| German Thread #1:We Already Talk In The German Threads, But We Want To Make It Legal. Bisherige SPOILER bisherige LOST Spoiler Wenn ihr die neuen Promos sehen und hören wollt findet ihr sie hier
die Message ist ziemlich simpel: Everything happens for a Reason Quote:
07/19 - More screen time for Sun and Jin, I'm hearing. Rose will not die. Source: Kristin on E!Online
07/12 - The female death is not going to happen until at least October, I’m told. I’m not aware of what will happen to Rousseau, but can tell you, that’s not whom I’m talking about. ABC says Maggie's (Shannon) role on X-Men will not affect her role on Lost (a role she now it seems didn't get). Source: Kristin on E!Online
07/09 - Season 2 teaser updated with cast: The Golden Globe nominated drama returns for a second season where the remaining survivors of Oceanic Flight #815 struggle to break free from the clutches of the deserted island. The band of castaways discovers new mysteries and fall victim to the unexplained forces that lie in wait. Jack’s calm leadership and quick-thinking coupled with Kate’s cunning spirit gives the group hope for an escape, but even the most well-intentioned heroes have secrets. This action-packed adventure brings out the very best and the very worst in the people who are lost. Cast: Naveen Andrews: Sayid; Emilie de Ravin: Claire; Matthew Fox: Jack; Jorge Garcia: Hurley; Maggie Grace: Shannon; Josh Holloway: Sawyer; Malcolm David Kelley: Walt; Daniel Dae Kim: Jin; Yunjin Kim: Sun; Evangeline Lilly: Kate; Dominic Monaghan: Charlie; Terry O'Quinn: Locke; Harold Perrineau: Michael; Michelle Rodriguez: Ana-Lucia. Source: ABC
06/28 - A female will get killed of, and it's not Rousseau. I know for sure Sawyer and Jin will be back, and I'm also hearing Michael and Walt will be back. But that's not to say that everyone will be back for the full season . As I'd mentioned, they all have clauses in their contracts that they can be written off at any time. Gulp. I've heard that Walt is not planning on coming back until a little later in the season ... I'm assuming he might be missing for a while. Source: Kristin on E!Online
06/15 - With Ana-Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez) turning up alive, the chances Rose' husband is alive too are pretty big. Maggie Grace (Shannon) being cast in X-3 does not affect her position on Lost says ABC. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
06/14 - Quotes from Lindelof and Grillo-Marxuach at a Lost convention: We won't kill sawyer. The theory of all the survivors being dead is not true. The plane did not crash by accident, it crashed for a very specific reason. But he dismissed speculation that someone aboard the plane caused the crash. What's in the hatch will have an effect on Locke. The rear section of the plane - and additional survivors - will be discovered during the second season. The people who kidnapped Walt, the young boy, are the "others" on the island. Source: The LA Times (Thanks E Buccieri for the tip.)
06/14 - I believe Mira Furlan (Rousseau) will be back but so far, not full-season contract.... JIN IS ALIVE!!!!! ANd I hear he's getting an ever BIGGER part next season. one final note to those of you freaking out that Naveen Andrews is going to be written off: I really don't think Sayid dies. That is not the cast member I was talking about who's getting written off around October. Source: Kristin on E!Online
06/08 - Rodriguez's presumed-dead passenger will turn up very much alive on the island next season. There has been talk of a Lost CD, but nothing concrete at the moment. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
06/07 - Josh Holloway will be back! I hear that first episode next season they are going DOWN the hatch, so hopefully we will finally SEE the light! Malcolm David Kelley will be back to work on Lost next season. But there are definitely issues with his rapid aging (remember, each season is only 40 days), so don't be surprised if a big twist is in the making. Someone wants of the show, and it's not certain it's a 'he'. Greg Grunberg's scene as the pilot was cut for time from the finale, but it'll appear on the dvd, coming out September 6. Source: Kristin on E!Online
06/07 - All footage in the trailer on oceanic-air.com is from last season. That site is actually is the brainchild of ABC and Disney . not the producers. Though that fake script page did come from the production office. So, although it definitely does have clues about the show, my advice would be to not put TOO much weight into anything. Still, there's a ton of great stuff on that site. Source: Kristin on E!Online
06/06 - According to Lost's publicist, the rumours about Samuel L. Jackson playing Bernard on Lost (started at the guest stars page on IMDB) are NOT true. Source: Ausiello @ TV Guide podcast
06/06 - Michelle Rodriguez has come aboard the second season of ABC's hit castaway drama, playing Ana-Lucia Cortez, another passenger on the doomed Oceanic Airlines flight 815. Source: Variety
06/02 - Sharp-eyed viewers may have noticed something about the people on the boat, but if not, [Josh] Holloway says, "There were twins, which I don't know if you could tell. They were identical twins, which was really spooky. There again, that wasn't emphasized." Source: Zap2it (Thanks E Buccieri for the tip.)
