Originally posted by PeIcEs oF Me*  CTV Press release for season 4 Classes Begin at Degrassi September 7 on CTV Toronto, Ontario (September 1, 2004) CTV's internationally acclaimed and multiple award-winning original series Degrassi: The Next Generation returns to the Fall schedule for its fourth season; promising the most provocative and life altering story-lines ever. A special one-hour season premiere episode will debut Tuesday, September 7 at 8 p.m. ET (check local listings). Pre-empted the following week, the series will air back-to-back episodes (8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.) on Sept. 21 and again on Sept. 28 before settling into its regular 8:30 p.m. ET timeslot beginning Oct. 5. That's when Degrassi will air in tandem with CTV's other original half hour hit, Corner Gas (Tuesdays at 8 pm.). Last year, Degrassi was the most-watched all-Canadian drama series (2+) and the most watched Canadian drama amongst Adults 18-49 (Source: BBM). This year, the benchmark has been raised. The program's most provocative season yet promises to delve deeper into storylines and showcase the cast as they deal with the most challenging situations to date. In the one-hour season premiere special, it's a new year and Paige is called to testify in her rape case. Emotions run high as she must confront her attacker face to face. Meanwhile, family ties are put to the test when Craig receives an unexpected birthday present from his late father. "We're very proud of Degrassi and the position it's taken in the Canadian television landscape over the last three seasons," said Susanne Boyce, President of Programming for CTV and Chair of the Media Group. News on Season 4 From Stepehn Stohn: We have just heard from CTV and I wanted to share the good news as soon as possible. CTV has just ordered: Degrassi Cycle 4 -- 22 episodes 7/6/04 I just got back from Vancouver, and paid a visit to set this morning and there was a bunch of the cast there but the scene they were shooting focussed on Liberty--at the end of the take instead of saying what they were supposed to say the cast burst into singing "Happy Birthday" to Sarah! 7/11/04 Jake Epstein will be in the building, because he plays a key role in 411/412, but he may be too tied up filming to do the chat this time. p.s. Tomorrow is the final day shooting Episodes 409 and 410, and we get to use the outdoor hot tub for the second time (I think the first time was in 404!!) 7/30/04 Also, a BIG event is being planned for the entire cast in the United States 8/10/04 I've got to be in New York tomorrow so won't be able to post, so here's tomorrow's spoilers today!!! We are trying in every episode to mention Heather Sinclair one way or another! But will we ever show her, or even part of her????? And Kid Elrick is mentioned a lot too..... 8/16/04 Was just music-spotting the scene in 409 where Emma and Ellie and Sean and Jay are together at Wasaga Beach--some good stuff there--a bit emotional too!! 8/17/04 Hmmmm... so some of you think that Emma wouldn't ever be with Jay for more than a minute??? Well, well, well. Interesting. Sully was never part of the main cast and won't be playing any big part in Season 4... 8/28/04 At the cast and crew screening tomorrow we'll have a barbeque first then show four episodes... originally we were going to show the first four, but there has been so much interest in 407 and 408 that we've decided to show 401/402, 407 and 408... I've spent the last few evenings in the recording studio with Alexz Johnson and our music producer Dave Ogilvie working on the songs for Instant Star. Finalizing the mixes for the songs in the first two Instant Star episodes has been a priority (particularly if CTV really does decide to show sneak peaks at these two episodes)(I hope they do!), but also working on the songs for 105 and 106 which we start shooting right after Labour Day (those of you in the U.S. call it Labor Day) has been important... meanwhile of course we have been shooting 414 (Secret Part 1) and 415 (Secret Part 2) which I can't tell you about because of course it's a Secret!!!!! I can say though that we aren't able to hold the cast and crew screening in the gym set like we normally do, because it's all dressed up for the shooting of Secret, so we'e doing the screening in the mall set (but of course the barbeque will be outside in our backlot!! 