FYI: Starting September 5, 2004, Fan Forum will be keeping a tally of our posts. It will be done over a two month period (ending October 31, 2004).

In July, there was an unofficial count. The comics board had the least amount of posts out of all the boards. We had only 10 posts!!

In order to stay, we need to average 100 posts a week! over the two month period.

I really believe in this board, and I don't want to see us go. However, it looks like it might be a reality.

Please help us maintain this board. Let me know if you have any suggestions for topics, or increasing the number of posters.

Together I think we can do it.

well that sucks. i'm guessing this board will probably be absored into the 'Books' forum if it does get chopped.

i got no suggestions, let's just try to have some interesting discussions for now.

Thanks so much for your support Joe. Yes, technically, we can be absorbed into other boards (movies, books, sci-fi, etc) But I'd really like to see us stay.

BTW, you've done a great job of starting so many new threads. I'm glad to have you here.

Unfortunately I don't read comic books anymore...but I can probably still pitch in on a few conversations here and there.

100 posts a week is a tall order. I suspect this won't be the only board that will have trouble reaching that goal. Maybe you could try PM'ing some of the people who used to post here. Or how about a "this or that" game thread?

thescoobygang, of course you can participate. I don't read every single comic or manga, even though I'm a current fan. I don't think anyone is any expert. Thanks for your ideas and help in the matter!

We're actually doing much better. Our average for the last two weeks was 97.5. We have to make an average of 100 until Nov. 5th.

Glad you posted this. I was getting curious. 97.5 is a lot better than I thought. If you think about it in more simple terms...all we need is 10 people to post 10 times a week to reach 100. In an ideal world though, we would have a lot of people here with less posts required per person.

I'll try to make this board a frequent stop when I do my FF rounds.

thescoobygang, my number is unofficial. FF is taking their own counts, and are probably doing it at different times. And in a more precise manner.

I'm just giving people a rough idea of how we're doing.

I'll probably say this a million times again until November. But I'm honestly touched by all the support this board is getting. I know everyone is busy and FF has many boards to choose from. And I appreciate anyone who takes the time to post here. Even if it's one post here or there. You have all exceeded my expectations. :cue sappy music:
