Exactly.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'm holding out hope that this comes up again. If this conversation (them just not being right for each other, Luke going back to being the guy that pours her coffee) isn't addressed, I would be really disappointed. And it just screams, "previously on Gilmore Girls..." IMO.

But how much faith do you really have in them to not do something stupid? I guess I don't.

My money is on Rory and Logan having dinner at this point. Maybe another dinner with his co-workers?
It's wasn't me, I don't think I would see Chris as a replacement like PA was to Rory, Lorelai was just wanting someone (anyone) at that point.

What I don't want to see is a whole episode of Luke & Lorelai venting, screaming at each other about how hurt they are/were, blaming each other for what went wrong. And I don't want some long drawn out process where Luke gradually sees Lorelai has changed.

When she ends things with Chris, I see her getting on with life, busying herself with the inn, and reaquainting herself with the town, including the diner. A second chance with Luke isn't forefront in her mind, based on what he told her at the market, but she will try to repair their friendship -- a process that's already begun.

I'd like it though, if Luke already has some idea of why she made the choices she did, and her state of mind during the whole ordeal, without her actually telling him. One way to do that would be for him to overhear her talking to an unconcious Richard, pouring her heart out to him, how she started questioning every choice she's ever made, thinking she was wrong; but that she wasn't wrong after all; acknowledging how much she screwed up, and knows what she needs to do to fix herself and get her self-confidence back. I want Luke to see that she understands, and in the process see the part that he played in it.

He won't act on it right away, but he'll understand what happened, and it'll help him move forward.

That'll speed it up a bit anyway.

Oh ok, sorry I couldn't remember who said it. But I still think, whether it was consiously done or not, that Lorelai needed to fill the gap that she thought Luke left... and unfortunately she fell for Chris' "charm" in the process of blocking out and trying to ignore the reality of unpleasant memories at the time.

I like this.

I want some fighting and yelling, I still think they need to vent/rant to clear the air and maybe this leads at some point to a big make up kiss and maybe more.

Maybe spec is at some point they fight maybe starting over something silly, then things come out, maybe even "I never stopped loving you" and ending the ep with them going up stairs, either the CS or apartment.

Then the next ep opening the next morning with the couple in bed or Luke making breakfast for Lorelai. And to draw from fanfic, Rory came home overnight and they are both surprise to see each other then next morning. And no not naked Luke making breakfast.

Since I'm at home sick and have nothing else to do I figured I'd share a small spoiler that I've been privy to.

Sookie brings muffins and Luke's coffee over to Lorelai's house in order to get her to agree to babysit. Chris is there as well.

I apologize in advance if the spoiler is not to your liking.

That's not small it's great!

Thank you.

So that's the bribe coffee and Luke's coffee, she knows what Lorelai likes!

Thanks, Audi.

I wonder if there's some significance with the fact that it's Luke's coffee?

Thanks for the spoiler Audi.

I'm betting that bribe from Sookie pisses Chris off. He's so mature afterall.

Well she has coffee at the DFI and I guess take out cups or some way off getting it to Lorelai at the CS so IMO it must say something, I wonder if it's the first Luke's coffee she's had since the split.

I have a poll going on the MT "When will Lorelai go back to Luke's Diner" I wonder if this will tempt her to go back sooner.

Um Audi not game to take it to the MT LOL

If you wish to take my post to the main thread, I say don't leave a word out. Thanks.

Thanks AudiRox. There's a lot of potential right there. Hope they make something of it - Lorelai freaked just by the sight of it perhaps? I like it.
