GG S&S #1188: We wonder if Chuck is a fan of A Christmas Carol

Welcome to the Gossip Girl spoiler and speculation thread, feel free to post about any upcoming story-line and discuss it with the other people in here. We urge you to not bash the actors nor the users because it's not allowed by the rules, but anything else with a good argument is welcomed.

Effective immediately, the Spoilers Board Moderators reserve the right to temporarily close any thread that does not heed four official warnings given on any issue. This means that, if the Spoilers Board Moderators have to come in with four official warnings about any issue whatsoever, within 24 hours or so, then that particular thread will be temporarily closed. The duration of closure is subject to the Spoilers Board Moderators' discretion. Upon re-opening of the temporarily closed thread, said thread will be closed again if any warnings are given within 24-48 hours of the reopening. Lastly, if numerous warnings need to be given over the course of a week, and the moderators suspect an attempt to get around the "four warnings" rule to avoid closure, we reserve the right to temporarily close the thread.

ATTENTION ALL GOSSIP GIRL FANS: From now on, please do not post any picspams or repeated spoiler images - regardless of who is in them. It takes up space and offends certain members/fanbases. When we get new pictures, post a few of them once, then link the rest. They will be added to our photobucket in the OP and can be accessed there from then on.

Casting Call

Promos and Videos:

- GOSSIP SPEAK: SEXPERIMENTATION
- Season 3 Promo!
- Headband/DB
- Serena's Style
- Blair's Style
- Jenny's Style

According to Korbi:
- CB is top priority for season 3.

Kristin said what?:

- Bart is Back!
- There are no current plans to bring back Carter
- An NS pairing is very likely this season.
- CB are GG's Ross & Rachel and will always come back to each other.
- CB are not involved in the threesome.
- CBN, CBDorota, CBJosh, NBrCa, SCaG, SDB, GDO, RLK have been ruled out of participating in the threesome, leaving only ODV.
- The threesome is two girls and one guy.

Ausiello scoops:
- CB are "(relatively) happy" through episode 11.
- The threesome is "real." Either CBN, CBJosh, CBDorota, NBreeCarter, SCarterG, VDO, GDO, BDS, or RLKeith.
- According to Ausiello, Blair and Serena will start out loving each other, but by November, the hate is on! What triggers the war? Let’s just say Blair doesn’t follow the bros before hos belief system (or, in this case, hos before bros).
- Olivia will be getting a costar/possible love interest for two episodes: Patrick, from the Vampire Knight series

Interviews:
- According to Leighton Meester, Chuck and Blair will be pretty on-and-off, but it will be "hot."
- According to Stephanie Savage:
- Chuck and Blair will stay a couple throughout the season, but it will be nothing we've ever seen before.
- Serena will not be jealous of Olivia/Dan; DS is much less romantic than it's ever been - more like siblings.
- Then there’s Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen), learning the ropes of Queen Bee. “We really do see Jenny struggling with what she is going to do with this power that has been given to her,” says Savage. “She is back at Constance and now she is a junior — the same age as our other girls when the show started — so we have lots of story areas for Jenny that are opening up.” And one in particular that will make a comeback: Jenny’s fashion career! “As we get more into the season, that is going to be a bigger and bigger story.”
- According to Sebastian Stan, Carter knows what he wants and that's [Serena].
- Carter Spoilers - PEOPLE TV Watch Stan says that when his character Carter Baizen’s background is revealed, it will stir up some trouble among the Upper East Siders — and especially Lively’s Serena van der Woodsen. “They are revealing his history and where he comes from,” says Stan. “His whole background involves Serena’s character and it’s different from the other relationships on the show.”
- Joshua Safran interview (Examiner, Part 3)
- Neal Bledsoe interview (EW)

Speculation:

- From Junk_Yard_Slut - I just got an email from my source. They said - if the audience respond well to Seb/Carter - he'll be made into a regular on the show. It just all depends on how people respond to him and S/Ca right now.

- New Season 3 Poster

- S3 Scoop!

