I guess you could even go so far as the image of Rory trying on Logan's ring, and smiling. (What was that about?)
I think when I get the DVDs I will throw out the last disc as I would imagine that 7.18 (a good enough ending for me) would be on the second last disc. I can then pretend that the last few episodes never existed.

The last disc should be 7.21 and 7.22 so you should be safe tossing that disc. the end of 7.20 wasn't a terrible ending. I would personally end the series at Rory trying the ring on.

George, I hope the asshat who decided Rory and Logan should not get engaged...reveals his/herself at some point. Since I want someone to be held accountable for this level of shenanigans. After something HAWK shared with me the other night. It could easily be Kim. Who has a very negative view of love.

If that is true, that is quite disappointing indeed. I just wished they had gone with Matt's "soulmate friends" thing ('cause believe me, that horrid thing in 7.21 was not it.)

Ah, well, we'll always have fanfic; and as I said in the other thread, a fair portion of our time in this life is dealing with how to best cope with disappointment.

By all accounts KAB does NOT make demands--she is too meek. However she is quoted on TV.com as saying:

Alexis: Love is not the way it is in the movies, and it's not some idealistic, huge, fantastic thing...It's very real and personal and not what we're taught in society at all.

Which does not mean she wanted RL to break up. But, even if KAB did want the break-up, DSR is responsible.

In terms of KAB quote, the love is personal and not a fairy take that's what Rory and Logan at least up until the middle of 7.21 had a love that was real and personal. It wasen't a fairy tale they had issues that they worked out.

Insider: 'Girls' dumped ET actor from finale

By TERRY MORROW, morrow2@knews.com
May 11, 2007

Don't tell me the reason that you're calling
Is to see if I'm all right since you've been gone
'Cause I know you, and I know why we're talking
You're wanting me to say I'm barely hanging on
Well, maybe that was true for a night or two
But now, I got better things to do
-- "Better Things to Do," Terri Clark

* GIRLS, GIRLS GIRLS. "With this kind of career, you never know what's going to happen," actor Matt Czuchry of Johnson City told the Insider in January. Well, now he knows.

Matty's days as Logan on "Gilmore Girls" on the CW are over. The family drama will air its series finale on Tuesday, and he won't be part of it, according to unconfirmed reports. Not being in the finale is an unceremonious goodbye for Matty, who has been on "Gilmore" for three seasons.

Logan's last scenes were in this week's episode, in which he asked his girlfriend, Rory (Alexis Bledel), to marry him and she turned him down.

So what happened with Matt and "Gilmore"? Well, the Insider would like to know, too. For almost a week, the Insider made repeated attempts to reach Matty by phone for comment, but the actor wasn't returning calls -- at least not by deadline.

On the Internet, fans were not pleased that he and his character were dumped so quickly.

"His absence in this season (series) finale upsets me," a fan named Julie posted on buddyTV.com.

On the same Web site, fan Sue wrote: "How can they not have Matt Czuchry in the finale? That is just crazy. ... I only hope that 1: They filmed an alternate finale ending. 2: Matt Czuchry will be back in an 8th season. He's the sole reason we kept watching after season 4. And they have totally underused him this year already. What are they doing to this show? Very upsetting!"

Another Web site, matt-czuchry.com, has closed, with a note from the former webmaster explaining she was "over running this fan site."

Matty can't be all that surprised that Logan was brushed off. In January during a chat with the Insider, he speculated that Logan might be on shaky ground if the series was going to end once and for all.

At the beginning of this season, Logan was sent packing to London and was seen only in brief scenes of telephone conversations with Rory. It doesn't bode well when your character is given that kind of long-distance relationship.

Apparently he knew the writing was on the wall. Just weeks ago, he shot a pilot for a series called "Gravity." The drama, in which he would star, focuses on the career of a first-year Los Angeles police officer.

According to futoncritic.com, the CW is eyeing "Gravity" as a possible midseason series for 2008.

The Web site also reported that the series "chronicles, in a cinema verite style, the daily lives of a sexy ensemble of rookie cops and their training officers in Los Angeles."

Obviously, Matty did "Gravity" with the idea that his "Gilmore" days might be numbered.

Outside of acting, Matty is eyeing a writing project. He's co-writing a feature-film script, though it's too early to tell if anything will come of that.

He told TV.com that he has ambitions to direct, too. "It's a completely different way of thinking, whether it be writing or directing or acting, and yet they're kinda all tied together," he is quoted as saying.

"It's definitely a different skill set, and there are different things you have to apply when working in those different areas. So I still have a lot left to learn in all three of those areas, but they are something I am working towards and just love learning about all those different areas."

Whisperings

* BACK ON THE BEAT. Oak Ridge native Mitch Rouse, who can be seen as Ryan each week on ABC's "According to Jim," turns up on the season finale of Comedy Central's "Reno 911!" He has a connection to officer Trudy Wiegel (Kerry Kenny-Silver) and her baby.

"Reno 911!," which also co-stars former Farragut resident Ben Garant, airs at 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

* WORDS TO LIVE BY. "OK. This is a big pain, and I'd really like it to go away, please." -- Chelsea Brummet (as young Lorelai Gilmore), "Gilmore Girls"
knoxnews

there's also a promo pic from season 5 of rory/logan with the following caption: Better days: Alexis Bledel and Matt Czuchry played opposite each other on "Gilmore Girls" before her character, Rory, gave his character, Logan, the brush-off.

I'm listening to the podcast. Not much on Rory or Logan but atleast they thought it was handeld poorly.

But it was funny that MA confirmed that LG and DS dated!

ETA: oh when they read the letters they were all about how they hated it, hated that everyone will be happy without Logan. MC didn't like that Logan's last scene willl be him walking away angry. Everyone really hated it, the way Rory and Logan broke up. So atlest that's good.

they read an e-mail about someone upset about how logan ends the season, where they start to say that they botched their story, and after three years it was abrupt. someone said the all or nothing was ooc and liked that she questioned herself. they said logan's going to become an internet billionaire on the west coast. with his avocados. ausiello felt that it was wrong for him to walk away angry.

They really didn't seem to like the episode, and that the R/L breakup was handled badly.

Thanks for the podcast link wej! I am happy that non-Logan and non-R/L fans found this storyline to be contrived and out of place. I agreed with a lot of the mail call items that were read.....I loved that someone actually said that Lorelai and Rory are forever ruined in their eyes and that LG and KAB would be stuck in two bit movie roles. I agree 100% with them. However, the girl who said that she doesn't understand the Lorelai backlash should carefully analyze Lorelai's scenes from the episode.

captnerin, thanks for the article! I think this tells us all we need to know about DSR. He had no respect for the character of Logan or R/L. We all suspected this, however, it is now confirmed. Thank goodness we did not get season 8. It is sounding like it would have been even worse than this season, and I did not think that could be possible.

I thought of something today as I was writing on the Trollop Board. Off screen Rory will never get Logan out of her head she will keep hearing about him. I am sure at every dinner that Rory is going to have with E/R, Emily "why did you say no to that nice young man" If Logan gets married or engaged Emily will tell her about it, I know she not friends with the Huntzburgers anymore but she knows gossip. When her grandparents give her another Yale men party or a party with eligible rich men, and there will be no Logan to rescue she will miss him. When someone in her family has a another health crisis she will miss him.

Especially if it's Lorelai Victoria that has the health crisis. Who is she going to lean on then? E/R, sure, but she doesn't have that tight intimate bond.

I have a question for those with spoiler sources, if they know and can "release" that information.

When we found out Logan was "done and gone", was that also including S8, or would we have seen him then?
