maybe that's the writers' intentions? what if they leave us hanging on the fate of both rory and lorelai's love lives? letting our imaginations to run wild?

after reading what i just wrote, i dont think it's actually possible. that's just what popped into my head after reading that quote. i guess im trying to make sense of what's going to happen with the info we've gotten. but if it does happen, which i hope it doesn't, i'd probably stop watching entirely scripted shows and stick with my bravo reality tv show contests. anyone else a fan of project runway?

7.21 info:

Rory wants to be independent. She tells Logan she wants to be her own person and make her own decisions.

Thanks Nicolalala

Apparently Rory's sick of being part of a team. Her whole life can be on "her terms" now, but I hope she realizes where that leaves her when she needs someone to be there for her.

Thanks Nicolalala!

What has been stopping her before now? It definitely was not Logan! Also, if Rory wants to be independent, she needs cut back her emotional dependence on Lorelai. Until she does that, she cannot be independent.

Notice that 22 is supposed to take place 1-2 weeks AFTER 21, that gives time to find a job. The promo pic for 18 suggests that Rory is seriously thinking about rejecting the Providence job because of her prospect of getting the Reston. Maybe she's a finalist? Or something like that. But then she does not get it.

Ya know, or not. I just don't think Logan ending with a rejected proposal makes a bit of sense. He's been a popular character with a large part of the fanbase. Why give him such a horrific ending? Rory wants to be independent, well, goody for her. Nice that they're turning her into Paris, and Paris into Rory in the last 4 episodes of the show. Glad I'm no longer watching since I don't think I could make myself believe that Liza Weil really looks just like Alexis Bledel and Danny Strong looks just like Matt Czuchry.

ITA.

Also, this reminds me a little bit of what she said to Paris in NAIL. And her mom in SGtDM. Hmmm.

Thanks for the spoiler Nicolalala.

Edited cause I can't quote right today.

Thanks for the info, Nicolala. So it seems to me that she's feeling pressured or pulled several different ways by her job prospects, Lorelai, and Logan's proposal.

But blech, so it is an unequivocal no, not a "not now/not yet". After everything, she actually thinks she won't be or isn't "her own person"; that Logan will not make her make her own decisions?!? And at what cost, woman???? You're only sacrificing the love of your life!

***
Jason, I was thinking from Rory's point of view. And I was thinking of her POV BEFORE getting Nicolala's information. Perhaps you're right, in the end she doesn't love him enough, not at this point. Loving Logan and "wanting to be her own person" don't mix well.

And from Logan's POV, then yes, that is tantamount to goodbye.

Interesting info. Thanks Nicolalala. This actually could fit well with CA in the last episode. Rory doesn't believe she can have a relationship with Logan while also maintaining her independence. But she'll meet CA and CA will clue her in. Just because Logan isn't in the finale, doesn't mean Rory won't change her mind.

Or it could go the opposite way as well. Rory will feel she needs her independence for a change -- no one tying her down, and it's not necessary for her to have it all at the age of 23. That she still has time to live her life independently before completely settling down. CA is also proof of that. She has time to still do everything and everything doesn't have to happen right out of college.

It really could go either way.

thanks for the info.

i'm assuming this is what she tells him when she turns down his proposal? i guess she would do like her mother did and she would want to be the one to propose to whoever she decides to marry..

exactly! just when i thought they can't get any worse. actually, they could, especially if they announce a season 8 without matt. let's hope that won't happen. it's like punches to the gut and i just keep coming back for more.

i no longer have a favorite tv show..

As Jason has pointed out many times, there is no such thing as a happy ending on GG (darn writers)!

You are right pixie, these spoilers just keep getting worse and worse. Honestly, if Rory truly wanted to be independent and make her own decisions, she would have done this a long time ago. I hope she is happy when she winds up alone with only her "career" to keep her warm. Also, I hope something akin to what happened in MissChris's Love Fool happens-and that we get to see the progression of Logan moving on. At this point, based on what we know so far, Logan loves Rory more than she deserves and he deserves better.

I say we start a campaign for a Logan spin-off in addition to the R/L campaign!

I agree.

- Chris is used all season and cased aside
- Rory and Logan break up after a proposal gone wrong.
- Luke and Lorelai have a happy ending, yeah probably the late 2 minutes!

I don't think DSR knows how to write a happy SL!

I'm sure we'll have some happy moments in the next 5 eps but will that make up for the crap to come?

Nothing will make up for the crap we are about to be fed! As a result, I will not be watching any more episodes this season. If things play out better than expected, I will catch up on re-runs. Until this happens, if it does happen, I will no longer be watching. I will rely on spoilers and episode summaries to fill me in on what I am missing, or not missing.

If I was Logan I would be beyond pissed that she would even suggest that he would ever keep her from being her own person. She must be confusing him with her mother.
