I feel robbed but i don't want to see them in 5 years from now. I wanted to see them get married and Lorelai pregnant and Luke holding his son. So the next year would be okay but now we have to imagine all this.

Yes! (But even one year later would've sufficed)

I wanted to see them just hugging after the kiss, relieved to have found each other again, that they were finally smart enough to let the walls down again.

Do you believe, we get it?

From the upfronts:

"Farmer Wants A Wife" is a new twist on TV dating shows by featuring men, ages 23-30, with farming or ranching experience, and "a fun, good-ole-boy attitude," according to the CW Web site.
That's why we didn't get the 8 season.... And it's clear why they chose the green last year. CW is TV for farmers!

The more I watch the LL's measly scenes, the more I feel like you.
They were all beautiful scenes, but with regards to LL, they really did leave everything up to our imagination, and that's just too much missing for a good ending for these two characters, who probably took up roughly 1/3 - 1/4 of the time throughout the seasons. It was poorly planned and the tiny bit we got, was chopped and carelessly edited.
The show can't suddenly, in its final episode ever, revert back to focusing on issues that haven't been the main issues in a long time (like the Rory/Lane friendship, or even that the show's all about the mother and daughter), while brushing aside such a major story such as LL.
Maybe we should just be glad we didn't get a "If I stiffen every fibre of my body the chance of getting sick all over the place decreases".

Hi,

I finally catched up on the thread and I’m ready to comment on the finale, although a lot of people have already expressed my opinions:

I loved the episode. It was really good. I laughed and I cried. It was a great way to end a season. A series? Not so much .. I felt the only SL that was really tied up was LR. L/E/R had a good moment, but I expected more.. at least between Emily and Lorelai. It was nice to see Emily trying to get Lorelai to come to FND because she doesn’t want to lose her daughter again. But we already knew that, since the pilot. That Emily would do anything to keep her daughter in her life. The only new thing was Lorelai saying she got to used to it, and she’ll go no matter what. It was nice, but I expected more from a series finale. But I liked the jeans bit .. I never wanted E/L to change completely, just that they accepted each other the way they are, especially Emily to Lorelai.. Their relationship was one of my favourite things in the show, along with LL.
I loved what Richard said to Lorelai.. although he had already acknowledged her value in Rory’s graduation, but it was still nice.. and just made me cry again .. yes, because I started crying with the FND, when Rory said she had to leave in 3 days… L/E/R faces killed me…Such great acting … And I loved Lorelai’s: “After dinner drinks .. for sure ..” She’s no longer trying to run away from FND ..which it was good to know.

I loved L/R Graduation reenactment .. and the townies’ faces .. like they were saying: “That’s it? ..

LG rocked in this episode (as other people too .. but each at a time). I loved the iron scene.. and the bedroom scene with the Lalala .. made me completely lose it. Her pulling the covers … I could feel her pain, cause that was how I was feeling about letting GG go … Yes, I know comparing a Tv show to a daughter.. not good .. but what can I do?

I loved the secret town meeting, when all the townies hide behind Miss Patty’s door .. It was so funny.. Also, when they were setting the tables in the square and saw L/R and started running .. also a funny moment.

I teared up also, when L/R arrived at the party with everyone cheering for them …It was such a beautiful moment, where we could see how L/R are such important people in everyone’s lifes.

Rory’s speech to Lorelai was wonderful. And Alexis was excellent there. She was actually tearing up.. which I think it never happened throughout the show. And Lorelai’s face of course .. fantastic .. once again. I agree with whoever said that was probably AB and LG, more than L/R.

Luke! What a great man! Not that I didn’t already know… but he’s was excellent. Planning the whole party .. and that scene in the diner with him sewing the tent ..Wonderful. I did notice he was laughing and smiling a lot, which it was weird, cause we’re not used to it. But a good weird. I liked it ..

And finally (I think I covered everything) LL!. Yes, I was disappointed. I expected more, since everything we got was what we had already seen in all the promos combined together. I at least expected a diner kiss, or a little conversation. My fault . I should have had lower expectations. However, I loved their scenes. God, these two.. don’t even need to speak to show how much they love each other. (LG and SP are just great and perfect together.. That was one of their best scenes. They have the best chemistry and to think they spent months without a scene together and still have this amazing chemistry.. just makes me love them even more.)
I loved the way Lorelai said “Luke”.. so full of passion .. and that simple word said so much more. It said: “yes, it is a big deal. And please just tell me how you feel, cause I love you .. and I can’t take being without you anymore” . And he did. SP’s delivery of that line was perfect. And finally, I loved how they silently agreed that they both wanted each other..and just met in the middle to kiss. Luke dropping the bag to hold Lorelai… was perfect. And yes, there was tongue .. and whoever edited that scene better hide! If they had showed the kiss a little longer I might ( I said MIGHT ..) have been more ok with the finale …

