and to be honest with you, i've actually tried to like LP because i was trying my best to watch the show i loved for more than three years, but it just never happened.

Maybe if Mark hadn't wrote BL in the way he did for S2 and S3, then maybe i could've accepted LP, maybe even liked them. But, to me, everything about BL just seems right. They have so much material - the letters, the matching tattoos, a godson, lucas' ONLY embarrassing speeched both for her, the fact that they never hurt anyone before and throughout their relationship and the fact that they both realized what they want in each other without anyone being a third party, Lucas' repeated declarations that she is the one How can Mark just ignore that?

Not only that , but the very abrupt and tasteless way that LP got together in season 4. It was like WTF? Lucas tells Peyton that Brooke is the one he wants standing next to him when his dreams come true. Then a few episodes later, oh never mind - it's Peyton. And don't even get me started on how comfortable Peyton was being with Lucas infront of her best friend after she had first hand in breaking them up!

Season 4, to me, was like character suicide to so many people on the show.

Sorry for the rant...it's just sometimes i feel that something big and unpleasant must have happened suddenly to make Mark change the course of the show 180 degrees like that. I wish he could at least tell us, maybe we can make sense of it.

I so agree! add to that the fact that Brooke was so sweet she never said to peyton "Shhhut Up, B," as I would have!!!

And I so wish Mark would just come out with it if something happened behind the scenes that made him have to change the show and rewrite so rapidly.

O and I've tried to like LP too. But I can't .. I went into episode 5 like now is as good a time as any to start to like them. At least we'll get the emotional proposal or whatever. But by the dinner I was like WTF!? It didn't feel right to me. It felt like two old friends catching up. Not two people so in love that someone was gonna propose. And then the actual proposal.. I think I actually spaced out the first time and had to go back and rewatch because everyone was saying that P had gall to need to be comforted.. and I totally missed that the first time around. So long story short. I don't think I'll ever be able to like them

It's hard to erase the amazing buildup that Brooke and Lucas had for two seasons. It's hard to erase the bittersweet romance that they had. It's hard to erase your first love from your memory.

I've pretty much given up the possibility of Brooke and Lucas being together. It would be a wonderful surprise, but with the direction last season took and the direction this season is going, it is so highly unlikely. Now I would flove to be proven wrong in the end. But right now, I'm sticking to my guns on this one.

Honestly can you guys picture LP with a child especially Peyton....really

The way she behaved in the last episode I feel like she has to grow up a lot more to even think about something like that....
It is just funny...LP never seemed to be a forever kind of thing to me....

Peyton with a child would be laughable-she has't really even interacted with any child except molly-haha oh and jenny but that was a DIFFERENT PEYTON...at least I think so-the Jeyton Peyton was loveable this new Leyton Peyton is scary!! and lp seem sooo much like friends or siblings it is hard to see them portrayed as EPIC...i really tried to like them as well and when that didn't work I thought well at least there is Naley and this season even they are Blah...

I don't know, we need to pay to see the side, i was just lurking in the LP thread and they mentioned it, it's a NH side and at the end Luke goes to see Brooke.

Well it's not much, but I hope that when Lucas goes to see Brooke at the house that they'll actually talk about something other than Peyton and maybe Brooke will open up about the adoption situation.
