Welcome to the thread everyone to discuss everything Superman related. If you're a fan of his, I'm interested to know how you became 1. ''Smallville'' is what got me into Superman. I was a big fan of Lex Luthor on that show as he was played very well by Michael Rosenbaum. There is an upcoming Superman film titled ''Man of Steel'' that has made many cast changes from the most recent film about Superman named ''Superman Returns'' which gives us a lot to discuss. A Superman thread, excellent!

I've been a fan of Superman since I was a little kid. Sadly I can't remember what age I got into him, just that I was very young. I saw the movies with Christopher Reeve which were like gold to me. They were incredible.

I remember watching Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman when I was younger. It would be on in the evenings and I would watch and then years later it was on re-runs on TNT and I would watch that before going to school.

Also watched the Animated Series every now and then.

Come 2000/2001 I had heard there was going to be a show that showed Superman before he became Superman ("Smallville") and I was stoked because it was a different take on the mythology. It aired exactly on my birthday, October 16th and I followed all 10 years.

I know many were not a fan of Superman Returns but I liked it. Sure it could have been way better but it was tolerable.

And of course I've heard of the new Superman: Man of Steel film so I am extremely stoked for that. I think I'll probably go spoiler crazy for it. I don't think I can stop myself

It's only been within the past 4 years that I really started getting into Superman collecting. With my Star Wars collection having come to an end I kind of needed another outlet and who better than the Man of Steel. I have some posters but mostly I've been getting the comics this way I can follow the stories and know more about the world of Superman.

I'm 22 but I'm still a nerd/geek. I'm all ready thinking of doing a Superman theme for my dorm room with red/blue sheets and my mom is even thinking making a blanket throw Superman style.

Something personal I do have is a Superman drawing I did my senior year of high school. I might not be able to draw much but I can draw Supes.

I can't wait for the Superman:MOS film because this means more Superman merch. out there!

Thanks for posting those pics. You listed some of your favorite actors who have played some of those characters, but which are fave characters in general whether they are from the comics, cartoons, or films?

Oh characters in general, that's a good question.

I would have to go with the 'Smallville' version of Lois Lane and Lex Luthor. For Superman it's hands down the Superman from the original 'Superman' films. For Clark Kent I would have to go with 'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.'

Thanks. The only 1 of the original films I've seen was from 1978. Very good cast & fun movie. Loved Marlon Brando in it.

I've seen all of the Superman movies. Superman III & IV were a total disappointment though.

Yeah Marlon Brando was great as Jor-El. I'm pretty excited that they got Russell Crow cast for Jor-El in MOS. That will be amazing. The casting in general so far has been incredible.

I'll see each of the Superman films & the Supergirl 1 shortly. What was disappointing about Superman II & III?

Superman 3 had Richard Pryor in it and I can't stand him, never been able to. He just seemed so out of place. And Superman 4, though it was a noble idea it had a terrible plot.

In reviews I've read of ''Superman III'', more of an emphasis was put on comedy for that film. Do you that is what helped not make it as good as the first 2 movies?

Possibly. For me I just don't like Richard Pryor so that was a huge turn off.

I thought he was good comedian, but I haven't seen much of his films, so unsure how much range he had.

Grant Morrison said on Monday in an interview in the U.K. Paper Independent that they are going to show a ''kind of a different side to the character than we've ever seen before.'' I am curious how different he will be, but I think he was referring to Superman in Action Comics, instead of the Superman reboot.

That's good. Glad you have a positive attitude about this. Do you think that Lana Lang would be a good fit for ''Man of Steel''? I read at Cosmic Book News that Lindsay Lohan could play her in it.

Dear god I hope not. I am not a fan of Lana whatsoever. I used to be but she kind of became the villian in the story when she took over LexCorp in the comic books and when she started dating Lex and then married him in Smallville.

And I am seriously hoping the rumors of Lindsey Lohan are just that, rumors. I would have her try to make a comback in any other film but Superman. Don't need her ruining that film for me with bad casting.

Interesting. Lex & Lana were my favorite couple on ''Smallville'', so we disagree about them. Lindsay Lohan has seemed to make improvements in her life as she's gotten off House Arrest, so wish her the best.

Have you seen pics of the ''Man of Steel'' set? I've seen some. Apparently there is a real ''Metropolis'' in Illinois where this is being filmed.
