exactly. I really like that too. Because we can say that CL ending because CL don't work. And that whenever LL get back together, it's not a result of her just leaving Chris, but because she's realized other things.

Hmm...very interesting.

I can't help but wonder exactly how this is going to play out. I understand that the break-up is about C/L and not Luke (thanks for that, by the way!), but I guess I just can't piece together the fact that Luke isn't involved at all. Personally, I want C/L to end because of just C/L - so I don't even mean this as wishful thinking. I guess just the fact that Luke is there for her and Christopher isn't made me think that Lorelai's "epiphany" would have something to do with Luke. Not running to his arms, but acknowledging that he's there when Chris isn't... ?

Anyone? Ugh, I don't know. I'm sorry if I'm not making sense. Things apparently aren't translating from my head to the computer today...

You're making sense. And I agree. I bet the things that Luke does in ep. 13 will play a roll, but not a huge one. Maybe just a clarifying roll, like, "why isn't this Chris here?" But I don't think her feelings for Luke will cause her to end things with Chris.

So if C&L are over for reasons outside Luke then was that the same when L&L spilt, will it be spun that it was not Chris, I guess that's the case but it still pains me that if Chris was not around and not at that dinner that Lorelai would not have gone to Chris but Sookie again or home to wallow!

Katie, I really want what you’re saying to be true and come across. As much as the JJ in me (at times only!) wants Lorelai to just confess her love to Luke and stop wasting time (the thought of no S8, oh my…), I think we need some trust build-up and Lorelai really needs this time to get respect/standing/etc….but yea, GG I really wonder how they’re going to play this all out…and I wonder if I’ll really believe that Luke doesn’t play into the break-up

We know that 11 has Lorelai remembering Luke’s presence in Rory’s life (and of course, Rory’s life was Lorelai’s life for how many years…), so feelings will start to surface, maybe only subconsciously though….then in 12, I really wonder how they’re gonna spin the LC fight. If they want to make it not all about Luke, then how will this be accomplished? I can’t imagine w/ Chris’ insecurities he wouldn’t throw in a “do you still care about him?” at the very least. Then we know Lorelai will see Luke being there for her family (Emily of all people, brilliant twist IMO)…I guess that I just really wonder how it’ll all be done. It’s such a delicate balancing act. They’re bringing Luke back in, but we’re supposed to believe her feelings for him don’t cause the break-up? Okay, now I feel like I’m rambling b/c I can’t say what I mean exactly…I guess what I fear is that we’ll see (what we already know) that Lorelai loves Luke & I’ll think that has some influence over her decision…and even though I want that, I don’t want that to be her driving force, ya know? Ugh…thank goodness I’m not taking english this quarter b/c my analysis is so off. lol.

Hmm…With all this speculating about Lorelai, I’ve completely neglected thinking about how Luke sees this all! I imagine hearing Lorelai’s letter in 12 will have some sort of effect on him…and then if he is privy to the LC drama in 13…how is he going to feel about this? About the divorce? I have no idea…Thoughts??
