I realize Rory's *special* but there are local reporters that have covered that beat for decades, specialize in it. So that makes little sense, either. They wouldn't have a new person covering the presidential caucuses or straw poll. Really, none of this stuff adds up to anything that sounds like Rory Gilmore. Or at least not the one that I've known for 6.5 seasons.

The spoiler from Nicolala makes it sound like the job itself is Iowa-based. At least from the way I read it.

It would seem as if the Ship is truly dead, as far as "Canon" goes. No trace of Good Will Hunting here...

Hee. I had a teacher once who insisted that it was physically impossible to tip over a cow. I don't know as I've never tried.

I'm sure it's a lovely state; no doubt about that. What's laughable in this scenario is the fact that we're speccing that she turns Logan down to be an independant woman... in IOWA. The girl that wants to be CA and won't marry her live-in boyfriend because she wants to broaden her horizons and be a world renown journalist is leaving the tri-state area, not joining her "One" in the other coast, to work for an online magazine in Iowa... If she was from Iowa to begin with and was only moving back home after college to settle herself into her career, I'd have less of an issue with this.

Exactly. There were so many cities DR could have chosen to place Rory... Chicago, NY, SF, Detroit, Boston, LA, Houston, Seattle, etc., etc. But Iowa is just so completely random and out of nowhere.

Is episode 22 two hours long? Are they setting up for Season 8? So many spoilers, so confusing.

I guess I don't see what's wrong with Iowa. It's not like there's nothing there and she's just going to sit and watch the corn grow.
