That's family, and it's what R/E/L didn't have in the years between L leaving the mansion and the start of the series.
I totally agree. It was good closure. I wish LL had gotten the same, but it was a decent finale. At least they reunited Luke and Lorelai and the show didn't end with her married to Chris!

I've never posted often, but I've always visited, and never have a followed a show more cloesly when it came to spoilers, never did I care this much.
It wasn't my favorite episode, probably because I knew it was the end, but I was still happy with it anyway.
I liked the Emily/ Richard stuff. I liked that they all finally got along in the end.
The townie stuff was normal, although I hated the fact that Taylor had to be so mean and so Taylor about the party.
I liked the Rory and Lane scene. It made me feel like I was saying goodbye to my best friend too.
I loved everything with Luke, he went out being the man all of us will want someday. I loved that he went and decided to throw it, I loved that he went to Sookie, I loved that he organized the town meeting, I loved that he was in charge of setting it up, and I loved that he sew'd all those tents and tarps together.
I was disapointed in the Rory and Lorelai stuff as well as the Luke and Lorelai stuff but more so by Rory and Lorelai. I always thought there would be some sad scene where they cry or something and I felt kinda disapointed.
The luke and Lorelai stuff just wasn't enough. I liked when she said thank you and he said it was nothing and she did her classic luke but it didn't compare to raincoats and recipes or So Good Talk. I liked when she said she need a second and he said take all the time you need, but it just wasn't enough.
Maybe it wasn't enough because this last season wasn't enough. All I know is I'll miss this show, probably more then I miss Friends, or Fraiser, or all the others.
Thanks Fan Forum
Thanks for letting me say goodbye.

I'm always going to wonder how the show would have ended if Amy and Dan were there this year.
Lets hope Amy writes a book ending the show how she intended???

I started posting on this spoiler thread past summer and found it relieving to see such cool interesting argumentative opinionated people who were obsessed with Gilmore Girls just as much as I am.

I am very happy with this wrap up. I loved all the scenes in the dinner they made me smile. Finally, Luke is seen as the sweet caring guy we've known and not a slightly negative character. I think Iowa is a random place for Rory to go, but I'm very happy that CA came to the Inn. I am happy that there was even an Inn scene.

I think that this episode had very fast speach and I loved it.

I feel...like I don't know how to feel. Haha. Honestly, I liked it but I think I will enjoy it way more the second time around because I won't feel like I'm just waiting for the inevitable end.

I know this sounds silly, but I feel like I am letting the knowledge that it was originally penned as a season finale get to me. I guess I'm just big on tv closure, but I wish that the writers had known going into it that it was then end. But what are you going to do, you know? Really, if they had known and we had gotten the same episode I wouldn't have been upset because I did enjoy it. It's just that background knowledge getting to me and that sucks.

Really, though, I'm going to just enjoy it. We got a lot of great interactions tonight, IMO. And from the LL POV, the last scene was the final piece of them getting on the same page to me. Would I want to see more? Of course! But really I feel like this show has often omitted big moments (a PG-13 version of the lead up to the bed scene in WITS, Luke's "moment" in NAIL, many more) in favor of smaller ones. So, although I would have liked to have seen Luke give Lorelai the necklace (obviously), it kind of makes sense that we would get a scene after it instead.

And when I look back on WITS, NAIL and others I don't ever really get angry that I didn't see those things. Would I see them if they were offered (I don't know how that would be possible...)? Of course! But do I accept the episodes for what they are without those scenes - of course.

I'm basically going on the knowledge that we don't know what we would have gotten with another season. Hopefully we would have gotten a lot, but you never know, we could be sitting here 13 episodes down the road thinking, "We got an extra season for that?" You never know.

Let it be said, though, I would pretty much watch the LL show 24/7 if it was possible, so I'll always want more. And if *someone* decides to, oh I don't know, bring GG back for a full-closure-tv-movie I would be down for it.

But otherwise...I'll be okay with that for the finale (as if there was anything I could do!). Again, I feel like I'll really, really enjoy it when I watch it again.

I also can't wait for Luke and Lorelai to take that summer trip that was heavily hinted at with the Caesar-taking-over thing.

In case it wasn't obvious, the above was all my opinion. Yours may differ. You probably didn't need me to tell you that.

I think now's about the right time for me to thank everyone for all the spoilers, news, clips, and threads you've all provided over the last year that I've been here and before that. I'll always have some great memories of this board and this thread, our love for LL and the Girls, and all our speculating, ranting, and trying to be optimistic. It was great to talk with others just as deep into this show. This thread has been such an amazing place to post.

And a little for my new . It seems like as fitting of a night for this as any.

Agreed. Obviously! But again, it was quick, and for a quick closure, I applaud them.

ONe final psot for me. That was agreat ending. I think that the L/L stuff could have been betterbut the look that she gave him in the diner made it all the better. The best part was the scenes with Lorelai and Rory. They made this epsiode so much more realistic than they normally are, and really made me feel like the show would go on even though it isn't. I may not have loved the past two seasons, but I think that with the material DR had to work with, he ended the show perfectly. Thank you to all those who brought me my spoilers every day. I hope someday that I find a show just as good.

I have lurked on the FanForum Boards for so long...but I feel like I need closure. I have been lucky to find people who feel the way I do about this show - no one really understand but us.

I feel like I have grown along with Rory and Lorelai, that my relationship with my mom has grown closer because of our love for the show. I even referenced the show in the speech at my mom's wedding last summer.

Thank you all at fanforum gossipcom and all of the other sites that we scour each week for what you've given us. Your time, your webpage space, your contacts and spoilers, but most of all, the comraderie.

Thank you Gilmores for 7 years of fast talking, great quotes and the feeling that we could also be a part of the lives of the fictional Stars Hollow.

I will always wish lorelai had invited luke (as referenced by the going away statement in the diner) to take the amusement park vacation with her. I will always long for the day that luke puts his head to Lorelai's belly because the twins are in there, I will long for the day to see Rory make it and thumb her nose at Mitchum

I will thank them for the laughs, the tears and the great 7 years that WERE given to us. I will truly miss this show and all of the people who surround it.

So what do you all think ASP's last four words would have been - we've seen DR's version of them...

I just finished watching for the second time. I think I agree with everyone that the L/R stuff was great and I lovedthe Emily and Richard stuff, especially Richard. LL not enough, but it was good and if you read between the lines, they had to spend some time togeither so he could give her the necklace and they planned the breakfast. Oh well left to my imagination.
