I think part of the reason Lorelai wasn't answering the phone is because she was with Babette at that moment and she didn't want to get into on the phone with Chris in front of Babette. Lorelai may seem dumb this season, but she's not a complete idiot. You don't air your dirty laundry in front of the town gossip.

If I wasn´t spoiled, I wouldn´t think so....I´d think she keeps crawling back to him.....

But how long will the divorce take ?? Do we have to see Dopey´s face again after 7.15, or do we FINALLY get Dopey-free eps ???

And it´s been dragged out, first it should end after the hiatus, then there should be an epiphany (didn´t see one), SLs were twisted to dragg it out.....that points to only one thing....a S8....

And IF we get a S8, I hope it will be with much better SLs and NO Dopey.....

There was never going to be an actual epiphany. I was told that from the beginning. MA is a tool. When Emily talked about how Richard was her life, THAT was the beginning of Lorelai's "awakening." And also later on when she called Chris again.

The cool thing is once they get divorced, unless there is an important event involving Rory, Lorelai never has to see Chris again. Rory is old enough to see her dad on her own without Lorelai having to arrange it or be there.

MA said about the 'epiphany':

We knew all along, and from MA, that it would be gradual. He told us that in the beginning of December. So maybe we should stop being so hard on the guy. He's not always right, but he got this particular thing right from the beginning.

But I still didn´t see her getting her brain back or grow a backbone again......and IMO she will never tell Dopey what a loser Dad he was/is, what an immature, selfish jerk, thats what I (and I think many others) want to see. FINALLY telling him this......for 6 years all we ever got was "oooh, it´s just Christopher" excuses......when he finally leaves she should finally kick his a$$.....

She got it now. She knows Chris is wrong for her and her family. Emily's rant triggered something off and at the end when Lorelai does the final phone call it was clear she was going to send him to Fiji. So the awakening was there and next week she is handing him his passport.

I don't think Lorelai will ever tell Chris he was a bad parent to Rory cause she knows that he knows he has been and I think we have seen him regret it.

And he has bulit a relationship with Rory now (too bad it was not shown) and I don't think bringing up his past with Rory would be a good idea.

It's just I would love to see her get mad at him for his selfishness. She's always so afraid of making him mad.

I think I´m just pi$$ed about the wasted time.....if we´re lucky we might get 2-3 eps of LL being together.....and what`s the result of this journey ?? She will now know what she already knew 20 years ago, that Dopey isn´t just it....the only who has grown is Luke, and if my Luke love wasn`t that big, I would be long gone....

So, sorry for the rants, I´m just dissapointed on wasting my time so far....

The best part of the ep for me was probably Emily breaking down in the gift shop or from there on.

I thought there would have been more Luke, in the end there was almost as much Chris as Luke, or that's how it felt to me.

I can now see how they were pushing the stuff about being the and ITA, Chris was an ass and just not there, I did feel the Luke stuff might have been toned down and it was weird that Emily would even let Luke into one of her cars let alone drive it without company.

I did like the running theme of fish and the saying.

Also I did like the look Luke gave Chris like "Who the frak are you" and how Lorelai said couples doing thinks for each other like L&L have been of late.

But still something was missing and it felt flat.

ETA - I also liked that Zach was doing Lane's job, make sense and that Babette told Luke I just hope at some point someone steps in to tell them that the other is still in love with them. And Babette stuff in general was great and PA is alive, wow 2 week in a row!
