The only way MC could not appear in 7.22 and have it be "all right" but certainly not optimal is, if Logan decides to accept a position in 7.20/21 and move farther away then the "tri state" area -- or whatever they call the Connecticut/NY/??? area -- and Rory decides to follow him in 7.22 after angonizing over it. Sort of like a "Good Will Hunting" type of ending.

Ahh Good Will Hunting was on my top 5 films list.

When I saw the movie I wanted it to see Will knock on Skyler's door and it end with a hug.

Yes, it is called the tri-state area. Also, nice idea for an ending, and the optimism is as refreshing as a Fresca. Nevertheless, the real Skyler broke Damon's heart, and married Lars Ulrich. Whose heart she broke later on after their marriage. True story.

You mean that if Matt doesn't appear in 7.22 it would mean that RL would be broken up? Not necessarily: RL can be still together and Logan only be mentioned in the finale, for instance, while Rory is packing her things with Lorelai to move away and, off screen, meet him. We still don't know where Logan will be living and working now that he quit his family business.

I disagree, Sarah. I think Rory has shown multiple times this season how much she loves Logan and wants their relationship to work, just like he has. The sex texting, that was initiated by her. The entire reason she got upset with him recently was because she wanted him to rely on her more, which is about loving him. The "Gilmore treatment" for his birthday, that was all about loving him and wanting to give him something his family never had.

They're just different people, but they both have expressed their love for one another on screen this season. Quite nicely.

Jason, yes, they endure. What I was hoping for this season was more than enduring, I was hoping to see them flourish. Which they haven't been able to do with the limited screen time devoted to Rory.

No, it's been a disappointing year because in S5 MC was in 15 eps--in all of which he and KAB had scenes on the same sets. In S6 MC was in 18 eps--in all of which he and KAB had scenes on the same set. In S7 MC will have at most 17 eps (1 less than last year) and 7.01, 7.03, and the laugably brief 7.04 he and KAB shared phonecalls (2, 1 & 1 respectivly).

It been a disappointing b/c THEY'VE WRITTEN FEWER SCENES WITH Rory & Logan (the whole point of this thread) TOGETHER. The makeup after MF wasn't even onscreen.

The fact that VOLTRON ENDURES is what we want, they've just had KAB & MC together less than in S5 & 6

When Luke's last name becomes Gilmore and he has chromosomes that match then he'll be more important than Rory! This season has sucked as far as Rory goes. And I don't care what ASP could handle and produce in the past, this season has been about a single thing, L/L/C, and nothing seems to indicate it will ever be about anything else.

It's true that we had some great RL moments (like in 7.05 and 7.15), but overall, not only RL relationship, but everything about the characters Rory and Logan as individuals lost importance in the show if compared to anterior seasons.

I think this has most to do with Lauren Graham having so much input and power over this season and Alexis' indifference over the storyline and the nuts and bolts. They changed the focus of the show to be wholly around Lorelai and just shoehorned in Rory like an after thought. (A competent showrunner would have ensured there was a balance and not succumb to the dominant influence on the set.) This is not ASP's show and I can't take anything beyond season 6 as canon. That's why I can't get excited or care about speculating beyond the next couple of episodes, if that.

One of the other message boards I'm deeply invested in changed format to the type of message board we have here with avatars and smilies and different fonts. Members are trying to adjust and discovering their inner personalities coming out in all of this. it's so much fun to see it and teach them, when I am such a newbie myself. I'm loving it. So glad it happened at this time when I am disengaging from this show in the next couple of months.