But why would they go all a Christmas Carol? Chuck is not scrooge he has a girlfriend and he does consider Erick, Serena to be family. In Season 1 or 2 maybe but not now. I remember the wonderful life on the O.C it was better than OTH's.

Chuck isn't, but Bart kind of was. And the way that Ausiello answered that question indicates that Bart coming back would be in a similar way.

I don't think it'll really be about Chuck being a scrooge. It might be about Chuck trying to work through the holidays or not willing to take a break because he's so obsessed with building his empire by the time he's 21. He could easily get into a fight with Blair and others because of it, then falls asleep on his desk...enter the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future to show him how NOT to live. Chuck's trying to get out from underneath his father's shadow. He wants to be known as his own person but it's possible that everything he's doing mimics his father's own rise to the top. Bart could come back to show Chuck how it could all come back to haunt him and how he needs to take a step back and slow down.

ETA: It's not like we haven't seen this already. Chuck didn't have sex with Blair for 5 days because he was so busy with work. This is Chuck Bass we're talking about.

I dunno. Could it be a look into the future maybe? With Chuck in the hospital, dead and alone? I'm sure they'll do some twist, maybe even have Chuck pass out from exhaustion and go to the hospital and then, while unconscious, having "a dream" with the 3 ghosts coming in and showing him his past, present and future if he keeps it up.

The fact that Ausiello referenced A CHRISTMAS CAROL makes me think they'll do a whole parade of ghosts coming into someone's life and showing them the evil of their ways. I can't imagine it being anyone but Chuck, since the episode is called the DEBARTED and especially after a string of Humphrey centered episodes (3.09 and 3.10 seem to have a lot of Dan and Jenny).

If you're interested in seeing the 'lipstick trick' from 'The Breakfast Club' mentioned in that last casting call, you can see it at 1:40 in this video: YouTube - Molly Ringwald tribute - Pretty In Pink - Psychedelic Furs

I think the ghost idea is okay, but I don't know how they could do it and have it make sense, especially with the other storylines going on. Everyone would have to be involved in the episode in some way, it can't just be Chuck (although I wouldn't complain about that). I don't know, it just seems kind of strange.

I agree.

I want it to go like this:

Chuck working late at the hotel, gets into fight with Blair because it's almost X-mas and Chuck can't seem to stop working. Chuck falls asleep on his desk. Ghosts come in.

Ghost of X-mas Past (Serena) shows Chuck as a child, NJBC as kids, Chuck playing but alone because his dad was gone. Chuck found comfort in his friends, especially Nate.

Ghost of X-mas Present (Lily) - shows Chuck scenes of his friends being together for X-mas w/o him and talking about him perhaps.

Ghost of Future (Bart) - shows Chuck what's to come if he doesn't get a grip...shows Chuck becoming like his father, dead inside and unfeeling; Chuck isn't with Blair anymore who is now dating Dan Humphrey and wearing flannel as well (this could be good for those who want DB but want them left in the AU world) and is not too happy in her surroundings; perhaps shows CHuck at the hospital, dead and alone under some sheet.

CHuck wakes up, runs to the Waldorfs and then joins them for a X-mas celebration at the Vanderbasshumphreys.

That would be cool, actually, if it plays out exactly like that. Although I don't think Blair would go to Dan instead of Chuck, what would hurt Chuck more would be having her with a Nate/Marcus-esque guy. But I can definitely picture the end, with Chuck waking up and going to the Waldorfs with like flowers or a gift for Blair and apologizing for everything. And then CB can have a happy Christmas for once.

I like your scenerio Daniela Though I agree with Kim, Chuck would be more hurt with Blair being with a Nate/Marcus type But I hope CB get a happy xmas this year

I just like the fact that they'd show Blair miserable with Dan and wearing a flannel, if Chuck and her were over. It'd basically reinforce how right they are for each other. But I agree Blair with a Nate type would hurt Chuck even more.

Eh, how would this be good for those who want DB? That's like a slap to the face, imo.