06/01 - Remember the fellow passenger Jack met in the airport cafe prior to boarding the doomed flight? You know, the one played by Michelle Rodriguez in the May 18 episode? Well, there's a big - no, make that huge - twist coming in Season 2 involving her. I can't say more than that. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
05/26 - They survived on luck. They survived on instinct. But on the other side of the island, they will discover they're not the survivors they thought they were. Source: Oceanic-Air.com [Note: This is an ABC website. You can view the teaser containing those lines by going HERE and then clicking on the row numbers (numbers at the bottom of the seating plan) 4-8-15-16-23-42. Enjoy the ride!] Please stop emailing us about the hidden features of that website because our inbox jammed packed! lol We have found all of the current ones. You can find the list of currently hidden features HERE. You can also find screen captures of all hidden features HERE. Thank you for your cooperation!
05/26 - Harold Perrineau said that the pirates who took Walt were "The Others". He also confirmed that Walt has powers. Source: Jimmy Kimmel Live (Thanks Matthew for the tip.)
05/26 - Lindelof: The words that Boone heard are definitely, "We're the survivors of Flight 815." That's also what Boone said, so it's up to the extrapolation as to whether or not his own words were being bounced back to him. Or is that transmission coming from somebody else claiming to be a survivor of Flight 815? [He also added] "If the season finale is about what they do to open up the hatch, I think it'd be fair to say that Season 2, at least in the beginning, functions on the axis of what they find inside. And how that revelation changes things." Source: TV Guide Online
05/25 - Jorge Garcia (Hurley) was on Z-100 radio in NY this morning and confirmed he will be back next season. Source: Z-100 (Thanks AJ for the tip.)
05/23 - [There will be a death in October.] Source: Kristin on E!Online
05/18 - Harold Perrineau revealed that the voice on the other end of the radio communication Boone made in the other plane will be dealt with next season. Source: ESPN Radio (Thanks Dano for the tip.)

Rory (Alexis Bledel) furthered her journalism career at Yale and got an internship at the paper owned by Logan's dad. Yes, that Logan (formerly Mr. Non-committal), now her full-fledged billionaire boyfriend. So what bigger news could be brought about by season 6? Well, both of the Gilmore ladies will have their worlds shaken and stirred, bonding mother and daughter closer than ever. Bring plenty of tissues and cappuccino mix because the 6th season will plop major life decisions onto their collective laps.

Season three finds everyone three months later, with many questions still to be answered. Entering senior year, Lucas finds his life as messy as ever as he balances his feelings for Brooke, with a recent summer that has drawn him closer to Peyton. With basketball season quickly approaching, his attempts to reconcile with Nathan grow more urgent. And since Dan stopped paying for his medication, Lucas searches for a way to treat his heart condition while continuing to keep it a secret from Karen.
Nathan's life is as turbulent as Lucas's. He has moved home but his family life is in shambles. So, too is his relationship with Haley. Nathan must decide whether the wounds of abandonment and mistrust can be healed or if they should both move on - still young enough to avail themselves to new experiences and other loves.
Aside from her troubles with Nathan, Haley struggles to find a way to balance music, school, love and friendship. Coming back isn't as easy as she thought it would be. While some friends will welcome her back with open arms, there are those that are still hurt by her sudden departure. Despite all her attempts to reclaim her old life, Haley may be forced to accept that some broken friendships may be beyond repair.