I really liked the scene in the morning in the CS. Lorelai trying to give Rory everything she might need .. and Rory simple saying: you’ve given everything I need. Beautiful. And great acting by the both of them once again. And of course, I loved the tone Lorelai said they had a stop to make …

Diner scene: I expected more between LL, like I said, but I liked it a lot (if it was a season finale). Their smiles to each other and the way they looked at each other was breathtaking .. Lorelai was back to teasing him .. and he loved it. They were them again. This was what I took from Lorelai’s: I can’t decide what I want.. She was teasing him, cause she obviously knew what she wanted because she then asked for a few things … can’t remember what exactly .. but pancakes was one of the things. And the way Luke said : take all the time you need, I interpreted as a way of showing .. that LL are not going anywhere, they have all the time in the world to solve whatever problems they might have, and they are not giving up, because they love each other so much, and they both want to be together. Reading to much into it? Yes, probably.. since that as a series finale everything should have been more clear. Although I loved their scenes, LL ending was awful. After months of waiting for them to get together and solve their problems, I was definitely waiting for much more .. than one simple kiss, which by the way was very hot and sweet and one of their best kisses, but that’s not the point.

And I understood LG saying it was a great season finale and a nice show finale .. cause it was. It really was a great season finale, but not a series finale, except maybe for Rory
(I didn’t mind Logan, I really didn’t .. but I didn’t care much for them .. and I always imagined Rory to end up single.. although I do think the way they got rid of Logan . was very cruel and sudden, so I’m sorry for every Sophie out there.. )

Sorry for the long post ..

We can only hope the studio releases something, as for the caps, that depends on the kind people who make them.

Farmer Wants A Wife dating game on a farm, can't wait, who knows we'll probably see it before long here, we do get pussy cat dolls here LOL

Seeing that incredible scene with them and the kiss, just makes me realize - yet again - how much we missed out on this year. Letting those two connect on screen in intimate moments would have really made the series for me in the last year.

The chemistry was still there - ASP decided for some insane reason - to underplay their plysical stuff last year before blowing it up - it was if she was so afraid she was gonna sink into "you're so pretty, no you're pretty" that she went too far in the other direction.

That scene in the finale captured it all - for me, it was the best moment of the finale together with Richard's saying what he did to Lorelai - full of emotion. AB just always leaves me cold and the director should have gotten her to stop with her fiddling every other second with her hair. ASP ran a tight ship, you didn't see a lot of those personal mannerisms by the actors.

If you look back on old seasons, you don't see Luke hitching up his jeans every other minute or patting his hands on his shirt or smiling as SP - she kept all that stuff at bay - and it really worked. But, man, AB after all these years - still (in my opinion) cannot emote well. She could have been talking about the laundry when she was talking about missing Logan - it didn't come off as authentic at all.

I still would have liked this episode better if they had L/L reunite in the episode before then have them both kind of nervous, excited, giddy about what it all means as they both went about doing their thing before Rory left - I wouldn't have even minded having Lorelai crash into the stage or something as an indication of her smitten kitten state of mind. It could still have been the second storyline...oh well, what's done is done.

The only scene where I wasn't taken aback by Luke laughing was in the one with Sookie - the way he softly laughs when she is getting all excited about his doing this and that Lorelai will love it - reminded me of Daisy Miller when Sookie dragged him aside to ask if he and Lorelai kissed - he uttered the same type of laugh. I knew this week in that scene that he knew why she was all excited - yay for Sookie being the L/L champion she was.

Hard to imagine having an opportunity to bring about a wonderful closure to such a beloved show and just squander the last year and throw us a few second kiss - I really do hope DR has to wait a long long long long time before he gets another gig and if there is any justice, I hope it will be on one of CW's stupid new programs.

I just didn't like the way the camera focuses on LL for like 0.5 seconds. Thats my only complaint...I wish we could get a longer scene, I think we earned it. But it was still good. I just agree with those of you on your editing comments.

Beautiful picture, Kacas. It looks like an oil painting, thanks for posting it. It leaves me with the only positive L/L moment of the season. And with that, Arriverderci, Luke lovers. Long Live Luke.

Well if wardrobe would have gotten SP some tight fitting jeans, poor Luke wouldn't have had to keep pulling them up for two seasons!

JLarah and clmorrow, I share most of your sentiments regarding the good moments of the finale and missing/wasted time/scenes.

I've been viewing past seasons and....

Question - Has anyone ever noticed that the episodes written by Daniel Palladino are so romantic, while ASP writes more of the funny banter and family drama?
I have a feeling Mr. Palladino is the softie in that relationship. ALL of the episodes he has written are my absolute favorites.

Question - I could never figure out what Raincoats and Recipes means? Help!

Question - Wouldn't it have been cool if Amy could have lured LG to her new show?
That would have been interesting.