9/11/04 ... the big event that was being planned in the U.S. has gotten postponed... don't know for sure whether it will really happen eventually or not. I believe though that there may be some events timed to the release of the DVD on September 28th, and if I find out anything about that I'll let you know!! 9/14/04 Tomorrow is day one of Degrassi 417 and 418 (“Queen of Hearts” and “Love Will Tear Us Apart”)... so that the Instant Star cast can do some press... then on Thursday and Friday we return to the final two days of Instant Star 105 and 106 (“You Can’t Always Get What You Want” and ”Kiss Me Deadly”) then on Monday we return on a regular shooting scheduleto 417 and 418!!! 9/26/04 We got an excited phone call from Boston where Mike Lobel (Jay) and Deanna Casaluce (Alex) were at the final mall tour of the summer, sounds like there was a huge crowd there!! These two play quite prominent roles in Degrassi this year. My my, only two days till eps 405 and 406 on CTV and only 5 days to GITM on The N--finally all the Americans will find out for real what's going on this year on Degrassi!! AND the DVD for Season 1 is coming out this week in the U.S. and next week in Canada!! 10/3/04 I am so glad at the positive response to 401/402, that is awesome. And some more positive news, last night we were at the Director's Guild Awards with about twenty of our crew (none of the cast were there, this is strictly for crew) and we won for Best TV Series--Family, which is great! My suggestion to the Canadians is: do not leave the room once you start watching it, even during the commercials. Just let it flow. The scenes in the middle were of course extremely difficult to film and edit... and the final scene was one that there was a lot of debate about exactly how to present it. In the end the final scene is deceptively simple, but very powerful, and features a musical piece by Canadian recording artist Melissa McLelland... 10/10/04 I have heard nothing which would suggest that The N is not going to air Time Stands Still. I'm pretty sure we would have heard by now if there was a problem airing it, and we have heard nothing, which I take to be good news! Last year The N took a break from Degrassi during November--if they do that again this year, then Time Stands Still will be delayed a few weeks at leaast--but I don't know whether or not that is the case this is just speculation on my part!! I was supposed to have dinner with the excellent folks who run The N (and by the way they are the nicest people you could meet, so even if you don't like how they schedule things that doesn't mean they aren't really nice people!!!) over in France last week, but at the last moment I had to cancel because of the huge workload here, still in the middle of shooting two series (and working with our writers who are re-writing the final three episodes of Degrassi to accommodate the very special guest who will be acting in them!!!) 10/18/04 Well Etalk Daily just confirmed that our Very Special Guest is indeed Kevin Smith (not that it was a very well-kept secret!) For those of you who are unfamilair with him, here is a mini-bio. He has always been an ENORMOUS Degrassi fan. Born and raised in New Jersey and very proud of it, this fact can be seen in all of his movies. His first movie, Clerks. (1994), was filmed in the convenience store in which Smith worked (and in which he used to watch a youth show on PBS called--Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High)(It features a character named Caitlin, named after the Caitlin character on Degrassi.). He was only allowed to shoot at night after the store closed. This movie won the highest award at the Sundance film festival and was brought to theaters by Miramax. The movie went over so well that Smith was able to make another movie, Mallrats (1995). This movie, as Kevin has said, was meant to be a "smart Porkys". Although it didn’t do well at all in the box office, it has done more then well on video store shelves and is usually the favorite among many Smith fans. During filming for the movie Smith met his new close friends and stars of his next movie, Ben Affleck and 'Jason Lee' and his new girlfriend, Joey Lauren Adams. Smith has said that his relationship with Adams has been much of an inspiration for his next movie, Chasing Amy (1997), Smith's comedy drama which won a few independent spirit awards (and which featureas a character sporting a Degrassi jacket.). Around the time that Chasing Amy was wrapping, Smith broke up with Adams, and then when the spirit awards were approaching he met his soon-to-be wife, 'Jennifer Schwalbach' . After Chasing Amy, Smith started on Dogma (1999), a controversial film about Christianity. Around this time Smith's wife gave birth to their first baby girl, Harley Quinn Smith. Harley Quinn and Jennifer both have roles in