Play By Play

Teaser:
Sookie and Michel in front of a bunch of flowers. They are arguing over how to arrange the flowers. Lorelai walks in as they are arguing like kids. Michel schedules in bird-watching. Lorelai, Michel, and Sookie are not happy about the hay bale maze. Lorelai goes on about how Taylor tricked them by telling them a sob story.

Part 1:

Paris, Logan and Doyle. Paris bitches about the lack of milk. Paris says that doyle is lactose sensitive
Rory comes in and Paris tells her that they are out of 2% milk. Logan admires her suit. She goes on about an interview that she is nervous about. Paris says don’t panic. Its for the Providence paper. Doyle goes on about this paper. Logan wishes her work. Paris complains about mail that arrives at Rory/Paris’s apartment. Paris asks why Logan is there. Paris says logan is broke. Logan denies being broke. Paris asks logan to do the dishes.

April/Luke. She gets out a bunch of books. She is unpacking. (oh god too much like rory.). April is going on about Native Americans. Luke mentions that she looks nice. She shows him her new earrings. She gives him a gift. A bracelet. She insists that he put it on. She keeps repeating the word Fabulous. April has essentially gone girly

DFI-Lorelai/Michel. Random family. They are looking forward to the spring festival. Rory calls Lorelai. She passes the phone to Michel so she can deal with the customers. Michel goes on a train rant. Rory is on a train. Rory is not impressed by his train-rant. Lorelai is talking to Rory again. Lorelai wants to know all the details. Rory met the editor. She said that it was an amazing editor. Rory makes a bunch of references. Rory should know by tomorrow if she gets the job or not. Rory says that she wants to bring logan. She asks Lorelai if its okay. Lorelai says of course. They talk about Lorelai showing out baby pictures of Rory. She makes a cheesy reference about Rory bringing home a guy. Lorelai says she is impressed. Rory is smiling.

Part 2:

Logan and Rory come into the CS. Logan says Wow. Lorelai comes down and hugs Rory and says good good. He gives her some fancy flowers. He says the house is beautiful. She does a bit about not knowing what to say when people tell her the house is beautiful. Rory is worried that she hasn’t heard from the providence editor. She mentions some stuff that RL could do in SH. They agree to meet later. (Lorelai seems to be going a bit overboard). RL kiss on Rory’s old bed

Patty is instructing some werid kids dancing. They look at apricons. Rory is showing Logan around. Hay is being unloaded as they walk around. Rory tells a weird story about about falling off a bike. She explains the bulb dance. Logan finds SH fascinating. They go into Luke’s. Zach is there. According to Zach, the twins are called Kwan and Steve. Apparently Kwan has a long torso. Steve has the long limbs. Luke comes up and greets them. Luke says its good to see Rory. He mentions that April is in town. Logan insists that Rory put away her cell. Rory mentions that she really wants the Reston. Luke notices the hay in front of the diner. He starts to knock it down. Official Luke Rant. Logan is enthralled.

Part 3

Lorelai snarks about Logan. Sookie mentions that Logan is still in Lorelai’s doghouse. She says a lot of nice things about Logan. Sookie says that its Lorelai’s judgmental voice. She says its not her place to have an opinion about Logan. She talks about his idea book and she mocks it. She calls him an over-coiffed young man. They walk into the town meeting. Lorelai greets April and Luke. Luke says April is growing up fast. LL have an awkward and polite conversation. Taylor interrupts them. They sit down. Scene from DC. Everyone gets up and leaves in the middle of Kirk’s speech. Babbet, Morey, Lorelai and Sookie watch the gazebo being lifted and the maze being built. They keep saying insane.
Lorelai comes home to Logan cooking. Logan is making Paella. He offers her wine. Logan is fascinated by Taylor. She tells them that the gazebo is being ripped out by a crane. She offers to help. Lorelai asks Logan how he knows how to make Paella.

