It's sad when shows go in different directions to create "drama" on the show. But to me, it's not "drama", just scenes that make no sense whatsoever. Alot of shows have tried to rewrite the series, but it's always a failure. You can't forget what has already happened...unless you can invent a time machine to rewrite history...or go to the island in "Lost" to get that space/time continuum thingy.

It's gonne be funny because I am sure Marky will pull a Cliffhanger ending for S5 and since they'll film S6 straight after we will know the resulotion of that cliffhanger before we might even see the S5 finale. LOL.

I haven't watched OTH since 505, only the BL scene in 507 but the thing is, I still care a bit for the show, mostly for Sophia/Brooke

Do anyone knows if October Road is gonna be renewed? You know what would be cool? (Mark if you're lurking take note) Jake coming back at the end of season five and sticking for the whole season six. A girl can dream, right?

By the way, this season is getting five or six episodes more? And more important, do you guys think season six will be a full season?

I dont even know why series writers try to do it. It happened so it can't just be erased even if they try .... 90210 did it, OTH is doing it and I am sure a bunch of other teen dramas have done it as well. It seriously sucks!

You know what I want to know now. If Lucas will be involved in Brooke's "adoption/baby storyline). I personally believe he will but I wanna read it with my own eyes that it will actually happen on the show.

I'm hoping they need some new characters in 5.14 so we can get some sides this week...

No word yet if OR will return. But I can tell it's not looking good according to some of their cast members. With not good I mean for their cast but probably a hell better for us who want BG back on OTH. LOL. I think it would be a freakin miracle if ABC renewed OR... the show is a big ratings failure and it got a 2nd chance this year with a 2nd season but I doubt they'll get another one. I think ABC have stronger shows to bring back for their fall line... they are not like the CW network.

I want BG (Jake) back but I do NOT wanna see him as some prop for LP than I rather wish he doesnt return. That would just be painful to watch and a slap in the JP fans faces who long for JP.

I haven't heard anything about OR being renewed...but Jake coming back...alot of fans would be happy. He's said it before (Mark)...he should have grabbed BG as quickly as possible.

I bet we'll probably get a full pickup for Season 6. With the early pickup, that usually is the case.

My speculation is that he might. I think he's gonna speak with that Patricia chick and tell her what a great person Brooke is, how she would be there for her family. How she's nothing like her mother.

But do I think that season 6 will be better????....don't think so
There is just no reason to watch it at all...bad storylines and no BL at the moment...what should keep me entertained???

It is definitely strange talking to you on here again...so much time passed...honestly up to this day I thought I would have definitely over 1000 posts....but a lot of girls bailed on the show (me too a bit)...I was cramped with work and busy writing + what is there to speculate about besides LP???

But I'm so glad to see you here again....really...missed you here so much
Well my mom....it is not easy for her but I hope her condition is getting better...it is just not a typical illness
Baby... i'm sorry about that I wish i could hug you for real.

It's a good thing that we have our writing, right? and talking about writing, i have a new 'guy-question' for you i'll PM you about it.

s6 could go either way (but i'm not really high on hopes right now). I wish we knew more...

Denise Ali Good to see you girls!

Yeah, right Really, the CW only picked up Oth again because, like it or not, it is a show that already has a loyal fanbase. All the shows that were on their first season on the CW this year had sucking ratings (even Gossip Girl didn't have great ones). The CW couldn't do anything but renew the shows which already had a strong fanbase, like Supernatural, Smallville and One Tree Hill.

And Mark saying that this season is the best creatively speaking is just bull. Even the fans who are enjoying season five have been complaining about the continue reuse of storylines taken from the earlier seasons of the show. The man is delusional.

New article/interview with Mark. He hopes for 22 episodes in S6.

'One Tree Hill' picked up for coveted sixth season

By Amy Hotz
Staff Writer
amy.hotz@starnewsonline.com

The CW announced Monday that One Tree Hill would be back for a sixth season, drawing comparisons from locals to another long-running made-in-Wilmington teen drama, Dawson's Creek. It's a comparison those involved with the show relish.

"It's sort of unimaginable," said Mark Schwahn, One Tree Hill's creator.

Also picked up by The CW were dramas Gossip Girl, Smallville and Supernatural, the comedy Everybody Hates Chris and reality competition America's Next Top Model.

The CW is the latest network to announce early pickups for next fall, a move likely influenced by the shortened pilot season brought about by the recent writers strike. The network did not, however, announce how many episodes it would commit to producing. The CW publicist Jeff Tobler said specifics would not be known until the May 15 "upfront" presentation, when The CW will present its fall schedule to advertisers.

Schwahn is crossing his fingers for 22 more episodes.

"I don't know if we'll get 22 episodes next year, I think we will. ... I think that pulls us even with Dawson's Creek. Dawson's Creek is a huge, big, wonderful show that when you come to Wilmington to make a pilot, you have this specter of this show looming over you and it seems unattainable to go as long as they would," he said.

Local crew members expressed a relief in knowing that after wrapping the recently ordered six episodes to be filmed for season five, they'll go on a short hiatus and get right back to work.

