Wow. The Canadians do not have to suffer through bull**** RL shenanigans. HUZZAH FOR THE CANADIANS! I'd rather there not be a promo, then a promo of Logan on his way to a nut bashin!

The extended promo is up at the CW. The only thing new is Rory saying, "I tanked a final." I think with where her state of mind already is, that means like a B- or a C and not actually her having failed the final.

I'm so glad they could come up with something so similar to the end of Season 5.

You know what, that wouldn't bother me, if this time she actually reacted well, instead of freaking out. Let her prove she can take it now. But, that doesn't seem to be the case. *sigh*

And in the first place, putting all her hope-eggs in one basket (the Reston Fellowship) seemed like a really naive, misguided move. (Did she learn nothing from Paris?)

Again I think this is because a Season 8. There was all this talk and more than one spoiler saying that DR has known longer already if the show would continue or not (a few weeks or something). And I am thinking like someone else mentioned before, Wayne was it you?, that the plan for a Season 7 (if no 8) ending was marriage, but a couple of weeks before and still shooting ep 19, 20 ... he got to know there would be Season 8 and well, alternate plan was executed. That is how it feels to me ... that up to ep 20 there is no reason to think Rory says no to the proposal, because that could have been the ending also ... a marriage. So I guess I do think this is all the result of that ... of having to keep two options until very late in the season open to play out in the last 2 eps. Which are two diffucult options to keep open and give a true feeling ... one accepting and one not accepting the marriage. And I think DR going for the no to the proposal seems suddenly totally outthere and HUH WTF. And well, Season 8 means, he will let Rory freak out and not have learned from her previous freak-outs ... so she can get that clue and get Logan back (for once being the one that has to convince him) in Season 8! While also building a succesfull career ...

Oh and I also think Hugo will end up having had a call from Logan and her getting that oppurtunity because of that. And Rory will realise this later in Season 8 .... aaaaaahhhhh ... &*(%

If Logan is really that magnanimous to Rory. I will be shocked. He will be so ****ing Dobler, that I will be calling him DOBLER! Seriously, Babs, I can see it going down this road. Logan let's her freak out, but he knows how to help her. It fits. It's (Zeus just does not work anymore) damn backward to have Rory go through this again. Yet, I think we all need to come to the conclusion, THAT RON WAS ****ING RIGHT! That's all I am saying. RON WAS RIGHT.

Blaab, prospects of a season 8 don't make how DR is "building" (if we can call that way) Rory ending any better. A RL break up as a cliffhanger I can understand (I'm not fond to the idea, but I know some writers love these break up/make up storylines until they sink a show), but the "how's" and "why's" are bad writing.

And are you saying that there isn't a hold out like Ausiello says?

Me too. And this time everything will be way better: Lorelai will sing, Lorelai will ride in a white carriage with Rory, Lorelai will introduce Rory to Christiane Amanpour, Lorelai with Luke will throw Rory a party, Lorelai will plan a summer trip with Rory (because that is what you do when you are unemployed) and everything will end better than in season 5. Well, Rory will dump Logan, but then she can spend more time with Lorelai. Isn't it great?

When she was in high school Rory didn't apply just for Harvard, as Lorelai wished, because it wasn't a wise idea. After the rift Rory made sure to get her job at the Stamford Gazette then busied herself in a lot of classes in Yale in order to graduate in time.

How DR still can write Rory as the girl who make pro/con lists and then make her invest all her hopes in one job and on fellowship is beyond me. And what happen to those plans that Paris set for her on those giant charts?

No, that's what you do when you are independent

Oh I guess I didn't make that clear enough. I do think it is bad writing, I think DR made a big mistake by thinking he could have two options for an ending depending on a yes/no situation with regards to a season 8, that are so different and well kind of opposite really. And wants to make it believable in what we see in ep 21 and ep 22. So it remains bad writing and even though I understand him having to have two options, or him wanting to have them, he should have choosen them differently.

I do think there is a hold out, at least on the announcement And maybe still some bickering over details, but since there were a few spoilers a while back already that stated DR already knew what was going to happen (season 8 or not) and I feel that kind of coincided with this crazy direction with Rory and Logan, I think that is the case. He already knew a season 8 ... but the girls were holding out or something to get more or it exactly the way they wanted. But this is all spec ... I unfortunately KNOW nothing

Okee, lunchbreak is over ...
