HOTTEST NEWCOMERS 2005: Adrianne Leon (Brook Lynn) MAIL: GH watchers loved J/C's wedding. A letter dissing on Ric/Reese's love scene and complementing Sonny/Reese. Late-Breaking News "END OF THE LINE FOR GH'S DURANT?" Is he paralyzed or not is the final question, seemingly he'll maybe fake it. Carolyn Hinsey's two cents... She's bummed about GH not doing whatever it takes to keep KW. She enjoys KS in the role of Maxie, but now Maxie isn't Maxie and Felicia isn't Felicia in this story rooted from the past. All the air just went out of this story. She says Michael probably wouldn't need a shrink if he didn't hear the horrible things coming out of peoiples mouth about his mom/dad everyday - worst offender: Jason. Leave it to Alexis to conjure up a ffake romance for the woman her husband already just slept with. Quotes Alexis commenting on Reese's attributes. He IS faking it, I bet-to get closer to Carly/Mikey. Here's more from that article and other tidbits: Pratt says the Bobbie/John stuff will lead to a story with Carly/Mikey and John trying to get them back in his life? End of the line for Durant? Not according to Corbin, whose hard boiled prosecutor was shot in the back and left paralyzed after surgery, prompting Internet speculation that the actor is on his way out “ I was just saying to Everyone in this town hates John, and was told Great, that means you’ll be around a long time” Laughs the actor “ John is wearing out his welcome. But I think if they ever get rid of him, there’d be 20 people to shoot him” “It’s going to be a medical malpractice story and Durant is going after, of all people, Carly’s mom, Bobie” previews Pratt “ eventually , his plans will change and focus more on Carly and Mikey, and how he can bring Carly back into his Orbit” Until then, expect Durant to make more lives miserable “ it’s the first time since I’ve been here that my story has moved away from Sonny” says Corbin “ The focus here turns to Bobbie. He’s more interested in going after Bobbie for paralyzing him during the surgery than finding out who the shooter is. Since Carly has turned against him, he’s laying that on Bobbie. He’s saying she botched it because she wants revenge. And, he’s pissed off at her because she never told him she had conceived a child. All of that is coming out now” But is there more than Durant is letting on? “ I’m playing it one way, and that will be up to the viewers to figure out.” Berson says “ Is he paralyzed? Or is this another thing John does? Whatever it is , this time it’s Personal” Also, JB on CarLo/Lo: Question: Was marrying Lorenzo the right thing to do ? JB- "We’ll find out! (laughs) Carly’s led by her heart. She’ll do something and then think about it. But she’s fiercely loyal to somebody who does right for her, which he has. " More on the Pruza Interview from SOD: SOD comments that GAP just passed the three year mark as a head writing team and asks if they celebrated. Pratt responds that they didn't celebrate because their job is continuous and instead of measuring by anniversaries, they measure by things like Emmy wins. "And by the ratings..." SOD asks them to compare the job now to three years ago. Pratt says that at the beginning they are enthusiastic but it's overwhelming and that it takes years to "get the show balanced the way you would like it" Then he says that a big portion of the show when he came on he could have "taken it or left it" SOD tried to clarify if he means cast-wise or story-wise and he something that vague that makes no sense but that now "we're only teling stories we want to tell" and he feels more in control. Guza agrees and adds that even thought they had both worked for the show before, they felt that they needed to make it their own. "And that's not in the arrogant sense of dominating the whole thing but investing in it" and then Pratt adds that their confidence comes from being trusted and left alone by the higher ups. Then Guza comments that they had worked in the past with JFP and Frons so there was a sense of reconnecting and it's less political "This is the most freedom I think I've ever had in daytime as a storyteller." SOD asks if there are any stories they wish they told differently. Guza pleads the 5th. Then he says that it has nothing to do with actors and him and Pratt take complete blame...and that they would have told the Dead Man's hand story differently. Pratt would have picked the same story and adds the Heather/Luke one and the Ross Duncan killing..."we had a great beginning and then it just fell in the toilet." He says that it served the purpose of advancing Luke/Skye, but he was watching his own work and wanted to fast forward. Then, Guza says that the audience can usually tell. "If we make a U-turn out of a story, you know we're going, 'This sucks.' This was a mistake and we hope no one will notice as we're going 180 degrees elsewhere" He comments that the pirate story was bad, but Pratt loved it and then Guza claims it was bad because it was too hard to produce what they really wanted it to be. Pratt comments on Dillon/Georgie...he thought a lot of their stuff would ******* but it turned out "hugely successful." And Guza says that actors save the writers a lot of times. Pratt says that he and Guza are hard on themselves even though a lot of soap writers aren't. Which leads to a quote that I am