while watching last night's episode, did anyone else feel like they were recycling storylines? like the forgiveness thing between sookie and jackson? totally mirrored by rory's forgiveness towards logan about the bridesmaids last year. and the internship let down was also similar to mitchum telling rory she doesn't have it in season 5.

Now that you mentioned it ... DR has a thing for repeating things ... and I hope that if there is a season eight that the break up with Logan is mirroring the split between the GG at the beginning of season 6 and everything will be fine after a few episodes ...

Despite the fact that Logan (sigh) wasn’t physically in the episode at all, he seemed to be in Rory’s thoughts especially after Paris said her piece about choosing a career over love. Are these the thoughts that will lead Rory to say no to Logan’s proposal that we’ve been hearing so much about? Can’t she have her career and Logan too? They just need to talk it out.

Nope, apparently Rory can't have career and love. I guess it's impossible, and it doesn't happen in "real life" (ha!). I guess buddytv is the only outfit "out there" that hasn't gotten hold of DSR's memo to the end of the season. I find it quite ironic and endlessly diverting that this website, along with Ausiello, were in fact the only outlets that DSR granted an interview to at the beginning of the year. So I have a few things I thought I'd add for discussion...

- Has anyone noticed that Paris got accepted to sever GRAD SCHOOLS- NOT jobs? Is that saying something? Didn't Rory mention earlier in the season that she didn't know if she wanted to go to grad school or work? Maybe I am dreaming that. Point is, Geller didn't go for a job yet. Maybe Rory is going to berate herself on that route, saying she should have thought about that option more, maybe she should have gone that route and she could have gotten what she wanted.

-Also, I am extremely angry that it seems as if EVERY other couple on the the show will end on a good note except our HEROINE!!!! Paris/Doyle---Doyle plays Lloyd Dobler Lane/Zach are in newlywed heaven with the twins Sookie/Jackson---sookie not only forgives Jackson but says it is paritally her fault Emily/Richard---are good, from all accounts (though they have been a little too MIA for my taste) Lorelai/Luke--- working things out/KISS (thats all good), heck, even Lucy and Olivia are happy...WTF???

-I am counting on the SAY ANYTHING moment...Rory should grovel though, I don't want Logan going there again, he's done NOTHING wrong---I agree that this is our only hope with this ridiculous storyline. (and that is IF this miraculous season 8 comes along AND included Matt)

-as I watched last night, I was truly appauled as it seemed like Paris was actually talking Rory INTO breaking up with Logan, convincing her that her career was more important and that there wasn't room for two big priorities (love AND career) ---normally I LOVE Paris, but knowing what is to come, it was painfully obvious that this was the beginning of the end arc for R/L--this is how they want to set it up (followed immediatly by NOT getting the felloship, then all the other rejections) ARGH!

-Lastly, I am a true GG, so I will watch no matter what (I'm a masochist, I know) but I am truly saddened at the turn this has taken...as someone else here metioned, Rory was supposed to be the won who got EVERYTHING...what happened? I seriously don't think ASP would recognize her girls right now

But at least one thing would make ASP happy: Rory with a job and single ... I think that what she always wanted ... Rory focussing on her career ... maybe I am wrong but I think I remember this somehow

buddytv did one of the best interviews with DSR, at the beginning of this season, where DSR pretty much said that the only fan of GG he takes account of is him.

Story-wise, do you try to think about what the fans would like to see happen? No, I just really have to think about, for me, what the characters would do and how they would feel and how they would respond and, really, all my focus is on the characters. Look, I'm a fan, I was a fan of the show before I started working on it. So, as a fan, I certainly have a great deal of affection for the characters and respect for the characters so I don't want to do anything that would ultimately piss me off. In that respect, I very much do have the fan's point of view at heart.

And that is what he said about RL:

And, finally, will Logan and Rory break up this season? No comment. (Laughs) You'll have to wait and watch.