Peyton is recovering from the loss of Jake, from an isolation that led her to dabble with drugs, and from the loss of her mother - at least until Ellie appeared, claiming to be her mother. Confused and angry, Peyton confronts her father about Ellie and demands to know the truth. The answer throws Peyton into a tailspin as the one thing she's always had - the grief and certainty that her mother is gone - is compromised. Torn between loyalties for the mother she always knew, and desperate for answers from this new woman in her life, Peyton takes a journey into the unknown for answers to her past that may also be intricately linked to her future.
Returning from a summer in California, Brooke must decide how to respond to Lucas's declaration of love for her. Considering how fractured her emotions were the last time she committed to him, Brooke must choose between the girl she's become or a return to the old Brooke, the girl who would rather party and worry about life later - especially when new girl Rachel (Danneel Harris) comes to town to challenge her for high school supremacy.
The upcoming season will also deal with the question of whether Dan will survive the fire and the attempt on his life, considering almost everyone had a motive. Karen decides to pursue some new dreams while still dealing with old nightmares. With Andy still in New Zealand, Karen must decide whether she wants to return to him or remain in Tree Hill surrounded by the ghosts of her past. Deb struggles to stay sober, which becomes more difficult after being forced to deal with the aftermath of Dan's attack. Whitey struggles with his failing health and must decide if he is fit enough to coach the Ravens in pursuit of an elusive state championship.(The WB.com) October 5, 2005. Season Premiere.
Episode 3.1 : From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea
Karen's Cafe looks more like a music store than a cafe. It is definitely Peyton's art hanging around on the walls. There are even lava lamps and huge speakers. Lucas has remodeled the cafe during Karen's absence, but it will go back to the way it was before. Karen hates the changes and she makes Lucas change things immediately.
Lucas/Brooke/Karen have a scene at the airport. Lucas is there to pick up Karen. Something happens to upset Brooke because she walks away from them in a huff.
The Deb/Nathan/Haley porch scene: Nathan asks Haley why she is there and Deb does say something like, "Let's go. Something urgent has happened." Nathan goes with his mom and leaves Haley standing on the steps, but Deb tells her to go with them.
Dan/Karen have a scene at the cafe. His face looks fine (no evidence of burns or anything). It is unclear if this is a flashback or not.
Peyton/Haley have a short scene at the cafe.
As noted by the Fanbolt poster, there is a new Larry Sawyer. Larry has a scene with Karen. Kevin Kilner is the new actor playing Peyton's father.
According to a poster at OTH Fans.com, Lucas and Peyton have a scene together in the premiere where they are walking and Lucas puts his arm around Peyton.
Brooke and Haley will be sharing an apartment this season. At the end of the premiere, Haley sees the infamous pink wall and she shows up at Brooke's with her bags.
Nathan does go to the High Flyers camp. Those scenes will be shown in flashbacks.
Dan Scott Motors does burn down. (OTH Fans.com) Episode 3.2 First Day on a Brand New Planet (October 12, 2005)
On Aug. 1st and 2nd, the show filmed some beach scenes at Wrightsville Beach. Possibly (not definitely) this could be some sort of end of the summer party. Lucas and Haley have some scenes together at the beach. Episode 3.3 Like you Like an Arsonist (October 19, 2005)
Nathan tells Peyton that he doesn't know what to do about Haley.
At school, Haley is teased about her rock star staus.
This is the episode that introduces Rachel. She expresses an interest in both Nathan and Lucas. Bevin tells her that Nathan is married. She immediately clashes with Brooke. Episode 3.4 An Attempt to Tip the Scales (October 26, 2005)
There is a costume party at Tric.
Peyton is dressed as a goth angel and Brooke is the devil. Nathan is Batman. Mouth is John Travolta. Haley is "bad girl" Sandy from "Grease. Lucas is Tommy Lee and Rachel is Pamela Anderson.
Fall Out Boy plays at the party.
Peyton yells at Haley for running off and not calling Nathan.
Nathan swoops in and saves Haley when she drops a tray of glasses.
Rachel and Brooke brawl over Lucas.
Rachel asks Lucas to dance unless he's seeing someone. Lucas replies, "No, not exclusively."
