Just wanted to post and say, wow, it's nice to be reminded of why I don't post here anymore. Glad all my requests to Jerry fell on deaf ears.

And just to continue my train of thought from my last post about Rory kicking Logan with her spurs and him not being spooked: we have spoilers that in their final scene, Logan hands Rory the ring box, and then Rory hands it back to him. (I don't think that is where he proposes; I think the proposal and rejection happened before that.) But in that scene he hands her the ring anyway, again, the sentiment being, "you keep it...I'll wait...or I'll still love you and want to marry you anyway..."

(hence, Ausiello's comment about the scene being bittersweet)

Then Rory hands it back. (cry, cry, cry.)

But they were (are still?) undergoing negotiations about S8. DR's writing could work as either a season or series finale, and we know they're gunning for just a season finale. I know the ending is what it is, I was speculating about WHY DR thought to go this route. I still can't believe he's anti-RL, anti-Logan, or that he's so stupid or cruel to come up with this SL without potential follow-through. (But seeing that S8 is nil, he does appear cruel and stupid.)

I hope it doesn't happen like that.

For the poor guy, that scene is plain pathetic, not bittersweet.

Talk about a "Kill a Ship" scene!

Oh, I'm starting to believe it, all right. Unfortunately.

DSR is a guy, after all; he fully knows what a blow to Logan 7.21 will be.

Damn, I feel sad. Trying to come up with scenarios that will make me somewhat happy, but am more and more convinced those are not around ... what a mess ... I still can not seem to give up hope that there is some twist to this ... another season, a running after Logan anyway in the finale ... anything ... but I am not really believing myself anymore while attempting to see some good coming from this ...

Again though; I feel like I am missing this huge part of a puzzle that should be so &^$#-ing obvious ... but maybe all that is missing is ASP ...

But some people are much tougher than others - and I think Logan is very tough. IMO, he knows Rory very well, and I have to believe he knows she will come back to him once she gets her "freedom and independence" phase out of her system.

Logan has been a freewheeler since the onset of puberty, no doubt. He is ready to settle down. Rory's life has been much more sheltered, and she needs her post-college year to throw off the shackles of school, study - anything that she perceives as holding her back. It's not a crime that she isn't in the "same place" that he is.

I still believe RL are the endgame - and it will be somehow implied at the end of this year, or explored in S8.

Right. Enter potential new scenario/story arc for embattled S8: Rory and Logan find their paths crossing again sometime in the future, but tensions are high. Logan is hurt/angry, Rory is...(i don't know, regretful I hope). Kind of an iloveyou/ihateyou kind of thing.

Okay, I think I've read that in one too many fanfic. I'm just toying with my emotions here.(*goes off to read again*)

He's tough. But he's also fallen pretty hard and committed himself to a girl for the first time in his life, with Rory. So I also can't think he'll take this calmly or that he'll "know" she'll come back to him, not at first.

Well, I most certainly hope that you're right about this, and that I'm wrong.

I would love nothing more than to find out I'm wrong about this...

Me too! But I honestly believe that DR has allowed Rory to show how much she loves Logan, and that doesn't change just because she's not ready to get married.

Yes, Logan knows Rory very well. But, the thing is, there is not enough time for her to get this out of her system and go back to Logan. Not enough time. Will we even see her missing Logan?

Take this with a grain of salt, but I'll share it anyway. I was told that Lorelai really wouldn't have much of an impact on the R/L break-up(of course that's just someone's interpretation). I don't know if that makes anyone feel better, but there it is.

Who knows?

I suppose a "Good Will Hunting" type-scenario is possible, even if Logan doesn't appear in the episode...

(Not that I really believe that will happen, but I guess it is possible.)

There seem to be rather peculiar spoilers about 7.22, in general...

Rory and Lorelai say goodbye in a phone call. Really?

It rains during Rory's farewell party. (I cannot even remember the last time the show had a scene with simulated rain in it, to be honest.)

How does Christiana Amanpour fit in the episode?

But, DSR has also made the relationship end in the most humiliating way possible for Logan. The blow should not have been so cruel.

Anyway, the writing has not been consistent.
