No thats not the sense i got from his apology. He basically explained that he was scared and trying to handle one thing at a time. I don't think he ever thought he would lose lorelai because of it. He essentially admitted to compartmentalizing his life and sees now that it was a mistake and that he should have involved her more.

it seemed 50/50. I think it was obvious that lorelai did see how she dealt with the end of the relationship was wrong. I never expected her to ever see how she kept her mouth shut as bad. That would mean she would change her MO in all her relationships. Lorelai doesn't yet see how self-destructive keeping your mouth shut is.

With all due respect NST, he never said that.
