I'm on a slow connection, so I couldn't get the videos to play all the way through. Just as well, as they would have probably depressed me. On a totally shallow note, the picture he has labeled, "Logan, casual, no gel"? Yeah. Um. MC is totally hot just standing there. Heh.

HOT. That was my only consolation for watching those videos.

In them, it looked like Logan was pleading. That's the word--pleading. Reasoning. He holds Rory's hands. But Rory takes her left hand away at some points. (Sorry, I insist on depressing you, not!)

I agree, Christine. Frankly, if it has anything to do with Logan, which given it's in the background when he proposes, it would seem it does, it's weird, bizarre, and frankly disturbing. I agree with Liane & Andrea, it just emphasizes that their relationship has gone way beyond unhealthy or even super close, to some sort of emotional crutch that will never allow either of them to have a life of their own. I really don't think Lorelai will move off the dime with Luke, or anyone, till she cuts the cord with Rory. But, frankly it makes me wonder if either of them are emotionally equiped for that. DSR has digressed their relationship so far this season. And it appears to be devolving much more in the next few episodes.

Of course this could all be something else all together.

I would have to assume that the horse and carriage happens on the same night as the proposal. Because why else would Logan and Rory's talk happen with the horse and carraige there, and why would they all be at Yale more than one night other than her graduation?

I don't really have an opinion on the healthy vs. unhealthy realtionship thing but it does seem very Gilmore Girls to put Lorelai and Rory into the horse and carriage at the end. Given that this poster said Logan walks away with the ring box, if the horse and carriage is still there with Rory, I wouldn't doubt at all that that's what happens.

It just made me remember what Matt had said about his ending of GG. That it would just be about the girls, not Logan (nor Luke). Back to the premise of the show. I have nothing against that idea, except that the mother-daugther relationship need not be mutually exclusive from (or prohibit) the girls' relationships. One would think that the premise of the show--especially after 7 years--would have evolved to us seeing both women grow and mature and be capable of moving on in the world and having stable relationships, even as they remain close to each other. Why oh why can't the writers have us witness that?

That just seems too weird. Who goes for a ride with their mother in the princess carriage that the (now ex-) boyfriend has hired for the event? There must be another explanation. Otherwise... huh. And ugh. (And this despite the fact that I generally care more about the girl's relationship than the romances. I never wanted Grey Gardens for them!)

Pleading? Damn. I am kind of glad my connection was slow. How about we ignore the videos and think on the sight of MC in his jeans, shades, and sneakers. *feels a smidge happier*

Lets just Eternal Sunshine everything else right out of our heads. The world will be a much happier place.

Oh, it's very Gilmore Girls to do this kind of thing. It was like in Partings, Christopher was still there - available - so Lorelai walked out from Luke to Christopher's bed. Of course, if you were a LL fan at that time, it hurt. The same way it will hurt for us Rory and Logan fans to see Logan heartbroken and Rory, since the carriage is still there - available - riding on it with her mother, who will be badmouthing Logan a few episodes before 7.21.

Ironic how both situations involved a debate over getting married (Lorelai wanting to elope and Logan's proposal). I read a lot about how DR had to clean ASP mess from last season. But right now I believe he wouldn't have changed season 6 ending even if he could. Otherwise he wouldn't give Rory Logan fans the same heartbreaking experience.

That excuse from Dawn Ostroff about how DR was painted into a corner by ASP the first half of the season was just

Obviously I'm in the bad train wreck scenario cause I keep coming to this board everyday and I inevitably only get more and more sickened by this whole frakking thing. That blog totally did not do anything for my day.....and I even fell for watching the vids --- like what? i thought i was going to see something DIFFERENT if i saw it there for myself??? WRONG.....and it looked like to me that Logan was frantically trying to get his message across and I was all..... "NOOOO....this is NOT how this should be happening!!!!"

Totally agree with the last part of your post....should've taken that as the warning it was!!!