Michael J. Hall, a construction coordinator on the show who also worked on Dawson's Creek, was "a bit surprised" to learn the show had been renewed. Hall learned about the sixth season approval when called by the Star-News for comment. He was in New Orleans working on a feature film.

"Yee ha!" he said. "I came here to do a show during the strike, and I was unaware that after the strike was resolved, they'd come back and shoot a few more episodes for season five. So I'll definitely be home for season six."

Being able to work at home means a lot to Hall, and knowing that the jobs are going to keep on coming is an even bigger relief.

"On Dawson's, we kind of knew that we'd have a fifth and sixth season at the end of the fourth, which is very rare in this industry that you'd have time off knowing you were going to have a job," he said.

A sixth season for the show, which employs between 125 and 150 locals, is good news for the local economy, said Johnny Griffin, director of the Wilmington Regional Film Commission. In the past, One Tree Hill has spent roughly a million dollars an episode, he said, "If they order 12 or 13 or 22, that's how much more we're going to get in the local economy."

Also, Griffin said, EUE/Screen Gems Studios did not have anything on its calendar going into the summer or fall because of a possible actors' strike this summer.

"We're waiting to see what's going to happen there. But it's good to know that at least when that all gets resolved that we at least have one project that has already committed and will be here," he said. "Keeping our name out there in the television world is important for us as well, for other companies to see the success, that it's still working, that it's not just a trend from the past with Dawson's Creek or something."

In the CW announcement, the network alluded to One Tree Hill's appeal to female viewers ages 18-34 as a reason for the show's renewed popularity. Schwahn says he thinks all that success can be attributed to one thing - jumping ahead four years in the story line. This season, the show skipped the characters' college lives and picked up four years after their high school graduation.

"I believe that's the single factor responsible for this sixth season pickup," Schwahn said. "It proved to be invigorating to the cast, to the crew, to the writers and to the audience. The numbers are up this year, which is very rare for a show that is having a fifth season ... You know, the kids have graduated high school and usually you start to see a creative decline in shows of that ilk ... Shows have survived it for a couple of years, but no show has been creatively better than it was before. And this show is.

"I actually had said today, even, not anticipating an early pickup, I said, 'I feel more confident about a season six than I have any other season.' And it turned out to be true."

The One Tree Hill pickup is just the most recent good news for Wilmington's film professionals. HBO confirmed Thursday that an adaptation of the BBC series Little Britain will begin filming here this month.

Well I am happy for the OTH crew who still have their jobs.... but Im still not sure if I personally is very happy. If it's gonna end LP no matter what I just wished it would have ended this season instead. Enough of the damn torture for this fanbase!

I guess the looming actors strike this summer is the reason why the CW wants them to film some S6 episodes straight after wrapping S5.

Mark should just admit that he's stuck. he ran his crappy storylines into a one-way street and now he has no room to 'move around'. Sucks for him, and for us that have to watch him masacre earlier seasons in order to try and make way for his weird 'vision'.

Maybe he should pick up some advise from some of the ff.net writers *cough-outline and plan stuff thoroughly-cough*

Ya got that right.

And I'm not saying I blame the BLers for giving up. I myself do not have hope and have given up on more than one occasion on the show. I didn't watch any of 4.11 or 4.12 or 4.16. And the rest of the second half of S4 is a blurr to me. And after 5.07-08 I don't believe it's even possible to bring BL back and have it be believable. On Brooke's part. Because I don't believe a word that comes out of Lucas's mouth- written or otherwise. I just wish we could all support BL. I don't want Mark to win. Do you know how many people that I've talked to this week alone that have been watching since almost the beginning or since the beginning that were BLers last year and have decided to be on team Peyton because they don't like Lindsay and know that Brooke doesn't have a shot??

: I will not carry myself down to die - when I go to my grave my head will be high :

I have decided.. we may never get another shot-- but BL is the better couple and I will not give up on them. I will go down fighting if necessary.

Talking about shows rewriting history...I was not a fan of Marissa on The OC, and I was even less of a Ryan/Marissa supporter, but I still liked how in season four, though they gave Ryan a new love interest, the writers didn't try to rewrite her role in the previous seasons. I loved how the first episodes were spent dealing with the aftermath of her death and that also in later episodes we had reminders of her. End of the OT

ETA: I could never become a supporter of Peyton, not even in a million years.

So true. If this season was supposed to be something fresh, something different, why reuse storylines but with different characters. The only fresh thing this season that I've totally enjoyed is Jamie. He's just too cute.

Thanks for bringing over the article, Eva. And I have one thing to say. If Mark wants OTH to be the caliber that was DC, then he should do what Kevin Williamson did in the finale. True love will always be together...soulmates will always remain friends.

You know the good thing with a S6.. we might actually get a chance to see Brooke with her baby.

I am convinced Mark will make her have a baby one way or another. Of course I'd wish it was together with Lucas.. a BL family. If not, well adopting a baby with the help of Luke is awesome for me too. I wanna see where Mark is taking the babystoryline and what part Luke will play in all of this.

Oh and suggestion Marky. No need to bring back Owen in S6.... we want Jake. He is actually HOT and well a part of OTH history. I so wanna see Jenny again as well.
