I must have mellowed I really liked the ep and thought it was one of the best of the season, I do agree the L&L stuff was lacking and in typical Gilmore/Hollywood style they get together in the last 5 minutes, so much a set up for season 8 (or some great fanfic) speaking of, has anyone already been dreaming up the 8.01 teaser?

Seriously They 1 hour nap I just took (is it a nap at 4 am?), but I was thinking L&L in bed, most of the summer has gone and they just got back to night before from their boat/roll-a-coaster trip, visiting April and Rory on the way. That day April is arriving for her 2 weeks, with them. Meanwhile Rory's press bus breaks down in Stars Hollow at some point, sound crazy but that's what happens this early in the morning.

These past few months have been great and sometimes rocky but I loved to read and talk about GG. Its been wonderful.

I agree with you Lancer. This episode had all the elements for me - quirky, and funny and emotional, it made me laugh out loud, and it made me cry like a baby, and it made me remember why I loved the show in the first place. Was it perfect? No, but it was enough.

I sort of interpreted his saying that as an overall, take your time - we have all the time in the world. I like that - they will be together, no need to hurry anything. In my mind, the boat trip is a done deal and it would have actually seemed kind of out of place that soon after they kiss they already decide to take a trip together. Would have been strange to have them do that so quickly.

But, we all know that they each had the time off scheduled, we know they each their trip cancelled, Luke has the reservations and I've no doubt that if they had come back next year, we would have heard about the trip.

OT - I love most of what Lorelai wears (she could wear a potato sack and look great) but what's with some of those tops, what happened to a nice t-shirt, some of those look like maternity outfits or she's trying to hide something.

Same with me. My first ep I was a SW for was The Perfect Dress. My first ep on FF was SCPP. *sad*. It must have been great to have been in the online fandom back around season 4 and 5, but I'm sure it would have made it even harder to stay here this season.

It's interesting that they really were setting up an LL summer trip thing, but I hate that they didn't give us any follow through with all that set up. They had like a 5 minute town meeting, but they couldn't spare 5 seconds to include that or him giving her the necklace?

I go back and forth.....Part of me is so upset there was no LL conversation (not that I expected it), but part of me likes it....they didn't have to say much to each other, a few words and they both knew they still loved each other, met in the middle and there was no more need for words....
i guess i really didn't need a conversation, their kiss and diner looks spoke so much to me...but i would have loved one final scene that could have given, i don't even know, just one scene of them being together. i guess that's why i would have liked to see him give her the necklace, something simple like in 5.02 with a few words 'perfect match' would have been great
i know i'm rambling here.....i guess i'm just trying to let go.....they're in love, they're only really happy when together....and it's not at all hard to imagine that with their daughters gone, they will become a family unit......

At first i was pissed too that there wasn't any talk between them but their "Luke" and "I just like to see you happy" told me all i needed. Combine that (not with your black dress lol) with the kiss and the looks in the diner and we have a nice ending for LL. Not what we expected but it's something.

Well, I also loved that Chris was never mentioned. And that Rory asked Lorelai about getting over Luke, not Chris. Says reams. Also, Rory was only interested in spending time with her mom and saying good bye to E/R and townies. I love that she never uttered Chris' name. I half expected Lorelai to say something about Rory contacting Chris to say good bye or something and was so relieved that they didn't go there.

Too bad they didn't just pay off part of DS's contract and get him out of there after 4 or so episodes - Oh well.

I realize that even if I loved the finale last night and there was tons of great L/L stuff, I would still be sad that I won't be seeing them again in new episodes - especially Luke. I'd still be sad we didn't see them in their first year of marriage, which could have had some wonderfully fun and poignant stuff...again, oh well.

I wouldn't be so sad now if all these actors didn't bring these goofy people to light so beautifully and for that, I thank them and wish them well.

wow, ausiello didn't like it...interesting....

but what's more shocking (well, not exactly shocking)....is the interview with KB, EH & LW....wow!! I have to wonder what LG & DR think about all these things...

i know i'll find peace eventually....just interesting to know that not only do i long for what could have been, but a lot of the cast as well

Thanks for that deleted scene, Nicholala! I hope they add in some incredible extras in an attempt to sell Season 7 DVDs.

I noticed the anchors and got 2 meanings--one for the LL boat trip, and the other is Lorelai as Rory's anchor as Rory talks about the Logan pain coming in big waves.

That's what I thought, too. She would have been happy with him initiating a kiss, not just bigger gestures. I think it's easy to overlook how much he hurt her because we get caught up in the Chris fiasco and how much she hurt him. But for months after April came on the scene he pushed her away, and then in the freezer aisle he told her that their future together had never meant as much to him as it did to her. We know that's ****, but Lorelai half believes it. She has very little confidence that people will love her unconditionally, even if she messes up from time to time. She just needed something unmistakable from him.

I just saw it! And I can’t believe, that I cried the whole second half of the epi! I normaly don’t do this! It was an incredible episode. I loved all of it.

BUT IT WAS TO SHORT!!! AS AN SERIES FINALE IT WAS 13 HOURS TO SHORT! THE KISS WAS MUCH TO SHORT AND EVERYTHING AFTER IT!!!

I’m still crying. And thanks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much to all of you that run this thread. You are my heroes! Without you I would have had to wait until autumn 07 to see season 7.

That's a very good point. I hadn't thought of Lorelai's 7-year journey (I hesitate to use that word now) that way, but it's a nice explanation for ending the show here, before she jumps back into motherhood, etc. Lorelai herself talks a bit about that in Blame Booze and Melville.
