According to Luke he was divorced when he signed the papers in Afterboom.

Finished reading from where I left off yesterday. Very interesting divorce talk.
Personally I haven't given it much thought, if any, so I don't really care, unless they have a sl about the whole thing, which I doubt. We'll see :-)

The divorce ... I really don't care. That relationship is emotionally totally over between Lorelai and Christopher and I am not one to be bothered by some formalities. I don't think formalities are ever the bases of a marriage, it is the emotional commitment and well, there ain't any of that left and both parties involved know so.

If Lorelai and Luke both are shown to feel confident of each other again and want to go for it and at it. Please do so! If they both want to take things slow because it has been a messy ride before ... take some time to trust each other and themselves again, sure then take some time.

I personally wouldn't like the whole idea of Luke and Lorelai waiting for the divorce to be finalised and then run to each other, because finally they can ... no, then I would prefer it to be shown in a way where they both still feel a little scared and like some time so they can be sure this time they do it right.

It to me just makes no sense to not follow your emotions/feelings and all, merely because of some papers needing to be finalised.

ETA about Christopher and him dragging out the divorce (this was and still is a spec

) ... I am not thinking that will happen. The way I saw Christopher in that last ep ,and the way I felt he was written, was a very mature Christopher who clearly realised they were not working and would not work. So for DR to than show Christopher as someone dragging out the divorce just to spite Luke ... I dunno, I just can't see that happening. But of course anything could happen

Watched the L&L stuff from last week and loved it, they know each other so well with the bathroom tiles and low blood sugar. And then the closing scene, can't wait for the last 3 eps and then S8!

C/L never even have to mention the divorce to each other - their lawyers can take care of the whole thing - including the filing of the final decree. I'm fine if it is never mentioned - I know the thing is over.

As to how quickly they should hook up? I'm at a point where I want them to just do it - and I mean all of it - sleep together and start moving forward together as a couple. They have issues - yeah, but now they know they have issues and if these idiotic journeys for them were to have actually meant anything, I would hope that when Luke compartmentalizes again (which he probably will), Lorelai will call him out on it and Lorelai needs to express her feelings, etc.

None of these issues are going to just disappear - they are a part of who they are - they just need to now know they are going to really fight for the relationship and really communicate.

Life is too short (sorry, I know that far too well right now) and I hope they really just go for the whole package - as soon as they realize they still love one another and let each other know it.

I, for one, am sick of waiting. If there is a season 8, I hope when it starts, they are in full swing after a fun, passionate summer together.

clmorrow I agree, they have to work on things together as a couple, Luke realizes that he can't fix everything before moving on, I just hope the do, move on and work TOGETHER!

I don't have a problem if the divorce isn't finalized before LL become a couple again. Maybe because here the divorce process may take years until it's finalized.

I am okay with the relationship beginning before the divorce is finalized. It's not that uncommon.

I am hoping that there is no need for Lorelai to see Christopher next season at all. Divorces are handled through lawyers. And Rory is old enough to handle her own relationship with Christopher without her mother's involvement. Lorelai needs to learn how to put boundaries around her relationship with Chris. They can be friendly, but they don't need to be close anymore. She needs to find the right balance.
