(As I said previously he could be referred to as actually at the grad without being on screen, and R&E inviting him to a party Lorelai is at is just wierd and insensitive). L/L scenes work, you'd think they'd want to end with as much of them and Lorelai/Rory as possible.
ITA. I'm watching some of the Jess Marathon on ABC Family and the L/L scenes are amazing. The show really captured lightening in a bottle with those two, and Christopher just sucks the heart and soul out of it. I too resent that he's going to make it difficult for me to enjoy Rory's graduation ep, something I've been looking forward to for the length of the series.

I have no idea who likes these episodes with Christopher, but a part of me wonders if DS has naked pictures of DR in a lockbox somewhere.

At least this is an episode that the majority of the fanbase can hate together.
As opposed to eps 6.22 to 7.14? Yeah, we haven't had alot of those.

You'd be surprised. Even though everyone I know wants L/L together, most of them really enjoy the Christopher character. They don't want him to be with Lorelai, but they really enjoy it when he comes back to stir things up. He's the character that my mom loves the hate. She likes it when he shows up because she thinks he's interesting to watch.

Especially if he is like: Lor look at our girl. We did so good. She did so good. I'm so proud.

Anvils, L/C won't be quippier than ever. I just think we should delude ourselves into thinking that they will be. That way whatever we get won't be as bad.

Oh, right. The overhearing-thing is in 7.21.
But that doesn't mean that they talk to each other... I'm kinda horrored-out (does that word exist?) by 7.21. *gah*

Or what everyone else said

But how can Luke then throw a party for Rory if he's still angry about Lorelai? Well, I guess I just answered the question myself.

And someone, someday should tell him that he did nothing he should be proud of but that's something we won't see.

Ugh, I'm terrorized by 7.21 already and haven't even seen it. Oh boy. I'm so "scared" of the episode.

There's nothing to be afraid of.

Didn't you hear? It happened off screen.

I will say it once again. I find it a lack of creativity to bring Christopher back after this marriage. They want L/L to have obstacles try making them new ones for a change instead of recycling that crappy old plot device.

Sara, I got what you meant. That was just me being sarcastic. 'Cause any L/C scene is going to be painful to me. lol

But I am focusing on the good things we will see in the episode. That keeps me sane.

What happened off screen?

Luke not being angry any more that Lorelai said the song didn't mean anything? Then I really didn't hear...

How will L/C receiving final closure be enjoyable for BBs?

Chris being at the graduation has nothing to do with Luke.

Copop, I was being sarcastic.

.
As I understand it, Christopher's presence in 7.21 has nothing to do with being an obstacale to L/L--or anything to do with L/L at all.

Is 7.21 when we have a town meeting to discuss how all the townies should have been invited to graduation? And I remember something about them complaining about it in the diner first? I think that came from a tour report but not sure. Of course, no one said Lorelai would be there for either scene, but it's possible. I hope.

I was on a tour at the start of 7.22, and Miss Patty's was still set up for a town meeting, and there was a paper on the podium about a squirrel problem in town. Sadly there was nothing remaining that related to the graduation or anything of substance that I could see.

That might have worked till season 5 but after WBB it was just stupid to bring him back to stir LL up. He didn't even much harm when he showed up at the beginning of season 6 because Lorelai had no interest in him whatsoever. Partings just happened because Lorelai knew how she could get back at Luke and who was willing and stupid enough to fall for it. Her epiphany (a word like journey that should never be used again) in 7.03 was more than dumb and ridiculous. Unresolved feelings and she had to try it to see if they work or not - such crap. LC both admitted at the end they knew from the start Lorelai was not in it 100%. I got the impression one writer didn't know what the other did half a season ago.

That was from Katie's tour click.
