As for tonight, I'm trying to keep my expectations in the LL department low. Even Lorelai seemed disappointed with how their encounter (before the town meeting) went. The maze one should have more emotion to it, but I'm not thinking about what it should have at the moment. I just want to read about it and then hopefully see it soon after.

Why would that piss her off? She wrecked their friendship, so why would she expect anything from him at this point? I wouldn't think she's expecting anything, least of all worshipping the ground she walks on.

But maybe now that Daddy of the year is out of the picture she thinks when she goes to him, talks to him and is like before everything will fall back into place. Maybe she thinks she can get his friendship back when the first steps are done. They had a good moment in 7.10. After that he asked for the letter and outside of Patty's during the baby shower they had a good moment. Steps forward and well who does she have now ? Rory is busy. Sookie's mind is on her new baby and whatever beef she has with Jackson.

Well, if Lane could have a neverending pregnancy, Lorelai could have a really really short one? Either that or we spend the season with the 'newlyweds' and then flash forward in the last ep home-movie style with just short clips of lots of future things, kids, parties, etc...

Going back hoping to use Luke as a crutch, because her best friends are otherwise occupied, isn't moving forward, so I don't think that'll happen. That would mean Lorelai hasn't made any progress at all during this so-called journey. I don't think DR did a good job of making the steps clear, but I do think the point to this muddled mess was for Lorelai to figure out she could stand on her own. I think getting a small piece of Luke's friendship back will be all she's hoping for, and she won't be expecting anything else -- and she won't 'need' more from him either.
