the new team in New Avengers #1 consists of Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Spider-Woman, Sentry, and Luke Cage.

definitely a shocker of a lineup. Bendis hinted that Iron Man might not be Tony Stark... Wolverine has never struck me as an Avenger type... and Spider-Man just totally throws a loop at you. Should make for an interesting first few issues to see the team chemistry and how it all comes about.

It sounds suspiciously like the team in "Secret War". Hmm, I don't know what to make of it. Does that mean the other Avengers are dead?

I hope Scarlet Witch suvives the carnage.

Is it me, or is this book taking a long time to ship.

Things are going pretty nuts in the Iron Man book, so that might happen. It would be pretty weird.

I just finished reading 501 and 502 and let me say I am not to thrilled. It's good but I hate the fact that people I like have to be the ones to be killed. On a more positive note I liked the art.

ok, i'm a little sad to see Clint bite the dust, but i hope this all leads somewhere. hopefully they didn't hand Bendis the reigns just to kill off people for no reason. so what's the tally... Ant-Man, Vision, Hawkeye....

Like I said, Wanda better stay safe. She can always join an X-Team.

I figured Ant-Man would go b/c Bendis killed him in "Alias". But Vision's destruction was sad. And Clint...

#503 is coming out next week on Nov. 3. Ugh, I hate Wizard, they gave away what happens. So be careful and avoid the Avengers' articles.

Avengers is one of my favorite comics and about the only thing that would make me stop reading it is if anything happened to Wanda. As it is Vision and Hawkeye are gone and those where my other two big reasons for picking up Avengers in the first place.

I'm surprised they've gotten away with killing so many characters:
  • Jack of Hearts (again)
  • Ant-Man
  • Vision
  • Hawkeye

Also Wasp, Jarvis, and the new Captain Britain might die. Also there were a couple of characters that were injured or killed in battle. I'll have to see which ones again.

I guess they'll find a way to bring them back, if the Avengers are anything like the X-Men.

Highlight to read:

Thor seemed to die in the solo series. And Tony Stark pretended to retire from Iron Man to make his identity secret again.

So what did everyone think of the ending? For the most part I liked it. I had a few quibbles. But then again I wouldn't be a comic book fan if I didn't.

I'm still not sure how I felt about the end. It seems like everything I enjoyed about the Avengers is gone. It was a pretty good read though and of course lots of Scarlet Witch is never a bad thing.

I liked how it was a bit of a love letter to Wanda. And Magneto flying down and taking her away was heartbreaking.

On the other hand, it did feel a little like a ripoff of Dark Phoenix (mutant with almost god like powers loses control). And can Bendis write a book without Spiderman popping up? It was just stupid and pointless.

Magneto showing up and taking her away was one of the best parts. I would love to see more with them and Quicksilver. It would be nice to see how they deal with the fallout as a family.

I'd have to say no to that. And I'm a little tired of it but then I've never liked Spiderman that much.

I'm not the biggest Spidey fan either. But his appearance in #503 was particularly grating. I'm not a Vision/Wanda fan but his comments were just stupid and unfunny.

Quiksilver pops in and out (literally) in the Avengers finale. There's a miniseries that's going to deal with the Maximoff family. I can't remember the name right now.
