There was an Ice Storm about 20 years ago that took down a lot of the power grid in the province. I think it made it clear to everyone that keeping the roads clear (among other things, of course) was in everyone's best interest: citizens, employees and employers. So the government has made it a priority now.

We had that
happen in Georgia.

I can see
why they made
it a priority.
And why everyone
does that now.

some yesterday and
then the mercury
plummeted right back
down again, so
it's ice everyone
on the roads
today around here.

Kimmie, I need
winter boots that
won't let the
snow in, but
also that won't
take in water.

And that hopefully
stay warm when
I'm walking around.

convince my mother
to do a

boots as well
as wedding outfits.

really plan on
getting for myself

Yeah, I did
find new boots.
Of course, the
forecast for this
week is (finally)
for much milder
temperatures, so I
may not get
to start wearing
them any time
soon, which would
be completely okay.

I'm not about
to complain about
semi decent weather
just because I
finally have the
boots to handle
the snow on
the ground here.

Be patient with
yourself at the
mall, okay? My
mother often gets
overwhelmed in malls
because she thinks
she has to
do everything all
at once and
she gets frustrated
when her body
can't keep up.

wanting to complain
about it a
little bit though.

I think it
sounds like you
have a good
game plan for
getting the most
out of the
mall without getting
too caught up
in the annoying
parts of it.

Which sounds like
the way to
go, if you
ask me. Totally.

And the weather's
getting so mild
that it's almost
enjoyable. Not quite,
but really almost.

Of course, the
sidewalks are about
to turn to
gross mush, so
that'll be another
thing to get
through, but it's
a good sign.

At some point,
I'm gonna switch
to rain boots.

Winter boots can
handle water, but
they're not rubber.

So, you know,
for the health
and longevity of
the boots, it's
better to spare
them the rivers
that our sidewalks
become come spring.

It feels like
spring now, though
it's supposed to
be colder Thursday.

I'll see if
it continues and
then I'll be
ready to call
it spring time.
