can you give some examples of the "types of contracts" the principals would have agreed to? I know you won't know specifics for each actress but what kinds of things will they be trying to work out?...(schedules? storylines?). Since MC has been slated as a "series regular" for some time now will they reduce his status if they use him less? I can see them removing his name from the creds. if he is gone completely -- but will they do it anyway even if he is in 1 or 2 episodes?

Just trying to wrap my mind around the possibilities.

See 13 episodes seasons can be tricky because usually 12 to 13 episodes are needed to be put into the credits, when that's a regular 22 episode season.

If they decide to sign them to 13 with the option of a back 9 (or whatever they end up doing, since noone knows yet), they'd look at the kind of storylines they want planned for the whole season (storyboard them). That's when they bring in who's needed for what storyline and contracts are made up that way.

The thing with Gravity remains that the show does not have a showrunner. Without a showruner, that show is not even going to get a pilot anytime soon. Unless the CW wants to fast track it in January, then they could easily get it on the air in no time.

That aside, the GG season eight contracts have to be for 13 with an opt out after the 13. If not, then, the contract mayhem will be hilarious. So, guess where we are again? IT'S LAST YEAR AGAIN WITH THE 13 EPISODE CONTRACT NONSENSE! I swear to Athena, even the off-air shenanigans on this show repeat their freakin selves.

Well my spec (and sorry this is a little OT for this thread) is they are planning the 13 with the Luke & Lorelai wedding and Rory & Logan getting back together at the end of the season. If the back 9 does get picked up (and more important the girls sign on), then they would have time for L&L married and R&L getting back on track. Just my SPEC.

I'm on board for the season if, and only if, Matt's signed on and there's a chance for him and Rory. Otherwise, GG will be dead to me.

This business of this TV is particularily confusing BECAUSE IT REPEATS ITSELF! Seriously, this show, better be one and done. If not, then, screw the CW, and the BMWs they drove in on.

Yeah, with no Matt/Logan, there's really no point in watching.

About Gravity: what is "cinema verite" style? Is this like how Friday Night Lights is done?

Cinema-style, most likely means like THE SHIELD. This show screams ROOKIE-COP HOMAGE to the SHIELD. It also means that it will be shot wide and shown in LETTERBOX. It also means, that this show will cost a good chunk of chain. Thus the reason they need a serious showrunner to make this show a hit.

If anyone can decipher what this stuff means (Jason? George? Craig? Christine?) I'd be grateful --- (is this the news we already know or is this new stuff????) --- and MAY keep from throwing up for a while!!!!

There's also a guide for all the upfront's on the futon critic website
I don't know how new that news from futon critic was but it can't be several months since the first plan was to film the pilot this year. I thought the other news was basically the same thing, that's why it's not on rl.net.

Maybe DR can be the showrunner of Gravity if GG ends after 13 episodes lol.

Curly: Sunday, May 20 One-Time-Only in this time slot - an Encore Presentation of the SEASON FINALE of "Gilmore Girls" (8:00-9:00 p.m.).
from the official CW listing

Gossip: Someone's probably already mentioned this that the reason they're encoring it in the timeslot is because 7th Heaven ends the week before, so the slot is vacant for the final Sunday of Sweeps.

Well guess what kids? BRING BACK THE REST OF THE SOPHIE CLUB! We have one more freaking year of this ****. Obviously, it's not over, and Matt will come back. It only makes sense to bring him back. Now we get to endure ****ing JJ level shenanigans. HOORAY FOR US!

ETA: Alright, apparently, the band is not getting back together. Huh. How about that? Well, one more year, and we might get a freakin WEDDING IN THE 08! HUH? HUH? YOU UP FOR A WEDDIN?

Don't blame me if it's a typo lol.

Still nothing on news if Alexis has sign or if they want MC back or not.
