Lancer: Why do you think that? I think Lauren had contempt for the show in Season 7. She just wanted it over with. She had done her bit, paid the price; owed nobody anything. ASP/DP just drained the life outta everybody on that show. She had the lion's share of the lines and is clearly most of the reason the show was such a success. ASP's storyline could never have been told if it weren't for the superb acting of Lauren. But after ASP left, it was too little, too late. LG was ready to close the series at the beginning of Season 7. She was tired and exhausted of all engergies -- and it definately showed in hers and AB's acting this year.

So I don't think LG was talking to the audience that: "It was too soon".

Just my humble opinion.

it was a nice time here on the spoilerboard. lurking or discussing our show with you guys always was fun even if we ranted or were just cheering in happyness.

I understand that, and I agree with you on that. They are much wiser now than they were. Lorelai has learned a lot through not only her relationship with Luke but her other relationships with Max, Digger, Alex, etc. since then. And I've said before that I was actually pretty satisfied with LL in the finale and did get the impression that it was all going to be right this time and they will be together forever, but it still bothers me that 1) they took too long to reconcile and be 'back in banter' and 2) we didn't get to see them completely back to normal in their new, wiser state. I don't know if that really makes sense lol. Thanks for explaining a new perspective

I really, really wanted that wedding, too, Tara. I'm glad they're at least in a good place, on track and everything, but words cannot describe my disappointment when watching all the thousands of anvils for LL wedding/kids in the earlier seasons.

Ok, so I'm going to be really busy the rest of today and all tomorrow, so if the thread closes before I can get back, I just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone on this thread who participated in all the ups and downs that have been this season, those who have provided spoilers and such, and everyone who gave us DLs of episodes, clips, special LL videos, songs, and anything else that has been posted. I love you guys and don't know what I'm going to do without you. You have become friends and I am very sad that we have to end on a somewhat sour note. Thanks for the optimism when it was much needed

What I meant is Lauren was talking for the audience (I should have worded it better) saying it was too soon, thought we had more time.

I watched bon voyage like six time already and everytime I had watched it it has made me cry. God LG is a great actress and Sp is a wonderful actor. I really gonna mis GG big time. A thanks to any one who brought to the years everything related to GG. It was really fun to know that I wasn't alone in my crazyness for GG. Hugs and kisses and maybe see you around in the mainboard.

I think I was more pissed 'cause at the time the local TV was not showing GG eps and was way behind (no change there) and I also had a sucky Internet (worse than now).

ETA - this weeks podcast is number 100.

Seriously, so unnecessary. I rarely agree with Caf's views, but I will never stoop so low as to tell her she's too involved in GG. For goodness' sake...aren't we all?

So I rewatched and I didn't cry! I'm so proud of myself lol. But top 3 teary-eyed moments: Lorelai watching sleeping Rory, Richard and Lorelai, and Rory and Lorelai driving up to the party. I also LOVE the way Lorelai does a little teary nod when Rory is acknowledging her in her speech.

I actually have to give the finale more credit than I did before. It was more than I thought it would be, minus LL stuff.
