Fine by me.

That was a funny part. Honig is a clear Lorelai mark. "How can you not love this woman?" Hm. Let me think.
That was good, but this part is better:

Here is her take on Rory's decision to diss the position at the Providence's paper in 7.20:

Quote:
Rory’s future seems shaky as the rejection letters pour in and she’s turned down by the newspaper she’d just dissed. Apparently the Pro Jo is looking pretty good these days. At least she admitted that she was cocky about landing the fellowship, figuring she was “so in.”
But here is what she wrote after 7.18:

Quote:
3. Rory ditches The Pro Jo for The NYT. Gutsy move for the logical planner girl who does up a pro/con list in the middle of the night on her laptop. I had a feeling she’d go for the fellowship — and not just because of all her waffling about Providence, or whether it would be better to be a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond. You can’t be around Logan without being a little inspired by his cojones. So she ditched the sure thing for the long shot. She might not get the coveted internship, but this writer says she still made the right move. Go for your dreams and start early.

Poor Logan actually thinks Rory will be happy with a proposal. I so hate Rory Gilmore on a Frank Grimes level right now. It's not even funny.

Me too. And the promo? When Lorelai says not now? I just hate it how disrespectful she sounds then.

While I wish the writers hadn't made a PUBLIC proposal, I guess they really want to make it embarrassing for Logan.

At least Rory is not going to say no in front of all those people but it still 100 percent sucks

Yeah, it does. I bet we still see how unhappy she'll become. *hits her*

I honestly don't get how she from saying he's the one to being unhappy when he proposes to her? Just a waste of storyline then, to make us believe that they had the real thing (from BOTH sides, and not just Logan)

If she had a pair of balls. Rory would say NO in front of everyone. If you are going to knock someone down a peg. You might as well do it in front of everyone. Nevertheless, more good LL stuff absolutely ruined by the abomination known as Lorelai Gilmore Jr. ETA: Undeniable...if you are going to pull out that emotion. You might as well do this... because this is what the writers are doing to us.

This break-up still doesn't make sense to me. Why doesn't Rory just say "not now," but they agree to a long engagement?

Exactly. That's what I don't get either. I mean, her *no* means that she 'never' wants to marry him. And that does not make sense whatsoever.

Rory had this look when she realised that Lorelai was singing for Luke. First I thought Rory was scared for her mom so openly expressing her feelings for Luke, but now I keep thinking Rory was also scared for herself. Her mom starting this song for Rory but I dunno, turning to Luke from the moment she saw him. Making Rory realise her mom's life is not all about Rory anymore. Just like in the teaser how Rory wanted Lorelai to not go, but stay with her.

I guess they are going for the total freakout by Rory and the Rory never having had a hard time really and not knowing how to deal with not getting what she wants. And once it gets a little tough, she looses it again, tossing aside Logan in the process. I don't think it is lack of balls, it is lack of perspective ... I guess we have seen this before ...

Because she needs to be REEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAALLY independent. Mostly because the proposal is a plot device to break them up, so if they didn't, it wouldn't be serving it's purpose.

Sara, do you think it's possible that we actually get that next week? Maybe they agree to a long-engagement? We did have a foiler about FERNANDO. It would seem some folks have been proven incorrent. This could also explain why Logan is not in the finale...he is off starting his job. Oh yeah, has anyone checked for rings on Rory's fingers in those pics? This is just optimism running a muck, but I might as well throw it out there.

Or Rory says "not now" and Logan gives her the "now or never" speech. Which would be horrendously OOC for him.

I can't decide. I can understand Rory not being ready for marriage, but the break-up still leaves me scratching my head. What if Logan just misinterprets Rory's reaction as a "never?"

Nah. It is NOW or NEVER. What is Logan supposed to think after the last two years? They have come to this point. Yet, due to Rory's lack of maturity. She says NO, and he walks away. Any man worth he mettle. Would do the same. No man gets FACED liked that by a man or woman and stays around to deal with the other person's bull****. This is a very Dalton situation.
