Ah should have ... Lorelai should have never had unprotected sex with Chris at the age of 15/16. Kirk should have never been allowed to drive a car! Luke should have never had unprotected sex with Anna at a later age. Lorelai and Rory should not be able to eat that &^#*-ing much! etc etc
Well, I think the difference is between Chris and Max, Jason, Alex, random guy ... is that he was one she did always (or well most of the time thoughout her life) feel wanted her, loved her ... let me add, in his own way And I feel that was lacking for her so much those last months, she didn't feel loved and/or validated and I think that was what sex with Chris meant to her. I don't think it was a physical thing that needed to be taken care of, because if so YEAH than it could have been these other guys. Oh nice suggestion there Gjoni! __________________

There once was a guy named Luke,
Whose loneliness was no fluke. He couldn't read Lorelai's mind, Or do two things at one time, So he's destined to live as a eunuch. __________________

Though it doesn't sound anything like: There once was a girl from Nantucket..... As Finn would say: "I don't want a love poem" |

Very, very interesting. And written by our own David Grae. __________________

I agree that Lorelai isn't the strong woman we thought she was. Although I believe that is now canon, it was a retcon. She didn't get that weak until S6.
Anyway, the ep descriptions do sound depressing, about Lorelai denying her feelings. However, the promo and ep descriptions gave me a very different feeling for how the Lorelai/Logan conversation would turn out. It made it look as if she disliked Logan and would influence Rory that way. Instead, she had some problems with his past actions (totally logical for a mom), and she and he discussed it and worked it out. So I think the song and denying her feelings will probably be the same. It will turn out better than we expect, as it seems to me that ep descriptions work that way. However, spoilers are another matter, lol. They seem to be less than we expect. Logan admitting he made a mistake also had a good influence on Lorelai, and she admitted her mistake to Luke. Yes, it would have been nice if she had realized it on her own, but I think many times IRL, it takes a push from a third party to do something difficult. Also, I've been thinking of Logan's admissions to Lorelai. (I'm paraphrasing here, I don't remember the dialogue exactly.) She said he acted like he didn't know he made a mistake. He said he did know, but that self-flagellation, or beating yourself up over it, is embarrassing. It doesn't get you anywhere. But that he did know he made a mistake and learned from it. I think with the parallels the show uses, they are applying the same to Lorelai. She admitted she made a mistake, like Logan, but isn't beating herself up over it. It would be embarrassing to her and Luke. I don't think Logan offered Lorelai an explanation for what he did, and she didn't seem to want one. She just wanted him to admit it was a mistake, which means it isn't something he is planning on doing again. I'm guessing the writers will do the same with L/L. Lorelai telling Luke that going to Chris was a mistake means that she isn't planning on doing it again. That would be his guarantee. I realize that Logan and Lorelai's relationship is different than L/L's, and Luke does deserve more of an explanation, however, I think this is the path the writers are taking. This show has never been much on having the characters communicate, especially under ASP. We've seen more communication under DR, IMO. However, I'm not expecting anything big with L/L. But maybe DR will surprise me. __________________