laughing too hard to type (about other soap writers)..."They fall in love with everything they do, and if the audience doesn't like it, then the audience is stupid and they blame them." Guza and Pratt have to get ideas past each other first and if they can get it by the other, they know it's good stuff. They fight like a married couple. SOD asks them where they get their ideas. Guza says that it usually starts with figuring out what the characters want and they try to keep the characters jumping through hoops to get what they want. Pratt loves to be a step ahead of the audience which is hard. Then SOD asks what they think each other's greatest storyteling strenghts are. They start joking around then Pratt says that Guza doesn't procrastinate or goof around and Guza says that Pratt is "endlessly inventive" and that they've got each other's backs. (I can't tell if they are joking in this part of the interview. They're weird) SOD asks what is the biggest challenge they are facing. Guza says "doing it over and over again; topping yourself". Pratt makes jokes about it depressing him to think about it. I have to quote this next part because I don't want to lose any of it by parapharasing. From Guza, "It is really hard and we're proud - bad stories aside - of what we've done and we think it's been reflected in the numbers." He gives JFP and Frons credit for giving them freedom. Pratt thanks JFP for involving them in things that aren't usually head writer decisions....like casting. Digest asks them to respond to criticism that the show is too violent. Guza says that for decades, the background of the show has been organized crime, so it's violent, but they (GaP) think it's important to the thems/setting of the show and "we really try to do it responsibly." "We try to show the consequences of the violence on the people who perpetrate it. Sonny is our best example. He's the most haunted character." Which of course leads to the question about the show being too Sonny-centric. Pratt goes on about how great a character Sonny is, says they don't write stories based on actors' guarantees, and that if something is working and the actor is good they go with it. Guza adds that the show isn't centered around Sonny, it's more centered around the mob. He uses the Sonny/Sam baby story as an example saying that story and the follow up to where we are now is a great umbrella story and it's not just Sonny's story, it;s Carly's and Sam's and Alexis's and Jason's. Digest asks about creating story for a younge audience and Guza says that since they each had two teenages it's not so hard. They aren't trying to make the show "hipper," they work out of the characters instead of doing what might be relevant, like a teen pregnancy. Digest says it was smart to bring in Kirsten Storms becasue of her Days fanbase. Frons had suggested her becasue he's a big fan (Must. Not. Comment.) and Pratt's kids knew her from Zenon. They think she's got chops and she's doing great. SOD asks why they decided to kill AJ. Guza says that no one just sais "Let's kill AJ" and they crafted this whole story with the Jason and the pregnancy (not sure which one their talking about) and the kidnapping and then decided that the only one who could have done it was AJ. Digest asks why not just have him be the kidnapper, why did they kill him. Guza says that with the things the character has done and they was they wrote him in the end, it was the only option. He claims that they thought about the fact that they were killing a huge legacy character, but it was the only option. SOD asks how did TB's exit impact their storytelling. Pratt: "In this case, it didn't at all. We wanted her to stay, but we totally understand her desire to try new things. So what we had to do was get our audience to invest in a new Carly...and to invest in Reese which has been the big bonus. The Sonny/Reese fans are coming out of the woodwork." Digest askes if that surprised them and Pratt says the is does because "the character is and FBI agent who came to town to screw over Sonny". Digest askes about new characters and Guza says that they are planning to introduce more new characters but they don't want to get into too much detail. One will "fill a spot that is not currently on the canvas." The last question is do they ever get sick of each other. Of course they say there is, but Guza says that there's "enough respect and enough mutual need" that is doesn't last and Pratt complains to his wife. Found these on OKM. Next weeks spoilers: Carly is hit with feelings of both rage and hurt when she finds out that Sonny asked Reese to move into their old penthouse across the hall from Jason. She admits to Jason that something is off with Reese, whom she feels is trying to take over her life. Sonny wonders how Reese knew something obscure about Carly's eating habits. Michael pitches a fit and rips up a picture of himself when he sees Sonny and Reese kissing. Worried about Michael's state of mind, Sam calls Dr. Thomas, who asks her if Michael killed A.J. Carly returns home to Lorenzo, who demands she not lied to him ever again. Courtney and Nikolas open up to each other.Worried that Sonny or Jason would act out, Sam keeps it to herself that Dr. Thomas figured out that Michael killed A.J. Carly and Sonny accuse each other of hurting Michael with their relationships