(Thanks to Ruby Slippers for these spoilers.) 3.5 A Mulititude of Casualities
General Spoilers:
The show built a new set for a store at the mall. The store is called, "Suburban Filth. (The WB.com message board)
There will be a second OTH soundtrack in the spring. It will coincide with a Peyton storyline
Casting News
Tyler Hilton is returning to the show as Chris Keller. Supposedly he will start filming again some time around the end of September.
Danneel Harris (One Life to Live) plays Rachel, a new cheerleader who immediately clashes with Brooke.
Sad news for all Andy Hargrove fans: there are no plans to bring back Andy for One Tree Hill's third season. There's always a chance Kieren Hutchison may make a limited appearance, but at the moment that seems unlikely. (from Kieren Hutchison.com).
Mekia Cox (“Kenan and Kel”) will guest star as Faith, a young African-American girl who has crafted her identity around her mother's inability to remain in one place too long. While confident, smart and talented, Faith wrestles with difficulties of fitting in and constantly being uprooted each time she does. (from Futon Critic.com)

EPISODE 2.1 Spoilers from www.neptunesite.com
Episode #2-1: "Urine Trouble" Name may have been changed to "Normal is the Watchword"
Air Date: September 28, 2005
Guest Stars: Naima Mora (Journalism Teacher), Alona Tal (Meg Manning), Max Greenfield (Deputy Leo), Charles Duckworth (Kelvin)
- A young man named Kelvin was kicked out of the school's athletic teams for failing a drug test. The only problem is... he's been clean for ten months! He asks Veronica for help, but she tells him that she doesn't do the detective thing anymore. She's working as a hostess in a restaurant.
- Kelvin makes a reference to Veronica being an "09er" now, with an 09er boyfriend. He says she slipped right back into the crowd.
- Someone refers to Logan as Veronica's boyfriend. Logan comes up behind her and kisses her on the back of the next, right in front of Duncan, who Veronica is talking to at the time. Logan and Duncan aren't talking anymore. Guess those things happen when your best friend starts dating your ex, or his father kills your sister. (probably a flashback)
- This is Veronica's senior year of high school.
- Veronica and Meg are no longer friends, ever since Duncan broke up with her. Meg blames Veronica for the break-up.
- Charisma Carpenter has joined the cast as Dick Casablancas' dad's trophy wife, and Steve Guttenberg has joined the cast as well. Click here for the press release.
- Naima Mora, winner of "America's Next Top Model" is the new journalism
teacher.
- Kelvin isn't the only one that fails a drug test. Wallace gets kicked off the basketball team, and even Meg Manning gets cut from the cheerleading squad. Veronica decides to help out.
- Logan and Veronica were still dating during the summer, but at some point Veronica breaks up with Logan (who takes it pretty hard) and Duncan breaks up with Meg (who also takes it pretty hard) and Duncan and Veronica hook up again. Duncan rather publicly professes his love for Veronica. (probably at a baseball game.)
- Weevil and Veronica may have a falling out due to her suddenly becoming
an 09er again.
- The new journalism teacher takes some kids including Duncan and
Veronica on a field trip. This may or may not be the bus that goes over
the cliff in Episode #2.
- Neptune High School has metal detectors now.
EPISODE 2.2 SPOILERS from www.neptunesite.com
Episode #2-2: "Driver Ed"
Air Date: October 5, 2005
Guest Stars: Steve Guttenberg (Woody Goodman), Alona Tal (Meg Manning)
- Sounds like Duncan and Veronica are a couple in episode 2. An 09er asks Veronica if she and Duncan are going to Logan's party.
- The main story is sad. A bus full of kids have gone over the side of a cliff. The police say the driver committed suicide (taking the kids with him). His daughter goes to Neptune High and wants Veronica to prove her dad didn't kill himself, for insurance reason. Veronica finds out that he didn't; the "suicide note" that police found on his computer is actually a letter to his wife telling her that he's leaving her for another woman.
- The woman who had an affair with the bus driver is telling Veronica about having regrets about not being with the man she loved before he died. The next scene has Veronica going to see Duncan in his hotel room.
- Woody Goodman tries to get Keith to run for sheriff.