Smith’s next and newest film, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001). In this road trip comedy, the cult heroes, Jay and Silent Bob go on an adventure to stop the production of a movie being made about them, find true love, and save their monkey. Smith also has written scripts for such comics as Daredevil and Green Arrow. He also wrote a script for a new Superman movie but decided to leave the project. Smith has three more movies in the works for the next couple of years and has opened a comic book store, has a production company, writes articles for Arena magazine, and does short films for the Leno show. He has accomplished so much and he has only been around since 1994 10/22/04 Man, what a busy week. Kevin Smith was in town (he's gone again now, but will be back in a couple of weeks for the filming of 421 and 422), and there was a ton of press coverage of that... The good folks from Noggin were in town, and we were talking with them and CTV about a whole bunch of Degrassi stuff including what might happen in Season 5... There was a reporter from a really big American magazine in town for a couple of days interviewing everyone for a major spread... meanwhile we were in the recording studio with Alexz Johnson working on the Instant Star album... and making plans for the possibility of yet another major star in the season finale to Degrassi (I mean in addition to Kevin Smith and Jayson Mewes who as you know will be reprising their roles as Jay and Silent Bob in the final three episodes of the season)... and we've packed off another group of the cast to Vancouver for this weekend's mall tour.... and plans for a picture book all about Degrassi planned for release next fall have taken a huge leap forward... all in all a pretty busy week!!! Toby and Rick compete to see who can garner the most kisses. Spinner and Paige face the fact that their relationship isn't sugar and spice and everything nice. Although they've managed to ride out the peaks and valleys of their relationship in the past, this time it looks like it may be over once and for all. What's different this time, however, is that their breakup appears to be more Spinner's doing than Paige's. He can't get Manny out of his mind. He mocks her at her movie concession job. Both Hazel and, of all people, Paige's arch-nemesis Alex think Paige should stop letting Spinner treat her like dirt. By acting distant and insensitive, Spinner leaves Paige no other alternative but to break up with him. 4.07 Time Stands Still Part 1 CTV: October 5th The-N: December 3  (Credit: Icygrrl02 on FF and Icyblugurl from LJ) Rick leads the school's academic team to victory; and befriends Jimmy. Rick is tarred and feathered; Emma tries to console him. Degrassi's trivia expert Rick continues to find himself the victim of harassment at school. It seems as though the likes of Spinner, Jay and Jimmy will never forgive Rick for hitting Terri, and for being "different," and they appear to have fun by making Rick's life a nightmare. However, it takes two to tango, and Rick, despite his attempts to deal with his anger issues, shows some remarkably bad judgment when he spray-paints an X on Spinner's and Jay's cars. Jimmy begins to recognize the insanity of the back-and-forth exchange of attacks and insults, and he tries to build a bridge between himself, Rick and the guys. But instead of following Jimmy's lead in trying to keep the peace, Rick taunts Spinner and Jay with his crossed arms, mirroring the X he painted on their cars. The situation quickly escalates and becomes very serious, to the point where Spinner and Jay embarrass Rick in front of the whole school and Rick goes home, where he finds a gun. 4.08 Time Stands Still Part 2 CTV: October 12th The-N: December 10  (Credit: Icygrrl02 on FF and Icyblugurl from LJ) Rick shoots Jimmy and Sean, and then turns himself in. Rick returns to school intent on confronting his tormentors. After having been doused with paint and feathers at the moment of his greatest triumph, a desperate and tormented Rick decides to take matters into his own hands, even if that means bringing a gun to school. At first, Rick doesn't seem to have a plan, and when Paige tells him that she thinks the whole prank was immature and stupid, it seems like Rick takes her words to heart and any potential crisis will be averted. But when Spinner and Jay give Rick the impression that Jimmy, who Rick hopes to befriend, was behind the whole plan to humiliate him in front of the whole school, Rick's anger gets the best of him. He confronts Jimmy in the corridor and shoots him in the back. Then Rick runs into Emma, whose feelings of pity Rick misinterpreted for "love", and he points the gun at her. Sean intervenes and the gun goes off. Later, we (and Toby) shockingly find out that Rick has died. The school is left in shock. Mr. Simpson blames Mr. Raditch. Ashley calls Rick a "psycho." Paige and Hazel won't talk to Spinner. Toby, Emma and Sean have to come to grips with being held at gunpoint by Rick. Jimmy is in hospital, in a coma. Students hold a vigil outside the school. And it appears that Degrassi Community School has changed forever. 