I am not sure how I feel about tonights show. Hopefully there are some good L/L stuff in it. I sure hope so, cuz I don't want to see a ton of Chris even though I know they are over. There are so much better things to have had in the show.

Started watching the ABC family re-runs since it started all over on Friday.

Is it too mockable, too un GGlike, too unrealistic hoping they are brought back for a TV movie or two, which I bet would even make profit as DVDs?

Cappa, let's just say that you should not expect to see Lauren Graham or Kim Bledel in any Warners or Paramount films or TV. Outside of Kim's commitment to the next Sisterhood flick because MISS TIRED THE SECOND (Lauren being THE FIRST) apparently couldnt do a movie and a TV show in the same year again. WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH! At least the GIRLS will suffer for their inability to respect their audience and the show that they were on. I find that all sorts of refreshing. There's no business...like show business!

I doubt this will happen. I know a lot of people here are angry/bitter at them, but LG especially still has a pretty big fanbase (a lot of people at TWoP, for example, seem to have enjoyed her interview and still love her).

The casual, non-Internet fans probably don't know or care one way or another. If they like LG or AB enough to follow them to other projects, they will; if they don't, they won't. I doubt their decisions will be affected by what happened with the negotiations.

BTW, I am loving the list of stuff to be grateful for. Keep it coming!

It's funny isn't it that 7th Heaven was handled like a series finale and they ended the show. A few months later they got told to resurrect it and it came back.
Gilmore girls was handled like a season finale and everything was set up for another one and boom buried alive now.

There's been so much info about these so-called negotiations over the past few weeks/months that I personally don't believe any one source on this stuff. Maybe this 8 week thing is true, maybe it isn't.

I'm not doubting the source itself because who knows who told them - I'm just skeptical that the entire truth about what did and didn't go on is actually known at this point. I don't think we will ever know.

I think AB and LG will be just fine. As disappointed as I am in this whole sad wasted year, if the material is good, I'll watch LG in something again - I think she was wonderful as Lorelai for most of the series - certainly delightful enough that I'd check out something new of hers. Something as well written as GG was in the earlier years doesn't come along very often - she was lucky ASP chose her for the role - and, all of them, really.

I can't recall a time when a series that had been on as long as GG was given such short shrift when it came to the finale. If they truly had written the finale as a series finale, it should be one that is a love note to the fans - not one that quickly ties stuff up - and leaves a portion of the fanbase sad - just so they can make it out the door.

The mere fact that LG felt the finale wasn't emotional enough gives me pause because they should have taken great care with the finale even if they thought it MIGHT come back. That they didn't pull that off until LG sent the script back is bothersome. And, who knows if they pulled it off after they reworked it. I guess we'll see how they do. I also don't like DR's writing - so, my expectations are set to "poor" right now.