- Woody is volunteering as a little league baseball coach.
- Meg is not too happy about Duncan and Veronica being together.
- Meg is on the bus that goes over the cliff, and is reported to be the only survivor, but she is in critical condition. Duncan and Veronica blame themselves for it, as the reason Meg is on the bus has something to do with Meg being mad at them.
- Weevil has a run-in with Veronica.
- Logan was in jail for supposedly stabbing one of the members of Weevil's gang. The case is dismissed for lack of evidence which has everyone in an uproar. Weevil argues that it's another case of a rich white kid getting off free, but Veronica questions how it is possible for Logan to have done it when Logan was completely roughed up that night with broken ribs and such.
- Veronica suggests it was someone inside the gang who may have done it.
- Don't fret for Logan; apparently he's having a fling with another female recurring character from Season Two. (Possibly Charisma Carpenter - Dick and Beaver's stepmom.)
- Wallace gets in on some detective work action.
- Popular director Kevin Smith (Clerks) plays a convenience store clerk named "Duane Anders", who was the last person to see the bus driver alive before he drove off the cliff.
EPISODE 2.3 SPOILERS from www.neptunesite.com
Episode #2-3: "Cheatty Cheatty Bang Bang"
Air Date: October 12, 2005
- Duncan and Logan get into a fight.
- The school nurse who treats them after their fight thinks they are fighting over a girl, but when she leaves Logan says "I hate him too, you know." Probably about Aaron.
- Beaver and Dick's dad gets a visit from the SEC (Securities & Exchange Commission), after which he runs through his office screaming "Shred it all!"
- There is a school dance; Jackie shows up "emotionally and pharmacologically messed up" and an 09'er named Matt takes advantage of her.
EPISODE 2.4 SPOILERS from www.neptunesite.com
Episode #2-4: "Green-Eyed Monster"
Air Date: October 19, 2005
- Veronica is back working the desk at Mars Investigations.
- Duncan and Veronica try to visit Meg in the hospital. Meg's parents see them and flip out at them, upset because it seems to be their fault she's in there.
- Meg's still in a coma but the doctors are optimistic about her brain scans.
- The MotW involves a woman hiring Veronica to find out what her soon-to-be fiance does with his time. Veronica gets a prosititue named Candy to bait him.
EPISODE 2.5 SPOILERS from www.neptunesite.com
Episode #2-5: Title Unknown
Written By: Cathy Belben & Phil Klemmer
Air Date: October 26, 2005
- Michelle, a girl from Neptune High, goes on a psychic's TV show (Madame Anna) where she is contacted by the spirit of her friend Tiffany, who died on the bus. Veronica swears to destroy Madame Anna.
- Michelle received a voicemail from Tiffany just as the bus went off the cliff.
- Duncan and Veronica are still together (as of the middle of the episode).
- Logan and Duncan are working on their friendship, hanging out in Duncan's hotel room playing video games.
- Jackie's dad, Terrance, is a famous baseball player, who is being blackmailed by someone in jail for owing someone a lot of money. Sherriff Lamb takes advantage of this fact to get him to do favors for him.
- Jackie asks Veronica for help after her credit card is declined at Madame Anna's.
- Veronica visits Madame Anna on her TV show and gets a "message" from Lilly's spirit. It is embarrassing. Veronica has been set up by someone.
Details from writer Cathy Belben's blog - Posted Here August 8, 2005:
- "I’m excited because my episode takes place during Homecoming Week, and features two break-ups, a kidnapping, a crazy psychic, and a girlfight. Sadly, but unsurprisingly, my episode has no sex," Belben wrote in a July 22 entry.

**SEASON FINALE**
Sandy must make a life-changing decision to save his and Kirsten's marriage. Seth, Summer, Marissa and Ryan are caught in the crossfire at the Bait Shop, and Jimmy Cooper (guest star Tate Donovan), worried about Marissa and his family, rushes home to Newport Beach.
Guest Stars: Tate Donovan (as Jimmy Cooper)
Theresa's maternity leave comes to an end. We don't know exactly when though.
