They decided on fanfic chapters by different authors and to outline it collectively, as you say. They'll also have people watching each secondary character, to do them justice and for consistency, etc. I saw some posts on the unspoiled board here that I just tried but couldn't find again. The main planning is on TelevisionWithoutPity, in the Gilmore Girls forum, on a special thread titled "The Virtual Season 8 Project" in the "Stars Hollow Whimsy" section.

Maybe she does in 7.21? I had a beautiful dream, it's Lorelai in that pink dress comming to Luke's after Rory's graduation - but I changed my mind now - it should be Rory! Alone! Just simply - to talk.....

Impossible, I know. She breaks up with Logan....

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2

Pre-production

Production start: June 2007

Filming locations: Connecticut, New York and Greece

GG would have started in July. Should we read something into it ? Probably not.

I'm desperate for the cancelation.I can't imagine how i'll feel in september when every show comes back, but not Gilmore Girls.I makes me angry and powerless,no wedding,no kids, nothing at all:only a kiss and a new understanding.WTF?We've already see them in a "good place".We deserve more.I'm disappointed with CW,who gave up,i'm disappointed with ASP who screw up everything and IMHO now she's smiling, happy that the show will finish in such a crappy way.I'm disappointed with Alexis and Lauren who are behaving like two divas:maybe we associate them with Rory and Lorelai, but i hoped that they could come back because this show means so much for all the fans, but maybe they consider it only a job,no matter what we feel.I'm desperate really,i can't let it go this way.A part of me is dying with the show...i keep on repeating to myself it's only a TV Show, but i'm totally aware it's more than that.I'll never watch any CW show again-They deserve only Gossip Girls,Pussycat dolls and those stupid things. What's our gift for supporting this show and making ASP,Alexis and Lauren rich?A middle finger and Lorelai married with Chris, who'll be her only husband. It's a nightmare...i'm not prepared:every show i loved had a series finale announced at least months before,or at the beginning of the season. If i think Six Feet Under finale (the best ever made for a TV show) and Gilmore Girls one,i ask myself what have we done to deserve such a awful end.Sorry if i got u bored, but i don't know what to say or think:it never happened i'm staying at home on saturday night for a TV show

I don't believe a word LG says about this show - ever. She has said so many different things and never seems particularly interested in it at all and I think she will just give everyone the agreed upon spin. She babbling last year about how this Chris thing made sense made me think she's either a bit of a goof or just sticking to party line.

SP off to Toronto, AB off on location - yeah, I totally believe they have known for awhile that this was a done deal - doesn't matter to me anymore.

Scott would have been back in time. They only shoot for 6 weeks so it wouldn't have collided with Gilmore Girls. He already had a contract for season 8 so he was in no matter what.

I don't think so. When that came up on the podcast, (last week, I think), they said that both Alexis's and America's parts in the movie wouldn't affect any TV filming they'd have had, and that TV actors always do summer hiatus movie filming. But like you said, it doesn't really matter anymore.

Well I was hoping that Lorelai drops into the diner on the way to meet Rory at graduation, to show Luke the pink dress (just for Luke) before the other guy.

I wonder if SP has a clause, if GG S8 didn't happen that he would get other offers at Warner, just hope it's not some lame bit part for one ep!

It's kind of weird that SP was in Toronto for the beginning and the end of Gilmore Girls.

I am seriously going to miss Luke.

I thought the whole reason AB didn't want to sign was because she didn't know if she wanted to act anymore..wierd..

I don't think it was because she didn't want to act anymore. But I think that she wanted to have the opportunity to do other things. Plus, I think that she and America F. were kind of forced into this because of some sort of contract or something they had. I thought I heard that somewhere anyways.

Or what catkirk said.

I know nothing about AB's mindset or why she would/wouldn't sign for an eighth season. But all the girls had an option for a sequel in their original contracts for SotTP. Apparently they're pushing to do it quickly and monopolize on America's Ugly Betty success. So it's not neccessarily her choice to do/not do the sequel. (Again, I know nothing about her thought process or anything. I certainly don't know that she doesn't want to do the sequel. It's just a possible explanation.)

Hey all -

I heard the news and then stayed away for the past few days. So I guess it goes without saying that I'm not "caught up" at all except for reading the news! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sorely disappointed - obviously. But I really want to enjoy the last couple of episodes for what they are worth and not feel disappointed about what would have been next season. Of course, the feeling is there but I don't want to dwell on it. So I think I'm going to stay away for a bit in the rare case that we get more spoilers for the end - I don't want to know them. Kind of silly to say now, huh? But anyway. I want to try to be optimistic and enjoy what there is left.

Hopefully we'll still have this thread for a bit after the finale? I would love to read everyone's thoughts. For the time being, though, I don't want to be bitter. So, I'm sorry if this is too sunnily-optimistic, or if some don't agree, but here's hoping that the next two episodes are awesome and pleasing.

Thanks for all of the info, like always!

I was just trying to briefly catch up...

You're not the only one who thought this. I guess it's time to face the reality, but I would be lying if I said that I hadn't been thinking of this. Has a kind of evil genius quality to it, doesn't it? Downhill during S6 and then the horrible end of that season caused an uproar. Of those that hung around to see S7 many were disppointed with the way things were handled. Finally, finally things are getting back on track during the second half of this season. With the announced cancelling, I've both read and heard aloud many people say how disappointed they are that the show is ending. Many of them that have been casual viewers and/or haven't watched in years but still hold GG in their hearts. Many of them wishing that it did go on so they had a chance to finish watching it. Ironic to think that if the CW renegged and brought it back they would probably get more viewers - viewers relieved that they had another chance to catch the last story arcs of a great show. It would be a very interesting stunt...

Sorry, this is probably a little too "conspiracy theory" ...and even if the reality is staring us right in the face, I couldn't help but share.
