► Season 2 Spoilers

I still can't believe Boyle didn't get married on Brooklyn Nine-Nine! Does this mean he will start pursuing Rosa again next season? - Cam
Not exactly, but that doesn't mean that romance is completely out of the question for them in the future. "We're going to see a lot more of their friendship, and in the long run that's going to be good because who hasn't had a relationship that starts with a friendship?" Stephanie Beatriz says. "We'll see whether or not it's going to blossom into anything else, but I have a feeling that they're going to be pretty good buds next season." {x}
Marissa: Anything to share on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's second season? Please tell me Jake will be back at the precinct!
Relax, he will, but he might not be happy about what he returns to! "The brash young Detective Peralta returns from his undercover duty hoping that the squad and everything will still remain the same, and in the course of his undercover work, the NYPD has gotten a new commissioner," recent Emmy nominee Andre Braugher told us. "So things are radically changing and Holt is on the cutting edge of this. So the old, stodgy Captain wants everything to change and the young, brash detective wants everything to stay the same." But don't expect to see Holt soften anytime soon. "He will grow even more robotic as time moves forward," Braugher assured. {x}
Question: Andy Samberg’s Peralta was headed undercover at the end of Brooklyn Nine-Nine's freshman season. Is he still going to be separated from his precinct pals when the show returns? - Bethanny
Ausiello: Let's allow the show’s recent Emmy nominee for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series to answer that question: “Peralta comes back from his undercover gig with the FBI hoping to pick right up where he left off, but things have changed in the squad," teases Andre Braugher. There’s a new police commissioner and something different in the air. It’s the beginning of big changes within the NYPD, and our little precinct is going to be transformed in the coming months." But just because there are shake-ups at the top of the food chain doesn't mean Braugher's Capt. Holt won't engage in the "usual needling, that pushing back and forth” with Peralta." "We are a family," Braugher explains. "But there are no fights more terrible than between people who love each other." Bonus scoop: Asked if we’ll see Holt’s hubby (Marc Evan Jackson) in Season 2, Braugher sounds optimistic, but ultimately noncommittal. "Most of the stuff that happens in the show happens in the squad," he says. “We don’t go home quite as often as other shows. I think you may see him - but the storylines dont revolve around Holt’s home life.” {x}
I'm so jealous that you got to go on the Brooklyn Nine-Nine set. Did you get any scoop on the new season while you were there? - Trudy
You may have heard that Holt's nemesis is coming to town, but what you don't know is that she is a woman! "It's a person with whom Holt has a tremendous amount of history and all of it bad," executive producer Dan Goor tells me. "There will be a lot of negative pressure on Holt and the precinct because of [her]." {x}
Any scoop on what's to come on Brooklyn Nine-Nine this season? Thanks in advance!!! - Lauren M.
First of all, did you see the news about Kyra Sedgwick, who will join the show as deputy chief Madeline Wuntch - longtime rival of Captain Holt? She’ll be in two episodes. Other than that, I can tell you that there will be a time jump at the start of the season. {x}
Question: Can you give us a hint as to what’s going to happen when Brooklyn Nine-Nine returns? - Charlotte
Ausiello: According to B99 boss Dan Goor, Season 2 will pick up "five to six months" after the events of the freshman finale. Asked if the flash-forward is tied to a special occasion, Goor would only reveal that the premiere contains "fun, big, juicy events that justify the jump," adding that the episode "will try to address all of the finale cliffhangers." {x}
What can you tell us about Season two?
Andre Braugher: Peralta (Samberg) finishes his undercover investigation, so the squad is reunited. My arch rival appears, played by Kyra Sedgwick. Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) and Jake Peralta continue their love affair, however stop and start it is. Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) and Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti) continue their love affair–their secret, shameful love affair. {x}
Since you had such a wonderful time in Cincinnati, would you give me, a Cincinnatian, a Brooklyn Nine-Nine spoiler? – Lindsey
Prepare to meet the parents! Episode 6 of the sophomore comedy – now airing on Sunday nights, remember! – will introduce us to not only Gina’s “eccentric” and “offbeat” mother, Darlene, but also Boyle’s “very New York Italian” father, who is named… Lynn? (And yes, Cincinnati was awesome.) {x}
Question: Eva Longoria joining Brooklyn Nine-Nine really excites me. Can you spoil anything else about her role on the show? —Mia
Ausiello: Nothing beyond what we already reported. How about something on Kyra Sedgwick’s forthcoming B-99 guest stint instead? Co-showrunner Dan Goor confirms that her deputy police chief ties into the administrative shake-up in the Season 2 premiere. What’s more, Sedgwick’s character will take pleasure in watching Captain Holt suffer, seeing as how she’s his "longtime nemesis and equal who’s now risen above him, much to his chagrin." {x}
Fall TV Spectacular: Exclusive Scoop and Photos on 42 Returning Favorites!