4.09 Back in Black CTV: October 19th The-N: TBA  (Credit: PeIcEs Of Me* on FF) Sean finds it difficult being a hero; Rick's funeral. Sean's discovers that he can no longer deny his repressed feelings of guilt over Rick's death. Returning to school after the shooting, Sean, now a minor celebrity for preventing Rick from shooting Emma, claims to be feeling no ill-effects from seeing Rick get shot before his very eyes. Then, after seeing his mother's interview on TV, in which she cries for her poor son, Sean becomes very angry. He feels her tears are all a big show for the cameras; she's playing the role of the unfortunate mother of a troubled son. On a whim, Sean decides to drive to his parents' town to confront them. Because of their history of alcohol abuse, Sean sees them as the source of all his problems. But when he arrives, he discovers that his mom and dad really do miss him. By now, Sean is an emotional wreck. He picks a fight with the boy he deafened years ago, and nearly drowns after falling off his rented sea-do. Amidst all the turmoil, Sean has a change of heart -- maybe his parents did what they had to do for his own good. And, despite recent events involving the school shooting, Sean has to accept that sending him away to Toronto, to Degrassi, was probably for the best. Once his anger fades and he's back in his mom's arms, Sean's feelings of shock and guilt over Rick's death rise to the surface. Despite the brave face he had been putting up to this point, Sean is deeply devastated by what he's been through. He feels somehow responsible for Rick's death. Sean realizes he can't go back to Degrassi. The only place he wants to be is at home with his parents. 4.10 Neutron Dance CTV: October 26th The-N: TBA  (Credit: PeIcEs Of Me* on FF) Paige falls for a new teaching assistant; Craig asks Ashley to join the band. Craig and Ashley get back together, despite their own concerns and those of some of their closest friends. With Craig's band Downtown Sasquatch floundering without Jimmy, and their recording date just days away, Craig turns to Ashley for input. This completely rubs bandmates Spinner and Marco the wrong way, making them feel like Craig has taken over the process. And they also suspect that, despite Craig's denial, he and Ashley will get back together. Similarly, when Ashley tells Ellie that she and Craig might get together, Ellie offers her straightforward opinion that "guys suck." At the backs of their minds, both Craig and Ashley - especially Ashley - know that getting back together might be too risky for their friendship. But, when the band is in the studio, after Craig bowed to Spinner and Marco's pressure and kicked Ashley out, the lyrics for the song they're recording, "Everything Is Dust" brings everything into sharp focus for Craig. It's all about Ashley. He ditches the band, tracks Ashley down, and lays it all on the line for her. He wants to be with her. Lucky for Craig, the feeling is mutual. 4.11 Voices Carry Part 1 CTV: November 2 The-N: TBA  (Credit: Icygrrl02 from FF and Icyblugurl from LJ) Craig gets carried away over Ashley's father's wedding. Craig is overwhelmed by his feelings of love for Ashley. Since they got back together as a couple, Craig has made Ashley the centre of his universe, even giving her priority over his music and his band. Ashley wants to believe the best in Craig, and she is convinced that Craig has changed. She has forgiven him for breaking her heart, despite what her mother thinks. Craig rents a hotel room, where he and Ashley finally say "I love you" to each other, before doing what people in love do together. Then, suddenly, Craig decides that he must propose to Ashley immediately. When he does, at Ashley's dad's wedding rehearsal party, Ashley is shocked. She admits that she can't just marry Craig on the spur of the moment. She doesn't want to move their relationship along as quickly as Craig does. Feeling rejected, Craig goes back to the hotel, where, in a fit of frustration, he trashes his room. Meanwhile, Ashley tries to call him. Is she