Meanwhile, on the off chance it should help in your supersleuthing, I'll share what Josh Schwartz (The O.C.'s boss and future husband of most of my single female friends) says of the Newport gang's season-ender on May 19. "We're just gonna get nuttier and zanier, and we're going to end the season with a real live cliffhanger," he reveals. "Unlike last year, which was a little bit more of an emotional cliffhanger that had to sustain us over a really long period of time, this year is gonna be a more honest-to-goodness 'I can't believe they just did that!' shocker." He laughs. "Now I have a lot of hype to live up to. I'm screwed."
05/10 - The season finale of "The O.C." is also coming out on Thursday, May 19, and Schwartz says, "Season finale is going to be big, and it's going to be emotional, and it's going to be exciting. It kind of reminds me of the Tijuana episode we did last year. It's going to have all the emotion of last year's finale, but with a lot more action. It's going to be pretty surprising. "I didn't turn in the last page. No one from the cast or the crew got the last page. There might be a couple characters coming back from the past, sort of revisiting the show, and I think not who everyone will be expecting to see." Source: Zap2it
From Ask Ausiello:
Question: Is it true that Oliver is coming back to The O.C.? — Bec
Ausiello: You mean the character formerly known as Josh Schwartz's Shameless Plot Device? Sadly, yes, I'm hearing he's coming back — and suffice it to say I'm not happy. The O.C. came thisclose to jumping the you-know-what when they introduced Marissa's deranged rehab buddy last season, and I thought Josh had learned his lesson. Luckily, it appears Ollie is just returning for the final episode, which, coincidentally, finds Seth, Summer, Marissa and Ryan caught in some kind of crossfire at the Bait Shop. Great, not only is Psycho Boy back, but someone went and gave him a gun?!?!
Question: I heard someone's gonna die on The O.C. — Bridget
Ausiello: It's true. My colleague Rochell Thomas thinks Linda Lavin's Nana is gonna kick the bucket, but my money's on Caleb. Consider the facts: The dude's already suffered a heart attack this season. Caleb's portrayer, Alan Dale, has been cast in a WB pilot, Bow. His death would make Julie heir to his fortune, setting up scads of juicy story possibilities as we head into fall. And last but not least, Gramps is a little old for The O.C. But that's just a guess.
Question: Love you, love the column. Any O.C. dirt? — Rebecca
Ausiello: Jimmy (Tate Donovan) returns in the season finale to be at his family's side during, um, a crisis (see above for more). Also, Sandy must make a life-changing decision to save his and Kirsten's marriage. It seems Mrs. Cohen starts hitting the sauce a little too hard.
Season Three Spoilers:
And, she hopes, like a real mother to Marissa and Kaitlin. Of her younger TV daughter, whose extended absence has been the fodder of jokes among "O.C." fans, Clarke hints that there may be a payoff next season.
"I think next year we'll all be pleasantly surprised to get a lot more information about what's going to happen with Kaitlin," Clarke says. "And from what I understand, she might miraculously have gotten older, too, but you didn't hear that from me.
"I've heard a few other rumors, but you probably wouldn't want to quote me on those. Josh is good at keeping secrets, but I feel pretty certain by the middle of next season, the audience will find out what's going on with Kaitlin."
05/10 - Regarding plans for next year, Schwartz says, "Year three, for us, is going to be senior year, so obviously that's a huge event in these kids' lives, and for their parents as well. So we'll be dealing with all sorts of things, like what does the future hold, college, graduation, all those kind of gigantic, kind of epic events in high school life." Source: Zap2it

'The O.C.' reloads
Tuesday, September 6, 2005
By Scott D. Pierce
Deseret Morning News
After more than a bit of a sophomore slump, the creator/executive producer of "The O.C." (Thursday, 7 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13) is promising that the upcoming season of the Fox show "will be our best season yet."
"There will be a wedding. There will be a funeral. There will be a bar mitzvah. There will be graduation," said Josh Schwartz. "There will be some old faces returning and some exciting new characters. I think we're not holding anything back this year.
Jeri Ryan is joining the cast of "The O.C." Not that he and his team were exactly holding anything back last season. But after breaking out into a genuine hit the year before, the problem was trying to repeat that success without repeating the same plotlines. And there were some rough patches in that bumpy ride.
