Ditto. I had to remind myself that it was about the Girls, but it was worth it, and much more 'final' than I was expecting it all to be. I'm still crying.

Wow -- I'm totally and completely underwhelmed and a whole lot pissed off. Like VictoriaLeigh said, that was hardly a direction for L/L. And what was that stupid line at the end when Luke says "take all the time you need." Is he going to continue to wait for Lorelai? I hate this show. Again, Luke continues to give and give and the Gilmore Girls continue to take and take. The only time I cried was when Luke was all alone in the diner sewing the tent together. Poor Luke, my heart breaks for him.

ETA: And Rory is going to freakin' Iowa, not Iraq.

The last Emily/Lorelai/Richard stuff was great, and I loved how Emily was trying to figure out how to keep Lorelai in her life and Lorelai just reassured her that the FNDs would continue. I even loved the LL stuff. It was short, but it was sweet. It was the perfect goodbye to the Girls and SH, IMO.
Couldn't agree more. Oh, and the tears!

No bittersweet goodbye from me after this amazing, amazing episode.

So Luke and Lorelai could and should have gotten more. I agree. But it's done. The finale was shot. It's not coming back (yes, I am crushing the optimistic in me). But we saw Luke in all of his glory, we saw them together, they kissed, they are going to let each other time and they will be together. We know it was meant to be.
I agree. That's why I refuse to be uspet. Besides, who's to say that if they had known it would be the series finale it would have been any different.

It just ended here, sniff. I have to go through and catch up on everyone else's impressions, but I thought it was wonderful. Given where the storylines were going into tonight, this was a better wrap up/series finale than I had imagined. And yes, it felt like a series finale to me. I wish we'd gotten another moment or 2 of LL, but it's all good. DR did it justice.

I have a really, really hard time figuring out how GG fans can be angry about the finale. Except if you only are watching the show for Rory/Logan and/or Luke/Lorelai. If you watched the show for its entirety, how can you hate the finale? It had everything...

Good riddance to GG. In my opinion it was close to sickening to watch Rory break Logan's heart and then use connections gotten through him in order to get a job. I never, ever wanted to see Rory use Logan's connections to get jobs and I wanted them to be together. I got the worst of both worlds.

Ok...personally that was definately written to be a series finale. And from the Rory/Lorelai relationship...it should have been. Mom sending her daughter off into the world. L/L on the other hand should have been resolved/together at least 2 episodes ago. I understand the focus of the show was Mom/Daughter...but L/L was built as #2 from episode 1...and it was totally treated as an afterthought tonight. I mean, dont get me wrong...im glad they got together...but its like they just wrote in a few scenes so we all wouldnt meet up and lynch DSR.

Except Luke and Lorelai - and they are what's been missing all year. It leaves a hole.

Remember all the bitter specs last September? The kiss was 8.55 pm.

I loved it. It was exactly what I expected. The only thing I didn't like was the kiss-way too short. I wiil cherish this show always. I'm so glad my daughter turned me on to it three years ago when it started on ABC Family. I watched season 2 and the middle of season 5 at the same time. I've watched the first 5 seasons on DVD numerous times and I will never stop. Thank you Gilmore Girls for giving me 6+ years of great TV (the last couple of episodes of season 6 and first half of season 7 don't count.) I wiil miss this forum and all the people I met here. It was swell. Stop by the SP boards once in awhile to say hi, 'cause that's we're I'll be from now on.

I am a blubbering person. I can't tell you how many times I cried.

The LL kiss - screw MA, that was almost nothing, the R&R one was longer. But I just wish we could have seen him give her the necklace. Oh well, that's what fic is for.

I didn't even put two and two together, when Lorelai and Rory were standing in their living room, I said I like Lorelai's necklace, and then when they were at the diner i was like oh, DUH, they WOULD have to skip THAT scene.