reconsidering Craig's offer, or is she just concerned for Craig's well-being? We'll have to wait to find out! 4.12 Voices Carry Part 2 CTV: November 9 The-N TBA Craig's medical condition; Liberty and JT kiss. Craig battles with his inner demons. He rides a rollercoaster of emotions from having his spontaneous marriage proposal to Ashley rejected, then accepted, then announcing their engagement at Ashley's dad's wedding, which embarrasses Ashley. Ashley calls off the engagement, sending Craig into a fit, in which he confronts Ashley's mom, dad, and her dad's new husband, makes a scene at the wedding, then goes home, where Joey confronts Craig about his missing credit card. Craig loses all self control and, as he pummels Joey in a rage, Ashley enters to break it up. Both Joey and Ashley know that there is something wrong with Craig; this behaviour is out of character even for him, and they help Craig get the help he needs. He is hospitalized, diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, and by the end of the episode he has begun treatment for his condition. Ashley understands that Craig's outburst was the result of his sickness, and she promises to stay with him. It appears that Craig is the unfortunate victim of mental illness, and everyone close to him is giving him the support he needs. 4.13 Bark at the Moon CTV: November 16 The-N TBA Theme dance is held at school; Paige's crush on Matt. 4.14 Secret Part 1 CTV: November 23 The-N TBA Craig's prejudices about illness; Emma connects with Jay. 4.14 Secret Part 2 CTV: November 30 The-N TBA Emma disrupts the school play; Jimmy breaks out of rehab facility. 4.14 Eye of the Tiger CTV: December 7 The-N TBA Jimmy returns to school in a wheel chair; Danny's jealous of JT and Liberty. | -band practice -hazel asks paige to go to yoga, paige sees the yoga teacher then wants to go -craig is at the hospital talkin to jimmy about ashley and the band -at yoga class, marco is there too lol -spinner brings manny to band practice basically to piss craig off -paige at work talking to alex about Mr.O , and then he walks up and says hi..alex says paige should fo gor it -marco, spinner and manny talking, spin is angry, he thinks their just backup singers -liberty does an interview, but ash n craig answer all the questions and keep talking over marco and spin -marco and spin tell craig ash has to go -craig starts to tell ash that shes out but she says something then he kisses her then she sorta just looks at him and walks away commercial __________________ Stephanie | Visit Summerland |VOTE ASHLEE! | | |||

| Ok I made a few changes on the main thread. I changed pieces of me* pic of Back in Black to a pic without the words at the bottom. I kept the info saying you credited. I will do the same with the ND episode also. I also changed the dates for when episdoes Back in Black, Neutron Dance, and Voices Carry 1 and 2 to TBA(to be announced). I did that, because if any of you remember, there is a Degrassi marathon during the Christmas weekend. That means, a new episode probably won't be airing on Christmas Eve. So, I just put it to TBA until we know for sure when those episodes will air. If you think about it, they might make TSS and BIB combined seeing as BIB is the aftermath, but we will just have to see what the-n will be doing.  __________________ Richard Brancatisano owns! | -at the dot, marco and spin think craig told ash shes out but craig tells them theyre back together, spin and marco are mad and walk out -at yoga class, paige hears Mr.O making plans to go to a bar -ash tells ellie about the kiss, ellie tells her not to trust him -ash go to see craig to talk about the kiss -hazel and paige go to the bar with fake id's -band practice , spin tells craig he put manny on tambourine and marco has an accordian, they trying to force craig to tell ash shes out but he cant so they start playing the funny instruments -piage and hazel get into the bar, and she goes to talk to Mr.O, he intoduces paige to his gf, and then paige and hazel get kicked out -the band is at the recording studio , and ash asks if they are really gonna record with those intruments -ash asks craig whats going on, and craig tells her she needs to leave the band , he tells her he doesnt want her out but the band does, shes upset and leaves commercial Mr.O is pretty cute i guess __________________ Stephanie | Visit Summerland |VOTE ASHLEE! | | |||

| Even though I didn't get to see the episode, I did get to see the preview for Voices Carry and it looks like Craig goes on a rampage of sorts. Uh oh...I think Craig's finally sanpped? | |||