Lorelai brings up the business disaster. He goes on about the dotcom second renaissance. Lorelai looks at him weirdly. He says that ideas are his thing. Rory gets the Providence job. They are all really excited. She has to say yes or no by Monday. They all toast Rory’s job offer.\

Part 4

Rory, Logan, Lorelai walk. Rory goes on about it being a good paper. She complains about the size. She contemplates whether its better to be a small fish in a big pond or a small fish in a small pond. She insists that it isn’t the best. She doesn’t want to take it until she knows about the Reston. Logan and Lorelai. Lorelai goes on about rent and food costing money. Logan and Lorelai have a passive-aggressive combo where he mentions having gotten his first credit card bill. Logan wakes up shirtless, as Rory is on the trundle bed making a pro/con list. She goes on about it again. Logan takes the laptop and reads the list. He closes it and tells her she needs sleep. He gets up and walks around. (He looks good.). He puts on his pants and a shirt. Rory mocks his putting on his clothes. He doesn’t want Lorelai to think she is David Hasselhoff.

He gets water and Lorelai comes down. Awkward conversation. She turns to leave when he says that he is not a gambler. He says he doesn’t want her to be worried. She says that she is worried she is a mom. She says he takes things to lightly. She actually says Kawabanga. He repeats it and says he knows he made a big mistake. He says he wanted to impress her. She makes a big rant about responsibility.. He says he knows that he was privileged and that he left that world. She said that she didn’t raise rory that ways. He said that he left a world of privilege. He throws it back in her face that she did it too. She says she didn’t think of herself as privileged and how he is impressed with her. He mentions how he is amazed she did it with a baby too. She offers to eat pie with them as lala music plays.

Part 5

Hale bale is built. Kids are running around. Random family is talking about the maze. The kid thing it’s a drag. Logan talks about how great the maze is (he is trying to influence the kid). Lorelai tells him the kid isn’t buying it. Logan thinks Taylor is a genius. Babette and Morey just got out of the maze. Morey says he is high from the maze. Taylor is letting more people in the maze. Sookie/Jackson and the kids got out of the maze. They loved it.

Logan says he saw that his name was on the list with a bunch of question marks. She says she wasn’t sure how to factor him in.Logan says wants he knows what he is doing then he will factor her in. Logan and Rory go into the maze. Rory says she will still factor him anyway. (she seemed sad)

Luke on phone about a delivery order. He says the maze hasn’t changed anything. Zach comes in and says that its easier to go through the maze. April says don’t give it away that she’s dying to go through the maze. Luke says she can go.

Zach says he is going to go through it at night cause he can smell the hay.

Lorelai is walking through the maze but keeps getting lost. Stupid gg music is playing. Lorelai and Luke run each other. Lorelai mocks luke’s bracelet he got from april. He talks about how crazy that april is a teenager now. She interrupts him and apologizes. She lets it out in a rush and says she doesn’t know why she hadn’t said it before. Luke apologizes too. He talks about how having april has taught him so much. He says it was stupid that he thought he had to fix his relationship with april first. He admits to compartmentalizing his life and says he should have asked for her help. He says he was afraid he would lose one thing (april or her).

OMGD...OMGD

I mean, I 'knew' that Eastern provinces get the show an hour early...but I didn't know that I can too!!!

(Just found the Eastern Global channel). I watched just as Lorelai settled Logan into Rory's room, through Ms. Patty's dancing bulbs, to Luke's and watching Luke throw hay.

IMO, I have the same compaint about the episodes as I used to. There's something 'off' about the acting, or the dialogue...something that emits a sense of tiredness. LG's face when she quipped about 'guest towels'...emotionless. Wooden.

I'm sorry to say, I just felt a bit 'blah' about the scenes I saw. Maybe I am expecting a quippiness from GG much more pronounced than it actually was back in the day...I dunno.

I'm choosing not to watch it now since I need to eat and stuff.

I found out where SP's been spotted in Toronto. Plans must be put in order so that I get downtown and hopefully bump into him.

Thanks for the PBP Genki! I've always wanted the Logan/Lorelai similarities to come up, but this sounds like a strange way.
