There's lots in Iowa. And it's not all just cornfields, soybean fields, cows and hogs. There are some decent sized cities there and the arts are actually pretty important in Iowa. And there are some really pretty areas, like anything along the Mississippi. If you are going by what you drive through on I-80, you are not getting the best view of the state. Sorry, just an Iowan feeling the need to defend her state.

Ok, if there is a season 8 and Alexis is with the show, she won't stay in Iowa. That or, even if the show is back, Alexis won't be on it.

Now I started to wonder if DSR will punish Rory for that semester off school and her criminal record, since apparently she won't get the position at the NYT nor at the paper in Providence.

How she'll meet CA then, I'm puzzled. Maybe CA will be staying at the DFI...

The Hawkeye Caucai isn't till January, however the Straw Poll is this coming summer. That's the only thing that makes a lick of sense, to me. But Barak won't be there for the Straw Poll, that's Mitt, Rudy & McCain.

Though Rory Gilmore FEATURES WRITER as a political reporter makes no sense, either.

I thought we had heard that CA was a guest at the DFI, gb. Did I dream that up?

I am curious as to why she has to run away immediately, to her ONLINE job. DOn't those usually allow you to work from wherever?

I think we had a spoiler that CA filmed her scene w/Lorelai and Rory at the DFI.

I understand the caucai theory...but why would she WORK there...wouldn't they just send her out to cover the story like almost (with the exception being local IA correspondents) every other journalist out there?

CA must be one of the "flingers' then....

I'm sorry, but the spoilers for Rory in 7.21-7.22 are now officially completely non-sensical. She ends the series in Iowa? Iowa?

Geez. She'll be probably better off with the online magazine job she has now, with Hugo in NY. WTF???

It doesn't make any sense, not for a finale OR for a setup for season 8.

So the Good Will Hunting ending is officially dead.

And Rory turns down California, to go to Iowa.

I guess the Sophies did something to piss off DSR? I wonder what it was?

The Rory spoilers, for a while now, HAVE NOT MADE ANY SENSE!?!?

Well, I was grasping at straws there. Heh. I didn't know that about Obama(and the GG writers probably don't either, they still think the SATs have analogies), but the fact that they threw in Rory covering the presidential race makes me think that's why she's there.

We know that that's where they were filming. I guess it would make sense for CA to be a guest at the inn.

I was kind of wondering that too. Would she actually have to be living full in Iowa to work for an online magazine based in Iowa?

Maybe CA will be there just like Norman Mailer. So it will be more a happy coincidence for Rory than anything else.

ETA: (Andrea in a rare delusional moment) Hey maybe Logan will somewhat end up in Iowa too and Rory will see that they are written in the stars, so she can't run from their love anymore

can you all imagine rory staying in iowa if this is the last season? i highly doubt it. Its obvious its a temporary measure to delay things just like the rl breakup. I just think all of this is too bizarre for rory going off into the sunset-style series finale

I'm confused about that too. Whatever, I just like that it's Iowa, but I'm a little biased, lol.
