| Teaser: Rory is in Chilton in a class listening to a lecture. Headmaster Charslton comes into the class and whispers to the teacher. She tells Rory that there’s been a mistake, she must leave with her things. Rory opens the classroom door that leads into Lorelai’s house. Lorelai comes down the stairs saying that she’s going to Hawaii and takes off even though Rory wants to talk. Rory walks into the kitchen and sees Paris and Doyle eating dinner with what looks like their kids. There are pictures on the fridge of their family, too. Paris sees Rory and says Hi. Rory says that she’s in their house but Paris says that they own it now. Doyle gives Rory some money and Paris passes her a trash kit telling her to get going to her job. Rory wakes up startled. 02: The girls are at FND and Richard tells them that he has a clean bill of health and lost 11 lbs. Emily says that she’s sorry that Logan was unable to join them. Rory says that he stayed longer because of all his networking and contacts he’s making. Emily and Richard have another surprise for Rory. Lorelai groans and says that she hopes they didn’t buy another building or better – buy Yale. They bought a pied-a-terre in the Upper East Side that they will allow Rory to live in while she’s working at the NYT. Rory says that it’s a generous offer but she didn’t get the Internship. Rory plays it off as if it’s nothing. Lorelai looks concerned. The next day Lorelai is walking down the sidewalk at Stars Hollow leaving a message for Rory wishing her luck on her exams. She walks into Luke’s Diner and hears Babette and Patty stage whispering since they’re saving their voices for their cabaret act for that night. Lorelai notices that Luke is preparing for the big boat trip. Lorelai talks to him with nautical references. Lorelai gives him advice saying that while April says that she’s very excited, he should still book a couple of days at a hotel and stop at all these east coast places. Rory walks home into Paris’ apartment. Paris is having a mini-party with all the seniors who got into Harvard Medical. Paris whispers to Rory that she’s keeping her eye on the competition. Paris gives Rory her mail and Rory was rejected from the Chicago Sun Times since they’re not hiring. Paris tells her to hang out but Rory says that she has a final in 1 hr. Rory walks into her room and places a call to a Kate Heskle to inquire about the Providence job saying that she’s reconsidering her answer. Unfortunately, the position has been filled already. 03: Sookie is cooking at the Inn’s kitchen when Lorelai walks in and she offers Lorelai a meatball to taste. Lorelai tells Sookie that Luke is wearing the hat that she gave him years ago for Christmas. Sookie remembers the blue hat. Lorelai says that he hasn’t worn it since they broke up. Sookie says that he usually wears the black hat not. Lorelai asks what that means where Sookie says that it probably means that he’s over the hurt. Lorelai wants to acknowledge his hat gesture and Sookie suggests putting on a flannel shirt. Lane is putting one of the boys down and she tiptoes out of the room and starts dancing. Zach comes in and asks if they’re both down and Lane confirms that they finally went down. She starts taking the groceries out of the bags. She tells Zach that he’s crazy to buy the name brand diapers and chips. Zach says he wants to celebrate because one of the bands that they know are looking for a new lead guitarist and asked Zach. They’re touring for 2 months in the summer and Zach is so excited for Lane and the boys to go with him. Lane is proud of Zach. Lorelai pulls up in a new Chrysler minivan behind Rory’s Prius at the crapshack. She walks inside and calls out to Rory. She finds her in her room asleep in her bed under the covers. Rory’s hiding from the world because she tanked her final – she didn’t even turn in all of it. If she didn’t fail it, the most she’d get is a C or C minus or D. Rory just started thinking about not getting a job. She thinks she’s an idiot and feels she can’t ever show her face in Providence. Lorelai says that she’s having a meltdown and it’s good that she’s home. Rory blames Lorelai since she told her she can do anything. Her next exam isn’t for 4 days so Lorelai says she has plenty of time to relax. Rory says that even though she was being modest about the NYT job, she really felt that she had it. She even pictured her working there. Rory says that she’s worried about disappointing Lorelai. Lorelai says that she can never, ever disappoint her. 04: Lane is changing the boys and Brian is there helping her set their strollers up. Brian says that their drummer from VapourRub (the band) may not show up one day and Lane will be asked to go on. Lane invites Brian to come with them touring but he says that he can’t handle it and has no idea how Lane does. Lane says that Mrs.Kim helps her a lot so Brian suggests that she take her along. Lane looks unsure since she will have the babies with her. Rory and Lorelai are at the Diner talking about setbacks making people stronger. Lorelai says that this setback