Well, it ain't much. The Logan/Rory telephone scene and the Logan/Lorelai scene.

Rory/Logan 7.20

Thanks so much Blaab

Would you mind if I linked those in the Sophies thread on the GG board? Camilla usually does them but she's unable to for this episode.

Empty skull? I guess he just thought the break up was a good idea, a "satisfying ending"...or at some point he was told there would be a season 8 with everyone on board and wanted to create some cliffhanger. But in any case, he didn't put much thought in the "how's" and "why's". The proposal was just to make things more dramatic.

ETA: thanks, Blaab.

My main problem with it is that there has been NO build-up whatsoever. Even with the Paris/Rory discussion, I didn't get the impression that Rory desired a break-up. Because that would go against how much she's been shown to love Logan.

Thanks for the clips, blaab! I'm still not sure if I'm going to see the whole episode or just the R/L scenes.

I think I can only be really emotionally involved in GG again, if I know that MC is coming back.

That's the thing Sara...SHE OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT LOVE LOGAN! If she loved him or loved him enough. She would go with him, and have no problem starting a life with him. She balks at this notion. How romantic. Nevertheless, there is no female angle that can sell me on the fact that Rory loves Logan. If that's love. I'd rather have chicken and dumplings.

I just watched the RL scenes. Matt must have been sick or something but he's really bringing the sexy with his voice. Other that that, the scene with Lorelai was totally painful to watch. I really think her devastated look at the end wasn't about Logan but about the mommy/daughter codependence. I feel so bad for Logan. He just want to be with Rory, to have a life with her.

That's what I was saying. DR wanted to break them up and he wrote what he wanted. It doesn't make sense as much as some other stuff he wrote for Rory (like Marty/Lucy situation and those pathetic scenes with the TA)

I can't decide. I can understand Rory not being ready for marriage, but the break-up still leaves me scratching my head. What if Logan just misinterprets Rory's reaction as a "never?"
It would be OOC and also doesn't fit with the spoiler brought by Nicolalala (it's in our first post):

Rory wants to be independent. She tells Logan she wants to be her own person and make her own decisions.
Though, no matter who dumps who. This ending sucks.

I'm just not sure. When have we been given any evidence that Rory does not love Logan? Besides this of course.

Sara, I think next week is as much evidence you or I need. She says NO when it counts. If she says YES. She loves him. She says NO. She turns down starting a life with him. Obviously, Logan, is only college guy. Boo...yah.

It was nice to have E/R back, but with Richard back on track (or should I say suit) I felt left out of another good SL with Emily having to manage Richard’s business.
The theme of the episode seemed to be taking good opportunities and not gonna waste them, but when it comes to E/R, they wasted a lot. Still, it was nice to see them again, but way too short.

I loved Lane/Zach and the LL scenes, the old good feeling is finally back and I only had to cringe a few times during Lorelai’s song, though it probably was intended to be this way, and it was a sweet thing to do, love the looks LL shared. And the blue cap is finally back too. Well, blue works really well in this family.

Babette and Miss Patty were just great too and Kirk funny as always.

The only thing I didn’t like was the last scene with Lorelai and Logan, I don’t like Lorelai when it comes to him and Rory. And it was laughable when Lorelai said to Rory she could never ever disappoint her. Anyone remember how disappointed Lorelai was during her rift with Rory. As long as Rory does what her mommy wants everything is fine, but if Rory dares to go her own way mommy will be disappointed a lot. That’s the difference with Emily and Lorelai, Emily might not always like what Lorelai does, but she was never so disappointed that she wouldn’t allow Lorelai to come home or break of their contact, that was always Lorelai’s doing.

Logan is so in love with Rory, he would do anything for her, sadly Rory can’t or won’t return that, if it plays out the way that Rory breaks up with Logan. I feel so sorry for Logan, the proposal will be bittersweet, cause Rory is gonna say no to him.

It seems that everyone besides Rory can manage to compromise without breaking up with the ones they love. Luke and April, Lane and Zach, even Paris and Doyle, but not one Rory Gilmore, I don’t get it.

1. It won't be "bittersweet" for Logan. After fighting so hard for Rory for years, this will be one of the worst moments of his life.

2. I don't get it either. Not that this will stop the writers, of course. Maybe Logan says "it's now or never" and Rory says "I don't respond well to ultimatums"...Where have we seen this before, I wonder?

Not that I'm optimistic. Given what DSR said before: "Going the distance vs. college guy", I think the writers will play it as Rory saying goodbye to her "college life", and that's why Rory breaks up with him right after her graduation, while on her graduation garb. I think this is the equivalent of Lorelai walking out on the wedding with Max (who was, as you recall, also shipped off to California, never to be heard of again.) A horrible way to write a character off the show, to be sure, with him walking away probably wondering if Rory ever really loved him at all...I guess I really should have been a Paris/Doyle or Zach/Lane shipper...Sigh.

Yeah, for Logan it'll be the worst. Like Rory being so sure that she would get the intern ship of the NYT, I don't think the thought, Rory could say no, even crossed Logan's mind, cause he's so sure of their love for each other. Mitchum crushed Rory when he said to her that she doesn’t have it, now apparently it’s Rory’s time to crush Logan by saying he isn’t the one for her either.

That would be really OOC for Logan, but well no more OOC than Rory saying no.

I think it's a different situation with Max and Logan. At least Max was still on the show for a while after Lorelai rejected him and came back for a small appearance in season 3, but I can’t imagine a season 8 without Logan. Lorelai liked the thought of being in love with Max, but I don't think she really was. Now with Logan, I really believe that Rory loves him, but she's afraid to take the last step to make a leap of faith. But why? It was made clear so many times that Logan is the one for her, no matter what.
I'm not sure if Rory's look, the one she had while Luke walked in during Lorelai's song, will have something to do with it. Rory looked almost shocked, though I'm not sure why, was it because of the love LL still share for one another or was it because Rory felt she won't be her mom's number one priority anymore when LL get back together. Though that's something I don't get either, she'll always have a bond with her mom, but having Logan by her side can't compare to that.
