I wasn't too interested once I saw the promos for it. __________________

Thanks, Meredith!
I completely forgot to watch on Friday night - I really meant to give it at least one more episode. I'll try to watch it this week. Did anyone see episode 2? __________________

I watched the second episode today while was down.
My impression of it is no more favorable than before. __________________

I'm actually quite enjoying it - it's more intrigue than swashbuckling .
And its nice to see Moist Von Lipwig & Adora Belle Dearheart teamed up again (Lowe and Kate) .Richard Coyle & Claire Foy were in Going Postal the Terry Pratchett mini-series together . |

It reminds me too much of the Dracula series NBC did last Fall - too dependent on blood, sex and costuming/extravagant sets, while light on writing. __________________

I'm finding the violence a lot less dramatic with this mini series. Yes, there are some graphic scenes with neck slashing and gum powder cauterization, but it is not too bad. Sex is low key as well. But I expect it to change some as the show goes on.
I'm actually watching the episodes twice. I understand them much better that way and appreciate what is going on. Watching it twice makes it easier to muddle through John Malkovitch's accent along with the other low talkers on set. I am loving the costumes, especially those shorts on the John Coyle. The sets are gorgeous as well. Is it on this Friday? I do not have it listed in my tv guide. |

Is this show still on and/or renewed?

Yes, it is. But with a lot of breaks, mini hiatuses for a mini series. Should be up 7-25
