I truly hope this spec is not how it pans out, 'cause that sure sounds to me ominously like is The End Of the Road, for good, regardless of whether there is a season 8 or not.

If they do break up, does anyone else have the feeling that Logan will end up going back to his father and co.? I mean, Rory was the main reason that he changed and had this new outlook on things, w/o her, I believe he'll go back to his old ways.

All this is way too confusing for me.

But that makes it seem like maybe there's other things we don't know... it doesn't seem like it's as clear as he proposes and she says no.

The only thing that could properly answer that for us would be official news about MC's future in the show.

So lack of love won't be their problem nor anything bad that Logan did. Their problem will be just circumstances. If it's true that AB is still in the show as much as LG, that tells me that Rory will be single during the whole season 8 or, after a while experiencing her independence, she'll get back together with Logan (even if in one of the last episodes).

If there's an S8, I don't think we'll see much of Rory on the campaign trail -- isn't that more of a summer thing, or at least only a few months? S8 could pick up at the end of that, so Logan could be introduced back into it earlier.

Logan proposes to Rory during a time of uncertainty -- she's turned down the Providence job, and apparently doesn't get the Reston fellowship, and has no other prospects. She probably doesn't want to just follow Logan out to SF, hoping something will turn up for her out there. She wants the kind of independence she's never really had -- freedom to choose her own path.

A summer on the campaign trail might give her that feeling of independence, but she'll realize that it's not the be all and end all, that she can have her metaphorical cake and eat it too. Nobody can tell her that either, no matter how loudly we all sit here and shout, it's something she'll have to figure out for herself.

Tell you what; if/when we get news that MC has been signed for season 8 and/or we get just one measly ray of "hope" in 7.22, I'll agree with you.