The Season 2 premiere will feature a time jump of five to six months, and it will bring news of a possible change to the NYPD administration that has Captain Holt “worried about what's coming down the pike” for the precinct, says showrunner Dan Goor. (Do we have guest star Kyra Sedgwick to thank for that?) And for fans eagerly awaiting progress in the Jake/Amy romance department, Goor warns not to get too excited about what Season 2 will bring. "We're trying to build the progress of their relationship in a natural way as the season unfolds," he says. "We want the relationship to last, so we're trying to be conscious of the timeframe."
BONUS SPOILER | An early Season 2 episode will find the precinct battling a new and dangerous drug that's plaguing the streets of Brooklyn. {x}
Will Peralta and Santiago get together on Brooklyn Nine-Nine? — Constance
It won’t be long before Jake returns to the 9-9, but he’ll be a little busy taking down mobsters to focus on his love life. Of course, the big elephant in the room is addressed, but you’ll be surprised by what route Paralta takes once he’s back on the squad. However, the real shocker is how Gina handles what happened with Boyle in the finale. {x}
Could I have the Inside Line on Brooklyn Nine-Nine? –Rachel
As previously reported, The Closer‘s Kyra Sedgwick will have a short arc as Deputy Chief Madeline Wuntch, Captain Holt’s longtime nemesis. But what’s at the root of the top cops’ ongoing feud? Turns out it has something to do with… Derek Jeter? {x}
I can't wait for Brooklyn Nine-Nine to return! What can you spill on the season premiere? — Rich
Season 2 picks up six months after Jake first went undercover for the FBI. And although it's been quite a while since Jake and Amy last saw each other, conversation quickly turns to Jake's confession of his feelings for her when they're reunited. But has Jake moved on? Well, he does make at least one new friend while undercover. {x}
Do you have any Amy-related Brooklyn Nine-Nine spoilers? I haven’t heard anything about her character. – Brynley
Melissa Fumero tells us that as Jake returns from his undercover FBI gig, "There’s definitely the elephant in the room that needs to be addressed" – meaning, his season-ending profession of feels for Amy. "But I think fans will be surprised by how it all goes down, how Jake handles it." His approach may be influenced by the fact that Amy is still with Teddy. "We definitely will hear his name a bunch throughout the first episodes, and I think we will see [Kyle Bornheimer] again," the actress ventures. "Teddy and Amy are still really going strong." {x}
Sam: Anything romantic coming up for Peralta and Santiago on Brooklyn Nine-Nine?
Jake's time away from the precinct working undercover for the FBI really matured him, and fans will be surprised to see how honest he is about his feelings for Amy in the season two premiere. However, don't expect sparks to start flying between these two co-workers, since Amy is still with Teddy (even though Jake is clearly the much better choice for her!). But don't worry! There's still hope for something romantic down the road. We might just have to endure a friendship between them a little while longer. {x}
I need some hope that Jake and Amy will get together on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. — Kymberly
I don’t want to crush your dreams, but I hear Kyle Bornheimer will reprise his role as Amy’s detective boyfriend Teddy later this season. Make of that what you will. {x}
A baker's dozen non-spoilery teases:
- In keeping with B99’s homage-esque tone, Jake’s FBI undercover assignment is quite the throwback. And is definitely his dream assignment.
- Boyle needs to work on his sexual innuendo-filled “tough cop” lines.
- Gina resigns herself to a drop in social class, which involves a change in spirit animals.
- Jake and Amy talk about the former’s admission prior to the silent 6 months. Twice.
- Someone is driving the precinct crazy with drills, which eventually leads to a retaliatory bouncy castle.
- Boyle accidentally gives away a secret to Jake.
- One of the best/worst recurring jokes from last season makes a reappearance.
- If you’re bummed about missing out on the six months between the first season finale and the second season premiere, Jake’ll fill you in about his goings on within his allotted 12 seconds, and only 3 things happened in the precinct.
- Someone creates a new drink to make the most of a 2-drink maximum -- it works better in theory than in practice.
- There’s mention of “The Gina Incident,” which may or may not be what you think.
- A bonding experience involving a classic Billy Joel song comes into play, and is tied to Jake’s cover.
- The Captain is smiling less than usual. In other news, the Captain apparently smiles.
- Terry gets to show off his acting skills, including his ability to portray an inanimate object. {x}
Question: Any chance you have a Brooklyn Nine-Nine spoiler? – Kendall
Ausiello: Look for Jake and Amy’s mutual (and suppressed) attraction to come out in the open at the worst possible time: during a couples’ weekend getaway with their respective romantic partners, Sophia (special guest star Eva Longoria) and Teddy (returning guest star Kyle Bornheimer). {x}

Thanks for the new thread!

Next episode, I think that there will be an Amy/Gina C-plot due to this picture that Chelsea and Melissa instagrammed awhile back https://instagram.com/p/zjSWyenlN7/?...=melissafumero and because of the fact that they haven't been mentioned as being involved with the other plots of the episode.
