sorry, I didn't mean why it took him so long to seek custody, i meant that initial two months after the science fair where he didn't do anything.

What if Christopher, instead of sulking in the corner after the fight with Lorelai, goes and talks to Luke? He could see the way Luke is there for Lorelai and see how safe and comforted she seems with him. Maybe he says that he isn't going to have this battle anymore. He loves Lorelai and he knows he just wants the best for her and for her to be happy. And as much as it pains him, he knows that she would be happier with Luke. He knew it all along. He could even give Luke the go ahead.

Seriously.. a scene of Christopher being the decent guy for once would be something I'd love to see.

A few days ago when I was still an optimistic person, i might have said that depending on how long the custody thing is dragged out, I could see Lorelai there by the end supporting him...

but really, I'm thinking that we'll see a few good Luke/Anna/April type scenes in there. I really don't want to see too much though. Maybe a moment where anna seems to be getting the upper hand and luke will lose, then a scene an ep or so later that has Luke saying something great, or April going up, or something that gets all the Luke fans happy. Then lastly whenever the final decision comes down. I really don't want some dragged out court battle. There's other things Luke has to be having going on besides that, imo. Like eventually reconnecting with Lorelai. but that might even be thrown out now with these SL changes and tweaking...

I mean we always say "Oh I stop watching when that is happening" but the truth is we come back as we want to see how it plays out.
We're committed to this show. Many viewers just aren't bothering to see how it plays out any more.

It's also debatable whether the audience was asking for "good drama", or if Amy just panicked - on general TV 101 principles, or because she was burning out, or whyever.

BUT WHY DON´T YOU blame her. It´s like Lorelai telling him in 7.01 "I gave you every chance" That implied she gave him more than one or two opportunities to get the clue. BUT SHE JUST KEPT HER MOUTH SHUT. You could turn the remark around and say Luke gave her every chance to tell something was wrong. But that wouldn´t be totally true either. The most significant moment of Lukes cluelessness was when he didn´t went after Lorelai for damage controll after she pulled the ultimatum.
Eh, I would agree.

DR may think he's telling some deep psychological story. Or he may just have wanted to attract viewers with some "easy breezy" CL scenes after last year's unremitting angst.

But he and his nitwit superiors apparently never bothered to ask how this crap would impact their much-loved Lorelai character. Online, critics are calling her a "skank". Offline, people say Lorelai's changed, "the new writers destroyed her character". With the show's deteriorating dialogue, it leaves less and less reason to remember to tune in.

Around here, we boycott, we get angry, or we just can't face C/L. Out there, most viewers with busy lives simply don't bother.

You may not find Christopher to be the devil, but what about Lorelai making such weak excuses for his neglect of Rory? What does that do to her character?

Because ASP was trying to break up LL and DR is trying to keep CL together for 13 episodes.

Sometimes it's that simple.

me too, but i'm gonna hafta add it to the list that also contains wanting to see an HBO-style LL reunion, LL with twins and never having to see Kirk's naked chest again....

Tree is right and I'm not going 'round again. Not the thread for it anyway.
I feel that Luke should have thought about the legal aspects sooner. But he sure didn't want to rock the A&A boat and we all know he doesn't like hassles.
Really I think it would be enough just seeing Lorelai watching in the courtoom. If it's closed, maybe she will be waiting outside or maybe she saw him before and just wished him luck. It's just a way I think for us to see the friendship is growing strong and they both will support each other now.

Dude.. if we can get the Paris hotel room scene with LC, LL fans should be able to get something similar, but not so cheesy and stupid and childish. And we haven't seen Kirk naked yet this season, lol.

Twins.. eh. Lane got 'em. I'd be happy with just one baby though.

Seriously.

Bet the writers haven't made up their minds yet. And the rate this thing is going, we could get:

Episode 7.13 - by Kirk

Scene 1: C dithers
Scene 4: C sprouts halo
Scene 7: C sulks, Emily calls, Luke somehow springs to the rescue (they forgot to change this scene)
Scene 9: evil C
Scene 12: oops, wrong scenario. Halo descends back on C's head.
Scene 15: (leftover filler from plan A) C kicks passing puppy....

a baby? you're still thinking about getting LL kids? I'd be happy if LL ever kiss again. Heck, I'd be happy if Lorelai sets foot inside the diner again without Chris right behind her dragging her out to be his loyal housewife.

me? bitter about all this? nah...

i love this show, but i can't bring myself to watch this season...however, i stay comitted, checking spoilers constantly and reading everything i can....it's just so hard to watch LC together, but mainly it's been hard for me to watch lorelai go down this path....lots of fans i talk to love the show so much b/c we really get the gg, can get inside their heads and understand their motives/thoughts....i can not understand lorelai lately, sure i can rationalize it, think it out, but at some points i just think that this sl has made her character weaker....i really hope she rebounds, but honestly, i'm scared

and about the Christopher thing....exactly as you said caf, what does it say that it's over? i know people who were in Rory's situation and used to id w/ the show in that way and now are very upset over this

eh-my friend is coming over right now to watch Season 5....she doesn't know what lies ahead....oh man

We share the same feeling Katie

I told myself not to get too optimistic about the spoilers but i got carried away! Now i'm very disappointed. I hope this "tweaking" is for the best. Who am i kidding?

I have a rule that i'm not letting myself get excited about spoilers since the ep. 7.08 thing. And it really was working, but I think I didn't realize how optimistic the letter info had gotten me until the "tweaking" news came out. It's just so damn frustrating. Can an LL spoiler that's good not be followed by a bad LL spoiler? Is that too much for us to ask for?

Eh, I refuse to be negative. I can't deal with anymore negativity. If you can't even pretend to picture the light at the end of the tunnel, why watch at all anymore?

1 reason for the fight ( you only have to forget the scene where Luke and Dopey are meet before the fight). WARNING!!! NOT A SPOILER

Dopey drives to Luke (after the fight with Lorelai) and says to Luke:

I pay you one million bucks when you leave town, because that's Dopey's way.

And we know Lukes answer

No, I don't think it's too much to ask for. It will happen.
