Comic Book Movies #10: Superflickery

Hope it was okay that I started the new thread. I saw that no one else had yet.

It's fine. Did any of you catch ''Captain America'' today in theaters?

I actually caught a 3 PM showing today. I normally don't like to go opening day because I don't like how crowded it gets but that aside, I actually enjoyed it a lot better than I thought I would. Still had a hard time with the small Steve Rogers CGI stuff but other than that it was great.

At the very end, long after the credits finished rolling, they showed an extended clip as well as the trailer to 'The Avengers'.

Cool. How did Natalie Dormer do in it?

She was okay. Didn't really have much of a role in it.

I saw Captain America too. I thought it was very well done. I liked this role better then his Johnny Storm role in the F4 movies. Though out of the four comic book films that have come out, I think X-Men First Class was the best own but that's just me.

Yea, Dormer didn't have that many scenes. She was in the film for about 5 minutes. I thought Hayley Atwell did great as the female lead. She is a very attractive actress. Hugo was awesome as the Red Skull.

I still haven't seen the X-men First Class movie. I don't have a big like for X-men so I just wait for the dvds. With Marvel movies, I'd have to say that Captain America takes it for me. I liked Thor but the movie was kind of dry and boring for the most part.

I don't like to rate between Marvel and DC which is why I didn't include Green Lantern.

I haven't seen ''First Class'' either & probably won't see it until it comes out on cable. Let me know when you get to catch it.

I saw it yesterday afternoon. I wasn't blown away, but much more solid performance by Evans than in F4 and overall I liked it. Better than Thor, and almost as good as First Class.

I love what Marvel is doing with the interconnected Avengers universe. The individual movies and the big united Avengers film. But to me, Thor was well-acted, cinematographically great, and Asgard was just incredible, but had little in the way of character development and had half an hour's worth of plot stretched out over two hours. I just wanted more, darn it.

We'll probably get more when it comes out on DVD. The release date for it is on September 13th.

Anyone watch Captain America? I was going to do a double matinee and catch Friends With Benefits and that, but after FWB I didn't feel like it. Maybe on Wednesday.
