Season 8 = time for growth and reconciliation! Maybe Rory and Logan both end up covering Obama's campaign...
How on earth do you JJs keep backing these weird plot developments? There's nothing good that can come from this storyline. You are accepting a girl putting her mother before her man. That's just bizarre. Nevertheless, Luke and Lorelai NEEDED to grow in order to have a reconciliation, but Rory and Logan HAVE NEVER BEEN DOWN THAT ROAD!! THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE! If you do not see it, then I beg you to look closer. Since this storyline and the people writing it are full of a lot of ****.

It makes sense to me that Rory would get overwhelmed and not be able to make a decision right away. I imagine it's going to make sense to Logan, too. I just don't get HOW this leads to a break-up unless Rory says straight up no, never, but i can't see the Rory we just saw in HBM saying that. WTF? No comment on begging Lorelai for help. Blah.

And the part that makes me real nauseous is that she doesn't ask Lorelai, she begs Lorelai. It just sounds pathetic.

Yes. It makes me cringe as much as poor Logan proposing in front of everyone. At least he won't get shot down in front of everyone. Side note: how the hell does the carriage come in?

Random thought that may never get answered: I wonder what E and R think of Logan now that he has quit the family and/or family business. I would imagine they would have some opinion, be it good or bad, although they're not to keen on the Huntzbergers anymore. I don't know and they probably won't show us.

My spec:
He proposes the night before at the party.
Confident she'll say yes after graduation, he hires a carriage to ride away from Yale in.

I saw this earlier at spoilerfix and didn't know if anyone brought it over.....I guess it's just more of the "no logan" as we all thought....

Episode 7.22: Bon Voyage (Season? finale)
Airdate: May 15, 2007

04/18 - The townsfolk throw Rory a massive graduation party since most of them couldn't get tix to the real ceremony. I also know that the final scene features three characters and, per one source, "brings the show full circle." Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide

04/18 - Rory has one last meal at the diner, and the final scene of the S7 finale mirrors the final scene of the pilot. Source: Fan Forum

ETA_ i saw that the second post was at FF but didn't see where...just thought i'd share anyway...also makes me question S8...and i just re-read the transcript (thanks to craig's site) from the final scene of the pilot.......if it is anything close to it....

I concur. I don't see a breakup or Logan walking away unless Rory tells him some version of "it's never gonna happen", and such an answer ain't really conducive to a continuing storyline in season 8. And neither is DSR's previous statement about the matter, talking about Rory's decision in terms of "going the distance" vs. "just the college boyfriend". Either way it doesn't sound like set up for season 8, it sounds like an ending. I'll assume the worst until I hear MC signed for season 8, we get a ray of "hope" in 22, or the scene somehow doesn't go down as we think it will, but the spoilers sure don't sound too good right now. Logan walking away simply because Rory says "I'm not ready for marriage now" or 'cause she don't wanna move to San Francisco will be OOC for Logan, since I think he is so in love he'd be ready to hang on to anything. Whatever Rory says that gets him to walk away has to be pretty devastating and "final"...

I don't know....I'm trying to remain optimistic but the little spoilers we have for 7.22 don't sound promising

Thanks for the episode description for 21.
This train wreck gets more and more absurd with each new information revealed.

Well lucky you didn't read the SPEC one for 7.22 I posted on the L&L thread.

Maybe the "asking for help" from Lorelai is not as bad as it sound?

Its a big desission but IMO she would be better asking someone who has been married more than 5 minutes, maybe Sookie or Babette?

Asking for help sometimes can be the most mature thing to do.

Does that mean that Lorelai should seek Emily's help if Luke proposes to her?

No a good therapist and not that hack from Partings LOL

IMO it's just the wording but maybe Lorelai says that Rory is the only one who can make the choice and given her own love life she should keep out of it.

Just 'cause she asks for help does it mean Lorelai will give it?