And it's a tough task to make all the viewers happy.
"Every fan has a different thing they're sort of passionate about," Schwartz told TV critics in a teleconference. "Anybody you talk to has a totally different opinion about the show or what they watch the show for or what they want to see in the show. Some people want to know are Ryan (Benjamin McKenzie) and Marissa (Mischa Barton) going to be together. Some people really want to know are Seth (Adam Brody) and Summer (Rachel Bilson) going to be together or Sandy (Peter Gallagher) and Kirsten (Kelly Rowan), but it always seems to land back on sort of the core relationships that are the foundation of the show and will those stay together.
"That seems to be the most frequently asked question, along with Ryan's baby."
Well, if it's Ryan's baby that his ex-girlfriend gave birth to. Schwartz will neither confirm nor deny — although he did say, "That story line will resolve itself sometime in the near future."
Thursday's third-season premiere quickly wraps up the cliffhanger from last spring's second-season finale. Trey (Logan Marshall-Green) — who was shot by Marissa as he beat his brother, Ryan, is not dead, but he's in a coma. And there are legal problems for Marissa and Ryan as a result that, even when they're resolved, will "reverberate" through the season.
Eric Mabius joins the cast as the new dean at the Harbor school — "sort of 'Mean Dean,' as he's referred to" — who throws Melissa out of school in the aftermath of the scandal.
"It's going to put Ryan at odds with the dean. It's going to put Sandy at odds with the dean," Schwartz said. "He's going to be a really good, sort of new nemesis for our kids. He's also going to go after Seth and Summer."
And, with Marissa expelled, Taylor Townsend (Autumn Reeser) steps into the void as the "scheming, young, in-training socialite" who is going to clash with Summer. "It's a real sort of 'All About Eve' (relationship) between Taylor and Summer."
Kirsten is still in rehab, where she's made a new friend (played by Jeri Ryan of "Star Trek: Voyager," who will be around for at least seven episodes). Not that we should expect her to be a good friend.
"(Ryan) was really great and has the ability to be really sweet and really charming and turn on a dime," Schwartz said. "So she's brought a lot of that to the role and kind of played both at the same time.
In a few weeks, there will be a "new young, business partner" for Sandy as he takes over the Newport Group in the wake of his father-in-law Caleb's death. "He has to be careful that he doesn't become what he beheld and not turn into Caleb Nichol," Schwartz said.
While Julie Cooper-Nichol is expecting to inherit the bulk of her late husband's estate, she's "in for a bumpy ride" when his will is read. She's going to get back together with her ex-husband, Jimmy (Tate Donovan), at least for a while.
"Julie and Jimmy are going to make another run at it — but you know that Jimmy Cooper," Schwartz said.
"We're also looking to expand Summer's family. . . . You're going to see a lot more about her family and her dad and all of that."
And we'll be getting the now-traditional Chrismukkah episode — the Christmas and Hanukkah hybrid Seth came up with as the product of a Christian-Jewish marriage. This year it will be a "bar mitzvahkah, I guess is what you'll have to call it, which will be Ryan's honorary bar mitzvah," Schwartz said.
The young producer — he just turned 29 last month — feels like he learned something from taking the show from it first season through its second season — lessons he'll put to use in its third season.
"I just want to say that I'm really excited about this year. . . . I think it will be our best season yet," Schwartz said.

General Information About Supernatural
Supernatural's apparitions will reflect a commitment to folklore. In their travels, Sam and Dean will confront a Windigo, a man-eating creature from Native American lore; the hook man, the scary subject of many a campfire tale; Bloody Mary, a demonic wraith in the mirror; and a succubus, another kind of female demon.
McG, an executive producer for WB's Supernatural, seems more comfortable with the term horror, saying his show is designed to make it difficult to go to sleep after viewing. Joshand Jonas Pate, the twin brothers behind Surface, see their show as a family adventure and use the tag magic realism.
Like movies, TV shows sometimes are lured outside Los Angeles by cheaper costs. The Warner Bros. pilots for Fox's Reunion and the WB's Supernatural were both filmed in Los Angeles. But when the shows were picked up, the productions went to Vancouver, British Columbia.