with Lorenzo and Reese. Carly vows her love to Lorenzo and promises she'll make a change for the better. Alexis and Ric bicker about Durant's case against Bobbie but quickly quiet down when their baby kicks. Durant tells Lucky he'll have him fired from the PCPD unless he talks Liz into testifying against Bobbie. Lucky later admits to Nikolas that he feels emasculated by the fact that Liz is having Jax's child to pay off their bills. Tracy comes up with a way to save GH, Bobbie and the Quartermaines from Durant's lawsuit. Meanwhile, Ric is abhorred by Alexis' behavior Posted by Unfamous Loser: CG Spoilers for the week... M: Carly is furious to learn that Reese is moving into her former penthouse. Jason catches Carly in Reese's penthouse. Sonny is surprised when Reese is aware of Carly's habits. Em tells Nik (that) she needs to go to work. Maxie covers for Jesse. T: Mikey is upset when he sees Reeson kissing. Dr. Thomas asks Sam if Mikey killed AJ. Jason tries to stop Carly from searching Reese's belongings. Alcazar warns Carly never to lie to him. Alcazar advises Skye. Tracy maneuvers Luke away from Skye. W: Sam realizes that Dr. Thomas knows the truth but does not tell Jason or Sonny. Carly and Sonny accuse each other of hurting Mikey with their new relationships. Rexis argue. Durant threatens Lucky. Em moves back to Wyndemere. T: Maxie plans to help Jesse. Dillon finds Jesse in Maxie's room. Georgie finds Jesse unconscious and wounded. A memory of Dr. Thomas bothers Jason. Tracy devises a plan to save everyone from Durant's lawsuit. Brook Lynn feels threatened. F: Sonny tell Reese that he wants her to be part of his life. Carly hides her anger in front of Sonny but takes action against Reese. Georgie makes a decision about what to do with Jesse. | WooHoo new thread. Thanks NikNak. Re: Reese. I have no problem with the character. I actually got a kick out of her mouthing off at Carly the queen B last week. But this storyline is downright retarded and boring. Too bad the writers are making her go psycho. But then again Sonny deserves to get played. As for this Penthouse nonsense. Has Carly forgotten that all of Sonny's women have lived there. Lily, Brenda, Carly, Sam and now Reese .... Hell that was where little Krissy was conceived when Sonny & Alexis had their one nighter. So I don't see it as Carly's and Sonny's special place. So all this hoopla over it is retarded. Carly go home to our husband you claiim to love. Reese get over what little petty high school nonsense is caused you to get revenge on carly. Its childish and stupid. BTW, Jesse is cute and all, but this Zander and Maxie redux and now the ZEM redux with Maxie going on the road with him is really not doing him any favors . | I never really posted here before, but I found this over at Soap Zone. I didn't know if anyone had seen this yet. Thought you might be interested Summer’s here, and that means teens, a hurricane and more of Sonny Hospital. SPOILERS TO FOLLOW (with some heavy speculation from me): Don’t count Rexis/Reckless out yet. Their unborn baby, born, might change everything back to normal. All of Reese’s secrets – her one-night stand with Ric, her real identity as Charlotte – threaten to undo her hard-fought happiness with Sonny. In the meantime, Sonny and Reese take their affair to the next, serious level. The character of Jason, as well as his evolution post-car accident, are explored deeper and further. Maxie and Georgie survive their health crises, with their respective love lives more than intact. Maxie falls for a new guy in town, this Jesse person, who is really a renegade, undercover cop. Jesse and Mac conflict. Nikolas and Emily work hard at salvaging what’s left of their relationship. But they might find eyes for other people, like, Emily with Sonny, the one person – like with Jason – she feels she can confide in without judgment or expectation. The Sonny and Emily (Soily) thing is at the testing stage. Luke, Tracy, Skye and Coleman, plus a few other characters for added measure, play out the wacky, poignant notes of a contrivance gone serious. Some of the characters start feeling the effects, with real affection and jealousy. Elizabeth becomes Jax and Courtney’s surrogate, to help her and Lucky pay the bills and get out of debt. But Elizabeth and Jax might grow closer too, as a result, and that could be bad for Courtney and Lucky. Towards the end of summer, a hurricane devastates the town, throwing unlikely characters together and changing lives. It’s the Towering Inferno, Part II, with wind. | Oh, sweet lord. I have no verbage to describe my total and utter horror at Soily. It's just wrong, damnit. Wrong. I do, however, love the Maxie/Jesse possibility. That *should* make for some good Mac/Maxie/Felicia scenes. Apple falls not far from the tree, eh? The more I see of Luke,Tracy and Coleman, the better. I like those characters and it makes it all fun. Kill Reese now. Not in a week, not a month, don't send her to Ferncliff. KILL.HER.NOW. Do me, the viewer, a favor. Pretty please? As for Rexis, I guiltily admit, put 'em back together and I'd be a happy camper. I'd love to see them married, disagreeing and still staying together. They're more fun arguing together, than the angry looks and hurt feelings apart. And can I just say a teeny, tiny Woohoo! for post accident Jason.
