I think MA said a lot of on-the-money things about the finale. I loved the acting, the passion, and the poignant, emotional scenes, and I loved all the little details. But as a WHOLE, I think he's right -- Amy would have done it much more creatively. I'm excited to hear about his encounter with Amy! *hides*

I'm curious what she has to say. I must admit that I have mixed feelings about her. She gave us such a great show and she was so good at writing creative scripts, language wise. But she was bad at plotting and actually letting anything happen on screen. I must admit though that there were many moments I have to think Amy would throw something at her tv for how bad they were.

But the point must be made this was not Amy's work and while it's debatable whether she would have done a better job after the crap she turned out in the second half of last season I don't know if I would give her the chance again.

Putting aside Chris for a moment and the final scene was the s6 final better than s7?

IMO no, the real Lorelai would never have snapped like that, yes she would have blown up at Luke but she would not have gone to Chris and she said so herself she "I messed up. That night I went to Christopher -- I'm sorry." but did she even give a reason why? I guess enough said, they don't need a reason apart from she messed up and waste a year of her life. But they are back now and will forever live on together, at least in our minds.

In season 7? Definitely. I can't even imagine what went through her mind (if) she watched Go Bulldogs! or Merry Fisticuffs or geez practically anything in the first half of the season. I'm guessing she laughed her ass off...

I might get killed, but absolutely. The "unthinkable" aside, Partings was brilliantly put together. That's the difference between Amy's work and David's...Amy's has a *bang* quality to it. It just works. What she did to Lorelai and Luke, I'll always be bitter about, but as far as putting together fabulous episodes with creativity and passion, Amy is still the master.

Maybe if people can post any news to do with former Gilmore cast on the general gilmore news thread, along with Scott or Lauren's threads?

Yes when is the podcast released, it never works for me.

She says she didn't watch:

Entertainment Weekly - The Q&A
Life Goes On
''Gilmore Girls'' creator Amy Sherman-Palladino still gets emotional about how she left Stars Hollow, but can't wait for us to meet her new girls on ''Jezebel Jones,'' played by Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose

By Jennifer Armstrong

For die-hard Gilmore Girls fans, there was bad news this week — the series finale on The CW — and good news — creator Amy Sherman-Palladino's new show, The Return of Jezebel James, made it onto Fox's spring schedule. But the original Gilmore Girl is focused solely on the latter. She couldn't bear to watch the final installment of her fast-talking dramedy, which she and husband/co-executive producer Dan Palladino left a year ago when contract negotiations failed. ''Gilmore's too personal,'' she says. ''I haven't watched this entire season.'' EW.com chatted her up about just how Gilmore-y her new creation — starring Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose as estranged sisters — will be, and whether she'll ever reveal the ending she would've given the gals from Stars Hollow.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: So why this project — a traditional, live-audience comedy?
AMY SHERMAN-PALLADINO: I didn't want to go back to work unless it was something I was desperately passionate about. We wanted to find somebody who would let us do a sitcom, as an experiment, exactly the way we wanted to do it. Very classy and beautiful, with some fabulous actors — something kind of like Cheers. God love Fox, they let us do it. And these are the greatest actresses in the world. I mean, Parker Posey? Parker and Lauren are just knockouts.

You're working with two strong female leads again. How is it different this time around?
The great thing about a sitcom is you can rehearse it every day.... Parker's very methodical. And Lauren Ambrose will come [to rehearsal] with a list of brilliant questions. It's all the things you want to be able to do.

Neither of their characters is named Jezebel or James. What's with the title?
The Return of Jezebel James is the title of the book [Posey's children's book editor character Sarah intends to publish]. It's based on [Ambrose's character] Coco's imaginary friend when she was little. When she'd get in trouble, she'd say, ''It wasn't me, it was Jezebel James.'' To me, it's that connection that, even though the sisters didn't realize it was there, it was still there.

More importantly, will we get that trademark Gilmore banter?
There's a scene in it that I'm very proud of that's 17 pages of Parker and Lauren talking in a diner. It was wonderful. It was like a play. And they feed on that. They've both done theater. I got to direct it. I got to really work with these people. We got to do exactly what we wanted to do. We had this beautiful set, these fabulous actors. If it doesn't happen, it's not meant to be. Meanwhile, they're telling us to move our s--- out here. How do we get our dog out here? Solve that for us, Entertainment Weekly. People keep saying, ''Don't you know someone with a private jet?'' Uh, no.

Are you ever going to tell us the ending you'd planned for Gilmore?
Not at the moment, but eventually. I'll be on top of a building, ready to jump, and I'll yell it to the world, and I'll plummet to my death.

Any other new projects?
Oh, angel, we just finished this one! The plan on this one is the same as Gilmore — to write, produce, do everything. It's love. I don't believe that bull----, ''If you love it, let it go.'' If you love it, stay there and make sure no one else f---s it up.

Nope, because I'm a sucker for bittersweet endings. "Bon Voyage" was bittersweet. "Partings" was just bitter. And I've never been an ASP worshipper. The way she never followed through on story arcs bugged me endlessly. DR did that IMO even if he wasn't entirely successful.

Does this mean that she didn't love GG anymore? Or am I not understanding her?

I'll read what Amy said to MA (I'm sure someone will repost it on the news thread), but I certainly don't care about the last four words. The only thing I'd ever really like to know from her is something that I'm sure will never be revealed -- what exactly went on with the back half of S6. (What was the original plan, what was considered a good part of the storyline, what was vindictive, etc.) With the introduction of April, the show stopped being nice. (I can't really capture what I mean -- even when characters were behaving badly before that the show seemed warm and well-intentioned.)

Since I don't like spoilers and "scoop-style" writing in general, I don't spend much time with MA. But he'll always have a positive place in my heart for asking that one question to ASP in their "exit interview." Something like "You told the fans to trust you, then you broke up LL, put Lorelai in bed with Christopher, and quit..."

Arg...I see caf's posted an interview while I was typing. Hoping my post isn't too stupid in retrospect.

ETA The premise of ASP's new show doesn't sound all that "nice" to me either.
