Ooooh. I knew they must meet this season, but interesting. That's clearly not actually when they MEET- they seem relatively familiar with each other (he goes right up and starts talking, it seems), and already comfortable enough to speak alone.

Also possibly related to this plot, there are set pics of Jon and Tyrion together, seemingly getting along.
  X I mean, if Jon and Dany team up, is it even fun to guess what will happen with Cersei? LOL. She doesn't have much of a chance against Dany. She has no chance against Dany AND Jon. __________________

I don't think the writers could drag things out until S8. Makes a lot more sense for them to meet this season and then S8 explores the consequences of those meetings, alliances, etc.

I figured they'd meet this season- I just don't think I expected, as the sources seem to indicate, that this happens very early on in the season. Then again, they don't have much time for the WW to hit full-force.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't keep things very quiet with a closed set or something considering this is a pretty highly anticipated meeting.
I hope we get a throwback to the 'bastard' comment/speech Tyrion gave Jon in s1. __________________

My guess is, when they start promoting the season, they'll hit the "Jon and Dany team up" angle pretty hard? It's somewhat difficult/expensive to ensure a closed set, and it limits what and where you can shoot, so they may have just figured it wasn't worth it.
