I called Tristan having an STD the second it was confirmed he and Yates hooked up. I was sorta routing for that storyline, maybe even something al ittle bit more permanente like Herpes or something, but with the newly formed Triles, I hope it's either a scare or something that can be cured bc I want nothing to ruin the greatest of what Triles could be even though we know Miss Matlin will eventually....

I hadn't even thought about what Clare's cancer past would mean for this pregnancy. I know chemo can cause infertility but I don't know what the risks would be for a baby conceived awhile after chemo was finished. But if it's been long enough and all of the chemotherapy agents have worked their way out of her system couldn't it potentially be a normal pregnancy? I wonder if the writers will even bother to deal with the fact that Clare is a cancer patient in remission who's pregnant not just any pregnant teenager. I don't think they do so well with the character consistency so I wouldn't be shocked if they don't bother to incorporate how her cancer might affect the pregnancy.
That said I don't know why they would make her pregnant this late in the game with her in her last season if they were going to do a miscarriage. What's the point of that? I don't see it. I guess this could be their way of bringing her and the baby daddy, probably Drew, closer. Like they bond over losing their child instead of over raising their child. That would be a sad and cruel path to take but it's possible I suppose.

And abortion would be very Degrassi goes there-ish but that would be huge deal for Clare with her very religious family. Also if they decide to really deal with the effects of her cancer past on her and the pregnancy, potentially this could be the only child she has. That could be a different kind of conflict for her, she's very young and this pregnancy was super unplanned but because of her cancer and chemo, her chances of getting pregnant again are greatly reduced, so does she risk aborting possibly the only biological child she'll ever have because she's young and not ready? That might be too focused on the medical issues and more Grey's Anatomy than Degrassi, but you never know. I really hope they don't go the abortion route though, I don't want one of Clare's last acts on the show to be an abortion.
I could see them sending Clew and the baby off as a family. Like ihavealife2uknow mentioned, they had Spinner and Emma get married at like 19 years old after not really dating and drunkenly getting married at a casino. A Clew family ending wouldn't be that crazy, especially considering they have been building up the Clew storyline for awhile now. I would definitely prefer it over a miscarriage or abortion storyline and over an Eclare ending too.

Don't foster my wishful hopes and dreams. Suddenly, I recently just started thinking of those council room moments where Ali, I think it was, is mentioning how they act like a functional married couple. Of course I think Becky mentioned something to that affect too. Oh the irony.

Ahh..I jumped the gun a bit and it turns out Karis is the lead of a new series that Epitome (and Stohn, Linda, and Ramona Barckert) are doing. Also among the stars of that series are Justin Kelly, Dylan Everett & Cristine Prosperi. Stefan is among the directors.

The press release does mention that it's shooting in Toronto (I think we know where) through October, so we know the reason for the filming hiatus and the length of it.

I also think that Maya will get in the way of a Miles/Tristan relationship eventually which is part of why I don't ship them along with the idea that this storyline will be a Miles storyline in the end. I also think that Tristan is starting to remind me more and more of Marco who also had a big heart but was never allowed to find someone that would love him as much as he may have loved them.

The first thing when I saw the Open Heart info was that I wasn't sure that Canada had enough actors that weren't on Degrassi.

Oh I thought the same thing about the straight edge comments lol. But he's Eric's bandmate too. That's pretty cool!

I'm excited for a straight edge character. This could have some interesting promise. Usually the more morally conservative characters have been shaped primarily by religion and faith so this is a nice twist.