might help her have perspective since she has always had things easy. Rory gets a call from Logan and walks off to take it. Luke comes over and asks Lorelai how she’s holding up – both are ok. Luke took up Lorelai’s suggestion on booking a couple of hotels. Logan is coming back soon – he’s booked on the red eye tonight. He’s going out to a meeting tonight. Logan tells her not to worry about the Times, her final or anything else because in a couple of days she will have forgotten it and things will be looking up. Rory goes back in and notices that Luke changed his hat. April calls Luke with good and bad news. She filled out an application for a camp back in January and she just found out that she got in and now she can’t go on the boat trip since the camp is for 6 weeks. Luke is happy for her but disappointed about the trip. Luke tells her that they can do the trip next summer because this opportunity is too good to give up. April will come during the last 2 weeks of the summer to spend with him. 05: Lorelai is stunned while watching Babette and Patty sing on stage. All the townies are in the audience. Karaoke will start soon but first they sing a song which Babette dedicates to Morey. Rory says that what will put her on top of her spirits is if Lorelai sings. Rory orders shots to loosen Lorelai up. Zach is excitedly telling Luke about touring and how he will only miss 2 weeks since the Diner will be closed for most of the summer. Luke says that the Diner will be open since April will be at camp. Zach is sorry for Luke missing the trip. Lane walks in and is psyched to be out on the town. Lane tells Luke that he should go to Caseys (where all the townies are). As Lane as Zach walk outside, he tells her the news about April bailing on the trip. Lane is quiet and Zach asks her if she’s ok. Lane says that she realized that she can’t go on tour with two babies. At home she has her whole support system. She’s sorry but Zach says that it’s ok and he will call and cancel. Lane tells him that it’s a huge opportunity and she wants him to go. He doesn’t want to leave them for 2 months, but Lane convinces him – they’ll talk all the time. Zach tells Lane that she’s the coolest. They walk down the sidewalk happy. Kirk is singing karaoke on stage. Rory tells Lorelai to get her pipes warmed up since she’s up next. She’s relentless. Lane and Zach show up. Lane and Rory catch up. Rory says that she had a bit of a meltdown and while she was bummed about it, Lorelai talked to her and she’s ok now. Lane tells Rory about Zach’s opportunity. She comments that the mature gene kicks in when you become a mother. As Kirk finishes up, Lorelai gets on stage a bit tipsy. She says Happy Graduation to Rory and starts singing to Rory – I Will Always Love You. Luke walks in and Lorelai sees him and continues singing looking a bit uncomfortable but continues on while watching him. Rory notices and looks concerned. Lorelai gets better and sings the chorus while watching Luke. He smiles at her and she smiles back. She continues singing. Luke smiles and continues watching her while she sings and watches him. She runs off stage when she’s done. 06: Lorelai walks into her kitchen looking hungover. Rory is making coffee. Lorelai notices that Rory is packed and getting ready to go back to Yale to study for her next final. She feels better after the shopping and wallowing and singing. At the Diner, Zach and Cesar are excited about some regular order. Zach says that Lorelai can seriously sing and then asks Luke if he’s feeling better about the April thing. Zach found Luke’s hat wedged between the dishwasher and gives it to Luke. He smiles and puts it in his pocket. Logan knocks at Lorelai’s door and she says that he just missed Rory but he’s here to see her. Lorelai asks about his trip and he says that it’s what he wants to talk to her about. Logan’s been offered a full partner position with an internet start up company in SF. They are serious people and Lorelai says he’s a serious guy. Logan says that he’s moving to SF. He hasn’t told Rory yet – Lorelai looks confused. He tells Lorelai that he loves Rory and she means the world to him. He wants her to go with him to SF but not just as his girlfriend. He wants to ask Lorelai’s permission for him to ask her to marry him. Lorelai looks stunned... Fade to black We hear Logan saying, “Lorelai? | theres no chance im watchin next week. he had tears in his eyes just asking lorelai for permission....ive never been this upset before...i dont think ive ever cried so much before, i feel like im gonig to be sick i truly believe from what weve seen in the last few shows rory says no because paris made her paranoid. the fact that lane/zack, paris/doyle, lorelai/luke can make their relationship work but rory cant is pathetic need soome fanfiction to cheer me up __________________ alive . . . everything will be ok  rory+logan There's nowhere else I'd rather be | |||

Anyway, when they were catching up at the bar, Lane said something that sounded a tad anvilish to me, and I really, really HOPE it was for R/L too.
