Comic Book Movies #7: Who Watches the Watchmen?

New thread to post on.

I think that Heath Ledger's performance was the only award-worthy part of TDK, so I'm not surprised that his nomination is the only one that the film procured.

Has anyone else watched the 'new' Watchmen trailer? It is pretty sweet, and made me want to watch the movie even more.

I disagree. Christopher Nolan could have gotten nominated for ''Best Director'' instead of perhaps Stephen Daltry for ''The Reader''. The Dark Knight got shafted to me. It still made lots of money & will probably make more, so things aren't all bad.

You caught the Watchmen trailer on TV?

It explains a little more about what's going on in the movie instead of just being cool like the last one was.

A lot of great actors/directors/movies/tv shows were snubbed by GG so that's minus 10000000000000 points for their credibility

I watched the second Punisher movie this weekend...it was really good and better than I thought it was going to be. Just a bit gory.

A Punisher movie should be gory though. Glad to hear that it was good though. I may have to check it out this weekend.

I haven't seen the first one, so I thought I would get lost...but they actually did a good job covering all the bases and doing some flashbacks. I would definitely recommend it, especially to you.

I'm glad that you went to see Warzone, because it made $4,000,000 it's opening weekend. I believe it's in at least 2500 theatres, so I was expecting it to do much better. Guess there are still some ticked off Thomas Jane Fans.

It got critically trashed too, so that may have had something to do with it.

May be. I read in a review of it at screenrant.com that it was as fun as a bloody violent film about a vigilante could be. It did have some production problems though. Ray Stevenson apparently did pretty good in it, although the action I read was ''over the top''. Still looking forward to seeing it, along with the Spirit which from the clips looks great.

I have low expectations for The Spirit.
