Other changes include Adam Rodriguez’s full-time arrival as Alvez, Paget Brewster’s short-term return as Prentiss and Aisha Tyler’s promotion to series regular as Dr. Tara Lewis. Criminal Minds‘ 12th season bows Wednesday, Sept. 28.

On Friday, the actor was let go from Criminal Minds after an on-set dust-up in which he allegedly kicked a producer. In the past, Gibson had been made to attend anger-management classes after reportedly shoving an assistant director. Soon after his dismissal, Gibson began posting to the popular social media site; in a string of tweets Tuesday, the actor thanked his fans and said he was “disappointed by what’s happened.” (Our sister site Variety verified that the account actually is Gibson’s.) At the time of his departure, Gibson said via statement: “I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last 12 years… I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won’t be possible now. I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have.” One of Gibson’s former co-stars, Shemar Moore, also recently took to social media to express his thoughts. Though he never referenced Gibson by name — and later said the video was not about the recently terminated actor — Moore posted an Instagram video (that has since been deleted) in which he states, “I believe in karma. Good things happen to good people. Honest people. Hard-working people. Humble people. People who believe in basic goodness” and “just know that you’re not better than anybody.”
